Answer: Light's Hope Chapel

Light's Hope Chapel, found in the eastern end of the zone, is the only 'safe zone' per se. Occupied by Argent Dawn members, it's the primary quest hub and sanctuary for both Alliance and horde characters. In addition, many opportunities can arise here for a player to earn Argent Dawn reputation. Containing a flightpath location, a hearthstone set point, and many vendors, it's a last vestige for high level players traveling through one of the most dangerous zones in the original version of "World of Warcraft" without expansions.

The paths of the zone don't lead to Light's Hope; you need to venture off on your own to get here.

Answer: 55

New Death Knight players will partake in this Hero Class in Acherus: The Ebon Hold which floats above the cliffs on the eastern tip of the Eastern Plaguelands. Introduced in "Wrath of the Lich King", this city is instanced for Horde and Alliance players, and as such it can not really be accessed by non Death Knight players in the game. Death Knights, because they are a Hero Class, do not require the grinding like earlier characters, thus they begin at the modest level 55.

The flightpath inside this location is solely for Death Knight players though it takes riders across most of the northern part of the Eastern Kingdoms.

Answer: Scarlet Crusade

A rather large, structurally-sound village on the east edge of the zone, Tyr's Hand, Tyr's Hand Abbey, and the Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave are all run by the Scarlet Crusade's highest-leveled elites in the original "World of Warcraft" game's zones. Although most of this region opened up with the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion, many quests found from Light's Hope Chapel will bring you here (at least for Horde players). Further north from this zone players can find the site of Archerus: The Ebon Hold, though many will not even be able to visit this fortified city in the sky.

The Scarlet forces in Tyr's Hand are mid level 50 elites.

Answer: It's a hostile town

Corin's Crossing bisects the main path across the southern region of the Eastern Plaguelands. This once peaceful town has been overtaken by scourge enemies in the mid level 50s who can really cause some havoc to players fresh in the zone for the first time.

Some of these enemies will remain cloaked until you go near. Most players tend to hightail it around the town to the north or south to reach Light's Hope Chapel, but more adventurous players can probably break through the entire area. There are no NPCs to be found here.

Answer: The Noxious Glade

The Noxious Glade is separated from Light's Hope Chapel by a single range of hills which can be climbed up through from a path on one side of Browman's Mill, a haunted farmstead. This open area contains two large, obscure ziggurats containing enemies, but the real fright comes from the near level 60 creatures which guard the local cauldrons.

The Noxious fumes emitted in this area make it much darker and more dangerous than other parts of the zone. The tunnel in the southeast corner of the glade leads to Death's Breach, where Death Knights emerge from Archerus: The Ebon Hold.

Answer: Darrowshire

Darrowshire, nestled in the southern cliffs of the Eastern Plaguelands, is a ruined village of decrepit and dilapidated building ruins. One quite notable quest chain continues through here during which you help fix Pamela Redpath's doll and discover the past of her family before finally opening a hidden treasure chest with her father's key. You may know Pamela from somewhere else too; her family can be found in the inn in the Culling of Stratholme mission in the Caverns of Time. Darrowshire, otherwise, is a small area of mid-level 50 creatures.

Answer: North

Pressing against the northern cliffs of the zone, Zul-Mashar is a Mossflayer Troll area filled with creatures in the near level 60 region. These include Mossflayer Shadowhunters, Scouts, and Cannibals, some of which may be Infected. Infection doesn't necessarily refer to sickness with these ones though. Like the rest of the enemies in this zone, the plague has left the Trolls in a state of undead, and defeating them will send them to the afterlife.

A number of quests heading to this enclosed area will require that you defeat the rare bosses and creatures guarding the temple here.

Answer: Four

Much like Silithus in the southwest corner of Kalimdor, Eastern Plaguelands is home to a number of PvP-based fare. Four towers in different compass directions of the zone act as PvP-based arenas, and with the more areas under your faction's control, the better bonus you'll have.

These towers include Plaguewood Tower, Northpass Tower, Eastwall Tower, and Crown Guard Tower. To capture a tower, you need to change yourself into a PvP-enabled character and battle (or wait) until the faction meter slides to your respective colour. You can check which faction controls which tower from your world map.

Answer: The Ghostlands

Introduced in the "Burning Crusade" expansion pack, the Ghostlands are a sharp drop in terms of level range. Connected to the Blood Elf starting zone, Eversong Woods, the Ghostlands are the next-step training area for new players of that race. The Ghostlands and the Eastern Plaguelands are connected by a northerly portal which emerges in Thalassian Pass in Ghostlands if you're heading north.

The only other zone which connects to Eastern Plaguelands physically would be the Western Plaguelands, aptly named because if falls to the west of the current zone. Ghostlands is a Horde-centric zone.

Answer: Naxxramas

After the release of "Wrath of the Lich King", 'Naxx' was moved from its location in Plaguewood in the Eastern Plaguelands (where it was a 40-man dungeon) to Dragonblight in Northrend where it became a level 80 raid for 25 players. Remaining in Eastern Plaguelands is one of the most famous instances of the original game, Stratholme, which also rests in Plaguewood. Once the largest city in this region of the Eastern Kingdoms, Stratholme was destroyed during the Third War, infesting it with undead scourge. Players can also go back to the good ol' days of Stratholme through the Caverns of Time in Tanaris with the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion.
