Answer: Conway Wickliffe

Techician Conway Wickliffe died in a car crash in September 2007 during filming. Among the other choices, Ritchie Coster portrays the Chechen gangster, Ron Dean is Wuertz and Nathan Crowley is the production designer who brought the magnificent Gotham to life.

Answer: Joker

The Joker is a tricky guy who loves jokes and has a weird sense of humor. The Joker kills many people and has two scars along his mouth, on each side. Batman and Joker battle throughout the movie.

Answer: Nestor Carbonell

Carbonell portrayed Mayor Anthony Garcia. Garcia was criticized by the media and several citizens of Gotham City for not doing enough to keep the city safe and allowing Batman to catch the criminals. One night, Commissioner Gordon found Garcia's obituary in the newspaper and noted that The Joker planned on killing him the following day at Commissioner Loeb's funeral (The Joker laced Loeb's glass with acid). On the day of the funeral, The Joker and his henchmen (several people he broke out of Arkham Asylum) kidnapped several Gotham City police officers and tied them up in a building. Batman figured out their location and went there. When he got to the window, the shade rolled up and the men protecting Mayor Garcia were distracted, thus giving The Joker and his men a clear shot at killing Garcia. Gordon realized this and ran to get Garcia out of the way. The Joker fired his shot and hit Gordon instead. Garcia survived but Gordon "died". It was revealed, about a half hour later, that Gordon had actually lived. Carbonell, a New York City native, can be seen in films like "The Lost City", "Manhood", "Jack the Dog" and also on several episodes of the TV show, "Lost".

Answer: Now he's always smiling.

At the end of his monologue to Rachel, the Joker says "Now I see the funny side. Now I'm always smiling." This story is obviously different from the one the Joker told Gambol earlier in the movie. So, we are left unsure if either of these stories is true.

Answer: the mob

The first indication we get that this is not a regular bank comes from the clown monitoring the silent alarm. Just before he is killed, by an accomplice, he comments that the call he interrupts has not been made to the police. Later the bank manager, before being shot, confronts the clowns and asks them if they know who they are robbing. Afterwards we learn, through various conversations, that the bank is indeed owned by the mob, so reprisals are expected to be harsh.

Answer: Makes a pencil disappear, but really puts it up a guy's skull

The man's friend gets angry after that and says he will give $500,000 dollars for the Joker dead and $1,000,000 alive. This leads to the Joker faking his death to tell the man that he works for him and also the story of his scars, before taking the guy's men to kill Batman.

Answer: "All the old familiar places..."

The line is part of the popular 'I'll Be Seeing You' written by Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal. It was published in 1938. The Clown Prince of Crime murmurs this as he pulls out a small dagger and stabs Batman, who is trapped in a net.

Answer: Bruce Wayne

Bruce Wayne is Batman, but no one in the public knows or finds out, in this movie. Many people, however, do know who he is; like Rachel Dawes, Lucius Fox, and his butler Alfred. Bruce wants to save Gotham, but has many doubts throughout the movie. When he tries to save people, they hate him and when he doesn't save people, they hate him.

Answer: Monique Curnen

Curnen played Detective Anna Ramirez of The Gotham City Police Department. Ramirez's role did not become crucial in the film until later on when Harvey Dent transformed into Two Face. At one point, Dent claimed to be Batman and was taken into police custody and transported to the city jail. Dent did this so that The Joker would go after him and then the real Batman would have the opportunity to take down The Joker. Eventually, The Joker was caught and this was where we saw Jim Gordon alive and back from the dead. Dent got into a police car but, instead of being taken home, he was taken to an old warehouse, bound to a chair surrounded by oil cans. Around that same time, Rachel was taken to a safe location by men supervised by Detective Ramirez, but they took her to another warehouse, bound her to a chair and she was also surrounded by oil cans. Rachel died when a bomb went off but Dent survived, however his face was badly burned and he became Two Face. Dent was taken to the hospital and restrained to his hospital bed. The Joker came, freed him, and he confronted Salvatore Maroni about finding out which officer was responsible for getting Rachel to the warehouse. He told him it was Ramirez. When Dent confronted Ramirez on this, she claimed that some men (presumably The Joker's) blackmailed her into doing this with information on hospital bills. Dent told her to call Gordon's wife and tell her to go to where Rachel died and that her husband, Jim (at this time, Jim was promoted to Police Commissioner), would be there any second. We last saw Ramirez punched in the face by Dent. Curnen's acting credits include guest spots on the TV series "ER", "House M.D.", "Day Break", "Dexter", and "Without a Trace". You can also catch her in the film, "Kate and Leopold".

Answer: "You ought to know, you bought it."

The Joker says this to the mob to mock them with the fact that he bought the suit with their money. He said this so they could take him seriously instead of shrugging him off as a nobody, like they had done earlier.

Answer: fuzzy

This is an intense interrogation scene in the movie. The Joker says this to Batman immediately after Batman smashes the Joker's face into the table in the interrogation room. He's essentially trying to instruct Batman on how to better his interrogation techniques, because if Batman just uses brute force, then the victim won't feel all the pain after awhile.

Answer: Rachel

Rachel Dawes was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne. She was a lawyer and fully stood for what Batman fought for. Rachel believed that good would prevail. She helped Harvey work on the case against the mob. She interrogated Lau (the man who flew with the mob's money to Hong Kong).

Rachel Dawes was played by the lovely Maggie Gyllenhaal. Maggie also had parts in "Riding in Cars with Boys", "40 Days and 40 Nights", and "Stranger Than Fiction".

Answer: Batman delivers him to police headquarters.

Suspicious about Lau, Batman has been keeping an eye on him through a proposed partnership with Wayne Enterprises. When Lau flees, Bruce sends Lucius Fox to Hong Kong to tell Lau that the deal is off. Later that night Batman apprehends Lau and flies him back to Gotham City, where he is left, trussed up, outside of the police station. Lau's fate is not a pretty one, as the Joker burns him alive, on top of a large pile of money.
Lau is played by Chin Han and Lucius Fox is played by Morgan Freeman. Batman is played by Christian Bale.

Answer: He tells one person his father gave them to him, but later tells Rachel that his wife got cut up and he wanted her to feel normal, so he cut his mouth.

It is unknown which of these two stories is true. He finds it fun to tell people different stories. When the end of the film is nearing, the Joker says to Batman, "Do you want to know how I got these scars?", but he never finishes the rest of the story.

Answer: Dogs

The mob members brought their dogs with them during the meeting. The dogs barked wildly when they saw the real Batman show up. The dogs were then released and they went after Batman. On the very next day, Bruce Wayne stitched himself up from the dog bite, as his loyal butler, Alfred, approached him. Bruce discussed with him that he needed a stronger suit.

The character of Bruce Wayne or Batman was played by the English actor, Christian Bale.

Answer: Slaughter is the best medicine

This can be clearly seen when the Joker leans out of the side of the truck to shoot at the van transporting Harvey Dent to the County. It was 'Laughter is the best medicine' and the 'S' was later added with spray paint - a subtle hint of the Joker's malice.

Answer: Neither

Many people on both boats were willing to blow the other up but no one could go through with it. The Joker figured one group would blow the other up, but that did not happen and everyone lived on the boats.

Answer: The Government

Harvey mentioned how he obtained the reservations, while making small talk with Rachel, when they were sitting down to dinner at the restaurant. Harvey might have proposed to Rachel (as he did later in the movie before Bruce Wayne knocked him out at the fundraiser) if Bruce and his date hadn't shown up! Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and Harvey ended up being joined by Bruce Wayne and his date (the Prima Donna from the Russian Ballet). This scene included a small conversation on why Batman did what he did. Dent stood up for Batman saying "He doesn't want to do this forever, how could he?" Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) joked about "someone dressing up like a bat must have serious mental problems".

Answer: Colin McFarlane

It was McFarlane who played Police Commissioner Gillian B. Loeb in the film. McFarlane also appeared in the same role in "Batman Begins". Loeb's screen time in this film was limited since he was targeted by The Joker, along with Judge Surrillo and Harvey Dent. Loeb died about a third of the way through when he drank out of his glass that The Joker laced with acid. Jim Gordon attempted to revive him but it was too late. McFarlane, born in The United Kingdom, has had much experience in acting, starring in TV series like "Doctor Who", "As If", and "Jonathan Creek". A couple of his film credits include roles in "Chunky Monkey" and "The Criminal".

Answer: "Yeah"

The mob is against Joker's plan to kill Batman so he shows them the explosives in his coat so he can escape. Knowing that the mob won't do anything to stop him while their lives are threatened, the Joker is confident in the fact that he can get away unscathed.

Answer: The cops

The Joker tells Batman this as he's explaining why the interest in Batman will eventually be gone. He's basically telling Batman that once Batman does something troublesome, then everyone will turn on him.
Personally this is one of my favorite monologues in the movie. Especially when the Joker says "They're only as good as the world allows them to be." It points out a sad truth, in a very calm and distinguished way.

Answer: Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman played Gordon in Nolan's 2005 "Batman" movie ("Batman Begins"). He also had roles in "Hannibal" (Mason Verger) and the "Harry Potter" series (Sirius Black).

Christian Bale played Batman, Aaron Eckhart played Harvey Dent, and Ron Dean played Detective Wuertz.

Answer: Kicks him in the groin

"A little fight in ya...I like that." said by The Joker. Batman shows up soon after and fights the Joker. The Joker grabs Rachel and drops her out of the window, which is very high up. Batman saves her, but when he returns, the Joker is gone.

Answer: Giselle

The announcement of the cancellation is stuck over the poster of 'Giselle' and the title can be seen clearly in the scene where Harvey and Rachel arrive at the opera. The other options are also plays in the same theater and can be seen in the same scene.

Answer: Gordon

At the time Gordon was working closely with Batman to catch the mob, but was shot protecting the mayor. Later in the movie, when he returned, he was promoted to Police Commissioner.
