26 Her character was the wife of a man who was thought to be dead but turned up alive. She almost lost her own life upon being kidnapped by a man literally scarred for life. Which actress is this?
Answer: Melinda McGraw

McGraw was the one who played Jim Gordon's wife, Barbara Gordon, in "The Dark Knight". It should be noted that Barbara Gordon was Gordon's wife in the comic books but in the "Batman" TV series from the 1960s, she was actually Gordon's daughter. We did not see much of Gordon in this film and she was a relatively minor character. We first saw her when a couple police officers informed her that Jim had "died". The next time we saw her was upon Jim coming back from the dead and returning home to Barbara and his son, James Gordon, Jr. The final scene that involved Barbara was near the end when she arrived at the site where Rachel died, per Detective Ramirez's call (see the interesting info section for question two), and Harvey Dent held her and both her children at gunpoint. Dent never harmed Barbara and she remained alive at the end of the movie. McGraw, born in Cypris, has credits spanning many television shows, including guest stints on "The West Wing", "Bones", and "Desperate Housewives", as well as several films, like "The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps", "Wrongfully Accused", and "Albino Alligator".

Answer: We made it

The Joker says this to all the guests at the fundraiser as a way if instilling fear in the party-goers. In that same day, he has killed Commissioner Leob and Judge Surillio, both of whom had a hand in convicting the mob. He has gatecrashed Bruce's fundraiser to kill Harvey Dent as well.
28 Once Joker was taken into custody, one of the officers read a list of items found on him to Gordon. We, the audience were shown his knife collection as they laid it out in front of Gordon. Besides knives, what other sharp object was Joker carrying?
Answer: potato peeler

I am not sure if the potato peeler was Nolan's idea or Ledger's but it was a neat add in!

The potato peeler was the last item placed on the table, when the police stripped Joker's pockets. The officer also explained to Gordon that he had no real name and the only other thing they found in his pockets was lint.
29 How do the Joker's men take down the helicopter?
Answer: steel cables strung between buildings

After taking quite a few hits, the convoy manages to make it back up onto the upper street where the helicopter can provide air cover. However we see two of the Joker's henchmen fire cables across the upper levels of the buildings. The helicopter flies right into these, becomes entangled and crashes.

30 There are two different stories that the Joker tells involving about how he got his scars. The first story involves his father. What does he NOT say his father was?
Answer: A criminal

"My father was a drinker and a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual." At this point in the movie, you feel as though you are getting a sense of why the Joker does what he does. Unfortunately, he tells Rachel, later in the movie, another story about how he got his scars, so you can't be sure which story is true.
31 The citizens were terrified at the sight of the brutal killings happening in the street. Bruce knew the Joker wanted him and he was ready to reveal his identity to the public. Nonetheless, who stepped up and said that he was Batman?
Answer: Harvey

Just as Bruce was about to reveal his true identity, Harvey announced that he was Batman. He was handcuffed and taken away. Harvey told Rachel that it was his own idea to do that, so that the real Batman would come and save him. However, Rachel thought that the idea was too risky and dangerous.

Many scenes in the movie were filmed in Chicago. The movie was filmed under the false title of "Rory's First Kiss" so that it would not attract the media's attention.

34 His portrayal of the corrupt businessman at Wayne Enterprises, who made deals with the mob, ended with an arrest, courtesy of Batman and a private jet. Who played this sneaky criminal?
Answer: Chin Han

Han portrayed Lau in "The Dark Knight". Lau was an employee at Wayne Enterprises in an executive position and fled to Hong Kong when it was revealed he had been handling the Gotham City mob's money. Harvey Dent, Jim Gordon, and Batman made a plan to get Lau back to Gotham City, since the Chinese could not extradite him. Batman traveled to Hong Kong and captured Lau, then sent a signal up to Wayne Enterprises' corporate jet to come get him. He activated a parachute that got caught by the plane and dragged him and Lau up into the sky. Batman dropped Lau off right outside Gotham City Police Headquarters with a note to have him delivered to Lieutenant Gordon. Lau was taken into custody and questioned by Rachel Dawes. He gave the names of all associates from the mob and Dent got to charge them in a RICO case. Han, born in Singapore, has a short resume with roles in the films "Blindness", "3 Needles", "2012", and a mini-series from the year 2000 known as "AlterAsians".
35 As a tactic to get Batman to reveal himself, the Joker threatens to throw Rachel Dawes off the building. Batman demands that he let her go; what does the Joker say in reply?
Answer: "Very poor choice of words".

Joker says this to Batman at the fundraiser, when Batman interrupts the Joker's hunt for Harvey Dent. The Joker is threatening to throw Rachel off the building if Batman doesn't take off his mask. So when Batman says "Let her go.", the Joker does just that and Rachel falls off the building. But Batman throws himself off after her and saves her before she hits the ground.
36 After getting into his guard's head, the Joker holds him hostage and takes him out into the room with all the other cops. He tells them that all he wants is his phone call. What is the Joker holding to the guard's neck?
Answer: glass

This happens while Gordon and Batman are trying to save Harvey and Rachel. The Joker gets the shard of glass from the broken mirror in the interrogation room. The reason why it is broken is because Batman smashed the Joker's head into the mirror.
37 When Joker had a "change of heart" he called a news show and explained his new rules. He explained that Gotham must kill a man in 60 minutes or he would blow up a hospital in Gotham. What was the name of the man Joker wanted dead?
Answer: Coleman Reese

Coleman Reese was an accountant who worked for Wayne Enterprises. We saw several scenes where Lucius Fox told him to re-do the bookkeeping. Fox exclaimed, "We wouldn't want the trust fund to run out, would we?"

Coleman had been sitting with the news anchor when Joker called the show. Joker decided that Batman revealing his true identity would take away his fun. Joker seemed to enjoy the cat and mouse chase with Batman. Joker asked why he should have all the fun, right before he explained he wanted Coleman dead.

Coleman Reese was played by Joshua Harto. Earlier in the movie Coleman confronted Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) and attempted to blackmail Bruce Wayne/ Batman. Fox wished him luck on that.
38 Which major, recurring character dies in the movie?
Answer: Rachel Dawes

The Joker has captured both Rachel Dawes and Harvey Dent. In different locations, each is surrounded by barrels of gasoline which are wired to blow up. The Joker tells Batman where each is, only giving him time to rescue one. Rachel and Harvey are talking to each other on the phone, each believing that Batman will rescue Rachel and Harvey will die.
This is what Batman tries to do, but the Joker has lied about who is where, and Batman finds that it is Harvey whom he rescues, after Harvey is burnt by burning gasoline. The police arrive too late to save Rachel, and it is her loss that drives Harvey crazy and makes him become Two Face.
Gordon appears to be assassinated, but it is just a ploy to keep his family safe while he works with Batman to get the Joker.
Rachel is played by Maggie Gyllenhaal and Dent is played by Aaron Eckhart.
Question Reference: Quiz: The Dark Knight.
39 Batman goes in to interrogate the Joker after arresting him for trying to kill Dent. He asks him why he wants to kill him and the Joker laughs and says he doesn't want to kill Batman. Why is that?
Answer: He says Batman completes him.

"You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun." The Joker also reveals later that he won't kill Batman because he's too much fun. Batman is a little shocked by the Joker's choice of words. He is shocked because he wants Batman to kill him and go over his limits.
40 The Joker was eventually apprehended by the policemen, after the chase scene between the Joker and the Batman. What thing did the Joker put inside his cell mate's stomach, which he later used to help him escape from the prison?
Answer: A cell phone

The Joker's cell mate kept complaining that his stomach hurt but nobody paid attention to him, until the last minute when the correctional officers called in the paramedic team, only to find out that there was a cell phone in the man's stomach. It was too late for them because the Joker had made a call which detonated the bomb. The entire prison blew up after the Joker grabbed Lau and escaped.

It was the Joker's plan to implant the cell phone in that man's stomach earlier on and he deliberately wanted to get caught by the policemen so that he could end up in the same prison to blow up the place.

The soundtrack for the movie was composed by Hans Zimmer, who was also the music composer for "Gladiator".

41 What was the nickname that Harveys Dent's co-workers gave him, when he worked at the precinct?
Answer: Harvey Two-Face

They called Harvey two-face because he had two sides to his personality. Harvey finds out his name at the hospital when his face becomes two different ones.
42 After dinner with Bruce Wayne, he was nice enough to throw me a fundraiser. Rachel and I arrived at the party at the same time. Apparently I looked nervous because Rachel commented that something "scared me stiff". What did she claim scared me?
Answer: The Trust Fund Brigade

When Harvey and Rachel walked into the fundraiser that Bruce Wayne was holding for him, Harvey was just looking around the room silently. Rachel read the look as a nervous one and exclaimed "Harvey Dent, scourge of underworld, scared stiff by the trust fund brigade". She found it funny that Harvey was more bothered by having to be at the party than the fact that the entire Gotham mob wanted him dead. She quickly walked off leaving him alone. Harvey was approached by Wayne's butler, Alfred (Michael Caine), who offered him "a little liquid courage" (a glass of alcohol). This all happened right before the Joker crashed the party and told Rachel about his scars.
43 In a standoff between the Joker and Batman, Batman is charging at the Joker on his Bat pod. The Joker doesn't move out of the way and instead says what?
Answer: "Hit me!"

The Joker believes that everyone has a dark side and wants to bring that out in Batman. Batman's one rule is not to kill anybody. The Joker tries to make Batman break this one rule by forcing Batman to kill him. But this fails and Batman swerves out of the way before he can hit the Joker.
44 When the Joker delivers Lau and the money to the mob, he is asked what he will do with his share. His response begins with three items he enjoys. What are these three items?
Answer: Dynamite, Gunpowder, Gasoline

Now you can assume that the Joker likes knives, because he does talk about why he uses a knife. This is so he can savor all the little emotions when he kills someone. But in the scene where he delivers the money and Lau to the mob, he only says Dynamite, Gunpowder, and Gasoline, because they're all cheap.
45 The Joker reveals to Batman that Rachel and Dent have been taken to two separate parts of the city, and they are too far away for Batman to save both. He tells Gordon to go after Dent, while he goes after Rachel. What happens?
Answer: The Joker switched the spots, so Batman saves Dent instead.

Because of what the Joker did, Batman saves Dent, but Gordon can not get to Rachel in time. The bombs explode, killing her and this leads to Dent going crazy.
46 When Judge Surrillo and Commissioner Loeb are killed by the Joker, Alfred accuses Bruce of pushing the mobsters in Gotham to the point of desperation. What is Bruce's reply? (Hint: Henry Ducard tells Bruce the same line in 'Batman Begins'.)
Answer: "Criminals aren't complicated."

Right after this, Alfred tells Bruce a remarkable tale of a bandit in the forests of Burma who plundered merely for the sport of it. In 'Batman Begins', when Bruce explains that he traveled the world to understand the criminal mind, Ducard simply remarks, "But a criminal is not complicated."
47 Who is the woman who is tied to gasoline cans, but can't be saved, due to the Joker tricking Batman?
Answer: Rachel Dawes

Rachel Dawes is not saved. Batman tries to save her but saves Harvey Dent instead. She was going to marry Dent but, after her death, this was not possible. She was one of the few to know that Bruce Wayne was Batman.
48 Alright, certain people have noticed I carry around a coin. They seem to have a problem with the idea that I leave absolutely everything up to chance. Instead of explaining the coin to them what did I simply tell them?
Answer: "Not exactly"

Harvey carried around a two headed coin. Though he never mentioned to anyone that there was anything special about the coin, he noted that it was his father's lucky coin, when he arrived late to the Maroni trial. He asked Rachel if she was scared that she would have to step up (to question Rossi). Upon Rachel's comment of "Harvey I know these briefs backwards", Harvey asked if she cared to flip for it. Rachel explained that she felt he shouldn't leave such things up to chance. He told her "I make his own luck".

Dent was dealing with a former patient of Arkham when this quote comes up. The former patient was helping the Joker in his attempt to assassinate the mayor. He was shot and mistaken for the Joker/the one who actually shot at the mayor. Harvey noticed that the tag on his stolen police uniform said "Rachel Dawes" hinting at Rachel as the next Joker killing. Harvey, attempting to get information on where the Joker was, threatened the man with death, using the coin as the deciding factor. Batman showed up and asked if Harvey would leave a man's life to chance. Harvey replied "Not exactly".

Harvey had a similar conversation with Rachel. He was being escorted into the back of a police truck where they planned on transporting "Batman" to the County Jail. She was upset with him for always leaving things to chance. He calmly replied with a smile, "I'm not" and tossed the coin to her, revealing to both her (and the audience for the first time) that it was a double-headed coin. Rachel kept the coin up until her death. Commissioner Gordon left the one-sided burnt coin on Harvey's side table while he was in the hospital recovering from the burns.

Harvey summed up his views on life and luck when he said "The world is cruel. The only mortality in a cruel world is chance. Unbiased, unprejudiced chance. Fair." He mentioned this when he was speaking to Commissioner Gordon and Batman near the end of the movie. He was holding Jim Gordon's son and planned on killing him. This comment was stated to support why he flipped the coin before killing people. He believed this gave them as much of a chance that Rachel had to live.
49 While in the interrogation room with Commissioner Gordon, Joker wants to know the time. When Gordon asks what that has to do with Harvey Dent, what does Joker say?
Answer: "Well depending on the time, he may be in one spot or several".

Commissioner Gordon has just arrested the Joker after he, Harvey Dent and Batman drew him out during the car-chase scene. But Harvey goes missing so Gordon interrogates the Joker about it. The Joker hints that there is a bomb involved and that "depending on the time" Harvey may be dead or still alive. Because of this threat against Harvey's life, Gordon decides to let Batman take over with the interrogation.
50 What is the color of the wig that the Joker is wearing in the hospital?
Answer: orange

The Joker dresses up a nurse so he could easily get to Harvey Dent's room. It's also easier for him to get into the room because the hospital is busy releasing all the patients, because of the Joker's threat to blow up a hospital.
