Names on the Map in "World of Warcraft" Quiz

The Zones of Classic "WoW"

The World of Warcraft is vast and constantly expanding, but in this quiz you only need to know its original map-- just the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. All the other locations are from elsewhere-- other islands, other realms. Good luck!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

When the original "World of Warcraft" game released in 2004, it's likely that few would anticipate how big this world would grow to be. Within twenty years it would go through numerous expansions and iterations, some of which would destroy and rebuild the layout of the original world and some of which would reconstruct regions to suit new player level caps and capabilities. With this all in mind, much of the original map, comprised of Kalimdor to the west and the Eastern Kingdoms to the east, has stayed intact (save for some additions).

Tirisfal Glades, Ghostlands, Burning Steppes, Stranglethorn Vale, Wetlands, Arathi Highlands, Dun Morogh, and Blackrock Mountain are all part of the Eastern Kingdoms.

Durotar, Moonglade, The Barrens, Stonetalon Mountains, Dustwallow Marsh, Un'Goro Crater, Thousand Needles, and Tanaris are all in Kalimdor.

The game's first and second expansions, "Burning Crusade" and "Wrath of the Lich King" changed the maps a bit, adding the extraplanar Outlands in the former (including Zangarmarsh and Blade's Edge Mountains) and the continent of Northrend in the latter (featuring the Borean Tundra and Grizzly Hills).

"Cataclysm" changed the original map, reshaping what players knew about Azeroth as a maelstrom opened up in the sea. This included new locations like the Lost Isles and Deepholm.

Over the course of the next expansions, players could find the Timeless Isle in Pandaria (in "Mists of Pandaria"), Talador and Shadowmoon Valley in Draenor (in "Warlords of Draenor"), and the Broken Isles locations of Dalaran and The Broken Shore (in "Legion").

Tiragarde Sound would be part of Kul Tiras in "Battle for Azeroth", Maldraxxus would contain instanced dungeons in "Shadowlands", and Thaldraszus would be a key destination in "Dragonflight".
