Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. John Riggs, Reindeer, Antler Ridge

Answer: Prancer

"Prancer" was a Christmas movie that came out in November 1989. Jessie Riggs (Rebecca Harrell) was a little girl who found a hurt reindeer and believed it to be one of Santa's reindeer, named Prancer. She kept Prancer on their property to nurse him back to health until her father, John (Sam Elliot), found him. John sold a perfectly healed Prancer to a Christmas attraction in town. While trying to rescue Prancer so he could get back to Santa, Jessie was injured. After her accident, John realized how much Prancer meant to her and helped Jessie release Prancer at Antler Ridge. Prancer was reunited with Santa's sleigh and was last seen heading toward the Riggs house to deliver presents.

Prancer was played by a pregnant female reindeer named Boo. A pregnant female reindeer was used for the movie because they keep their antlers longer than a male reindeer.

Answer: The Polar Express

"The Polar Express" was a movie that came out in October 2004. The movie immediately told you it was Christmas Eve at an unnamed boy's house. 6. Alan, DJ, Ice Cream

Answer: Comfort & Joy

The Scottish film "Comfort & Joy", came out in May 1984. Alan Bird was a DJ from six to nine, who also announced the traffic report. He spent the majority of the movie being the mediator between two rival ice cream truck owners who just happened to be related to each other. Alan finally got them to join together and make an ice cream treat that used each of their different cooking talents. By the end of the movie, Alan was advertising a new ice cream treat on his radio show.

Scottish actor Peter Capaldi provided all the ice cream for the movie as well as the story of the ice cream truck wars as his family went through it when he was a boy.

Finally, Christmas came around and the BB gun was the last gift Ralphie opened. Almost immediately, viewers can guess what he's going to do and, yes, it happened. While shooting the BB gun Ralphie broke his glasses and hurt the area under his eye.

While at home, Mr. Scrooge was visited by three ghosts, each one showed him a different time in his life. After the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come showed Scrooge his grave, Ebenezer Scrooge vowed to change his miserly ways and began by sending Christmas dinner to the Cratchits and gave money to charities he had once declined to give too.

The Muppets are only one of many shows to take on "A Christmas Carol". Jim Henson's son, Brian, took up the mantel after his father's death and was talked into turning the Dickens' book into a Muppet's movie. ABC bought the rights as a TV movie.

The French movie "A Christmas Tale", came out in May 2008. Catherine Deneuve played Junon, a mother who had leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. Her family came together for Christmas only to learn their mother needed a transplant from one of them. Junon's three children didn't have a good relationship with their mother and found it hard to come to terms with the fact that she wanted one of them to be a donor. Junon and Abel's middle child Henri learned he was a match for his mother, but Junon believed that even with the transplant she would still die.

Henri flipped a coin to see if his mother would live or die. The movie ended before the result was shown.

While Buddy lived with his father, stepmother and half brother, he worked as an elf at Gimbles Department Store. He showed his stodgy father how to loosen up and have fun, while showing his co-workers how to enjoy the Christmas holiday. When Santa's sleigh broke down, it took all of New York City to help bring back the Christmas spirit so Santa could get the presents delivered on time.
