Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Munchkin
Answer: Unnatural Axe
Munchkin is a dungeon crawler card game first released in 2001. The game requires players to play cards in order to kill monsters, collect treasure and try to level up their character all the way. The game at times mocks some of the conventions of traditional role playing games. Munchkin 2 - Unnatural Axe is the first expansion for the original game and adds 112 cards to the base game.
The new cards introduce new foes, allies and weapons including the titular Unnatural Axe.
2. Carcassonne
Answer: The Princess and the Dragon
Carcassonne is a tile laying game in which players have to create a Medieval French landscape and gain points for completing various features such as roads, cities and monasteries. Players 'claim' features by placing one of their person shaped playing pieces on them, these playing pieces are referred to as 'meeples'. Carcassonne was first released in 2000 and won Game of the Year in the 2001 Spiel des Jahres board game awards.
The Princess and the Dragon is the third expansion for Carcassonne and was first released in 2005. The main additions to the game are the fairy and dragon pieces, the dragon joins the game when a volcano tile is placed and when a player plays a 'dragon nest' tile each player moves the dragon one tile with players alternating moves until the dragon has moved 6 tiles or cannot move further (the dragon cannot land on the same tile more than once in a move sequence). Any meeples on tiles the dragon lands on are removed from the board and returned to the player they belong to. The Fairy can be placed on a tile with a meeple and this stops the dragon from being able to land on that tile.
This expansion also includes princess tiles which allow the player to remove a meeple from the city it is added to and magic portal tiles which allow the player to place a meeple on a previously laid tile.
3. Catan
Answer: Explorers and Pirates
Catan is a board game in which players have to develop the fictional island of Catan by building features such as roads and settlements and trading resources with other players. The game was originally released in Germany in 1995 and was originally called The Settlers of Catan but the name was changed in 2015 to simply Catan.

Prosperity introduces the Platinum treasure card which costs 9 treasure and is worth 5 treasure when played and Colony, which is a new victory card worth 11 victory points.

Imploding Kittens is the first expansion pack for Exploding Kittens and introduces more card types to the game.
