Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was NOT at the Ladies Only Night with Sookie at Hooligans?

Answer: Arlene

Despite Arlene's likeability on the TV series "True Blood", she'd been long gone in the novels by this point. She'd turned against her co-workers and sold them out. She almost had Sookie killed several books back, and had not been heard from since that time. Tara was almost nine months pregnant with twins, one boy and one girl, and got quite a shock when she discovered her husband, JB du Rone, working as a stripper at the club! Also there with those two, were Holly, Michelle and Kennedy. Holly was engaged to Hoyt Fortenberry, Michelle was soon to be engaged to Jason Stackhouse, and Kennedy worked at Merlotte's with Sookie.
2. Who called Sookie and told her to arrive an hour later than originally planned to Eric's party for Felipe de Castro?

Answer: Mustapha Khan

When Sookie did arrive, Pam was very happy to see her. Pam had told Sookie to come at 8 p.m. Mustapha called Sookie a bit later and said to make it 9 p.m. instead. On "True Blood", Pam has been depicted as hating Sookie. In the books, Pam felt disinterest and slight disdain before moving on to truly caring about Sookie and their friendship.

When Sookie got to Eric's home, Pam had just returned from an alcohol run that Mustapha had sent her on.
3. A woman was found dead on the lawn at Eric's house.

Answer: True

Her named was Kym Rowe. Sookie had discovered Eric feeding from Kym shortly after she arrived at his home. She'd been appalled at Eric's state of mind, and that distress had caused Eric to quickly send Kym away. The party at his house was to allow Felipe de Castro to question the group about the disappearance of Victor Madden. Eric admitted nothing to Felipe, but made insinuations as to why Victor may have been killed. Felipe was glad to be rid of Victor, but still had to make some kind of example out of Eric. Shortly afterward, Kym's body was discovered on Eric's front lawn.

It was later revealed her neck had been snapped. Mustapha, now looking highly suspicious, had disappeared.
4. Early in the book, Sookie's co-worker was distressed about the mysterious behavior of her boyfriend Danny. What did Sookie discover was Danny's secret?

Answer: He wanted to be Bill's part time daytime man

It was Bill himself that told Sookie the news. Mustapha had been Eric's daytime man for quite a while, and Danny thought it would be a great match up. Danny hadn't wanted to tell Kennedy, as he was not sure Bill would hire him. Bill didn't need someone full time, but thought a part timer was a great way to stop imposing on Sookie.

He did hire Danny, Danny told Kennedy, and the pair made plans to move in together. Shreveport (and nearby fictional Bon Temps) is about 130 miles from Alexandria, Louisiana.
5. Who came to warn Sookie about an impending visit from the Queen of Oklahoma, just moments before the vampire arrived at her home?

Answer: Bubba

Bubba, also known as Elvis Presley, had been sent to Sookie as protection as well. Pam wanted someone strong with Sookie when Freyda arrived. Freyda wanted to feel Sookie out, since Eric seemed to care so much for her. It had been the arrangement that Freyda could have Eric as her consort for Oklahoma. Eric's real maker, Appius, had arranged the marriage before he died. Eric was legally bound to the agreement. Sookie already knew this, but in her heart hoped Eric would love her enough to find a way out of it. Freyda seemed satisfied Sookie held no real threat to her and decided to leave.

Then, she had Sookie admit to killing vampires, werewolves and fairies right on her own property. This made Freyda realize Sookie was more capable than she appeared. Sookie sensed the danger immediately and rescinded the verbal invite into her home.
6. Which of these people did NOT know Sookie had possession of the cluviel dor?

Answer: Jason

The device was the last of its kind, held the power of a magical wish, and was highly coveted by all. It was given to Adele Stackhouse by her lover Fintan, and now Sookie had possession of it. Niall admitted at the end of the book that he'd been the one to tell Eric she had the device.

He said she needed to see for herself what power it would hold over him. Eric wanted Sookie to use it for his sake, to remove his obligation to Freyda. Sookie felt that was too easy. She knew for a fact that Eric could own his choice and not marry Freyda.

She knew he wanted an easy way out of it. She felt that was not a good enough reason to use the magic. It had to be used for something more important than keeping Eric nearby her. Her fae family sensed the object too, making her way more appealing to all of them.

She knew that if they realized she truly had it, her life could be in real danger. Claude had searched her house many times over for it, and even broke into Splendide to search the old pieces she sold them.
7. What dish did Jason ask Sookie to make for his special dinner with Michelle's parents?

Answer: sweet potato casserole

She told her brother she would make him the special treat. And, she was in the process of making the dish when Donald Callaway arrived at her home. Donald was one of the proprietors of Spendide. He'd come to realize Sookie was in possession of a powerful item.

He'd actually seen it before alerting her to its location in a prior book, but had not realized exactly what its worth may be at that time. Unfortunately, the idea had corrupted poor Donald and he ended up dead at the hands of Sookie's Godfather, Mr. Cataliades.

Afterward, Diantha disguised herself as Donald and drove his body, in the trunk of his car, to be abandoned at the airport. Sookie found out that another telepath, whom she referred to as Berry the Bellboy, was Mr. Cataliades' great-great-grandson. Sookie met Barry Horowitz in book two, "Living Dead in Dallas".

They crossed paths once more in book seven, "All Together Dead".
8. Which vampire aided Bill and Sookie in the rescue of a human man named Colton?

Answer: Palomino

Palomino was a very attractive vampire lady, who looked a bit like Sookie. So, Sookie disguised herself like Palomino, and they infiltrated Felipe's suite at Trifecta. Sookie could impersonate Palomino, so she herself could be downstairs and seen on video camera. That would save her from Felipe's wrath later. Colton had been witness to the murder of Victor Madden at Fangtasia, but Bill had glamored him to ease the pain of his lover's death.

They were able to save Colton, but were headed off by a small group of Weres in the parking garage. Sookie urged Bill to take the human to safety and she'd go with them to identify a body.

The entire thing was bogus, and Sookie was on her way, once more, toward her own death. Alcide is a Were, and Bellenos is a fae. Jessica is a vampire on "True Blood".
9. Did Mustapha Khan kill Jannalynn?

Answer: Yes

First, Sookie received confirmation that Claude betrayed her. He gave Kym Rowe his blood to intoxicate Eric at his party. He had Jannalynn orchestrate all of that to try and keep his culpability a secret. Jannalynn killed Kym Rowe that night at Eric's house, which she admitted to the cops later.

He had also been the one to curse Dermot all of those years earlier. It was not Niall, nor was it Murray as Claude had claimed. Sookie had killed Murray herself out in her own driveway. Niall took all of the fae back into Faery and sealed the portal for good.

Then, Jannalynn was caught and brought up for a face off with Mustapha. She'd held his good friend Warren captive to yield leverage over Mustapha, but had not tended to the man at all. They'd found him suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion, and only Bill's blood had saved him in time. During his fight with her, Jannalynn made an attempt on Alcide's life, but her sword hit Sam instead.

In her shock over that, Jannalynn stood still. This allowed Mustapha to behead her quickly.
10. Whose life did Sookie save by using the cluviel dor?

Answer: Sam's

Jannalynn's sword, meant for Alcide, had offered a fatal wound to Sam. He died out at the Pack's hideaway. With the Pack and Eric looking on, Sookie placed the magical token on Sam's chest and commanded, "Sam. Live." She placed her hand over his fatal neck wound and commanded once more, "Live." His wound repaired magically and his heart began to beat again.

He woke up and said, "I was dead". He wanted to know how she'd saved him, and she said she'd tell him later. Eric disappeared from the scene without a word. Sam stayed the night with Sookie, and once more asked how that cluviel dor had worked.

She knew it was because she loved him, but wanted to save that for another day.
