Ivanova wants to continue her task of finding the First Ones that she started in "Voices of Authority".

Ivanova: "Delenn, I need a favor."

Delenn: "You have only to ask."

Ivanova: "I need to borrow one of the White Star ships. I heard what you have in mind; I'll get it back to you before the deadline."

Marcus: "We can spare the ship, but may I ask why?"

Ivanova: If you're gonna attack Z'ha'dum, you're gonna need all the help you can get. And there may still be some First Ones out there that we haven't found yet. I have all the information at hand that I need to go out looking for them. Some of them might be at least as strong as the Shadows. We found one last time we tried. I think if we get a few more to sign on..."

Answer: "Shadow Dancing"

Marcus offers to teach Ivanova Minbari in "Shadow Dancing". Ivanova objects, saying that it would take her a year to learn. She surprises Marcus and Delenn with the news that she has been learning to speak Minbari. While Ivanova has certainly been studying hard, she doesn't quite have it down.

Ivanova: "I've been teaching myself Minbari. I figured, what the heck! It gave me something to do. I can handle the crew."

Delenn: "Ours is a very difficult language."

Ivanova: "I know, but, uh, it's okay. Flak'sha [Engines at full] Shin'drabi [high power] Hat'rashu [hatrack ratcatcher] and dolo [to port weapons] ishi'den [brickbat lingerie]."

Answer: Jesus was sentenced to death (Mark 15:12-15)

Although the creator of "Babylon 5", J. Michael Straczynski, is an atheist, he often chooses to include traditions and histories from many Earth religions in the episodes. G'Kar is never actual tried or sentenced to death in this episode although death could result from his torture.

In the first scene with G'Kar, he is being mocked and abused by members of the Royal Court. He even has some sort of spiked ring on his head. One of the courtiers comments, "He slipped on his pride, and fell on his honor!"

In the garden, Cartagia has just finished with a round of torture with G'Kar. His hands are bloodied and he washes them in a bowl of water. He tells Londo: "I know I made a present of him to you, Mollari, but, if I don't get my scream, he'll have to be killed. You do understand, don't you?" This suggests that G'Kar's fate is in his own hands, all dependent on whether he screams or not.

G'Kar is flogged with an electro-whip:

Cartagia: "The electro-whip is set to give an increasing level of pain each time it is used. At forty strokes it will kill even a Narn. It stops when he screams."

Londo: "Majesty, there must be another..."

Cartagia: "I must have my scream. If he does not scream, he dies at forty. It's his choice, not mine."

G'Kar keeps silent until after the 39th stroke, showing maximum resistance while still escaping death.

Answer: satisfying

Marcus: "At least a dozen ships have reported seeing something rather godlike in the area. And since neither you nor I were there, it must be one of the First Ones."

Susan: "You're having delusions of grandeur again."

Marcus: "Well, if you're gonna have delusions, you may as well go for the really satisfying ones."

Answer: Vir

Vir doesn't really have the stomach for conspiracies and assassinations, but even he has his breaking point.

Vir: "How can you see G'Kar like that and feel nothing?"

Londo: "I feel, Vir! I wish that I didn't. It would make this much easier. But we must play along until the time is right."

Vir: "I don't know if G'Kar can survive that long!"

Londo: "He will survive. He must! For my sake, as well as his own. If we succeed, we will take back our world from Cartagia, and G'Kar will win back his as well. That was our deal."

Vir: "But I hear that they're torturing him! Apparently Cartagia was dissatisfied with his performance this morning."

Londo: "As I told you. A monster."

Vir: "I know, I know! It's just that I've never been involved in a consp... I've never been involved in a conspiracy to kill anyone before, not to mention the Emperor. I thought we were past this centuries ago. I mean, there's got to be another way, Londo. I mean, can't we reason with him or something..."

Cartagia appears in the garden ranting about how uncooperative G'Kar is, even under torture. Vir and Londo try not to look too disgusted, but the scene is enough for Vir to change his mind.

Vir: "Londo. Remember what I said before about there must be another way? I was wrong. Kill him!"

Answer: Delenn

With the entire command staff either missing or out on other missions, it seems that Delenn has taken up the slack. Luckily, it is finally time for Garibaldi to return home, but with some unfortunate side effects.

Zack: "Convoy 1 to C&C. Standing by."

Delenn: "Clear to proceed, Mr. Allan. Good hunting to you."

Answer: He is a virgin.

Marcus: "Anyone special waiting for you back home?"

Ivanova: "No, not anymore. You?"

Marcus: "Someone. She doesn't know it yet."

Ivanova: "That's a strange way to pursue a relationship."

Marcus: "I suppose so. I want this thing to go right. I want it to be special."

Ivanova: "Oh. A romantic. I don't think I've felt that way since the first time."

Marcus: "That's what I'm talking about."

Ivanova: "You mean you don't...you haven't..."

Marcus: "Yes."

Ivanova: "You're a..."

Marcus: "Exactly."

Ivanova: "With anyone?"

Marcus: "Never met the right person before."

Answer: pain technician

Cartagia: "He refuses to bow! He refuses to drink!"

Londo: "Majesty."

Cartagia: "Do you know that we assigned him one of our best pain technicians? Pain technicians! They used to be called torturers. Ever since they got organized, it's pain technicians. Why are you here?"

Vir: "I..."

Cartagia: "One of our very best torturers. I felt certain he would break him. Two hours he worked. Not a sound! I said, 'Give me a cry, give me a shout, a whimper, a scream. Silence! So, I got into it myself. You can't leave these things to others, they never get it right. I'm beginning to understand what you're going through with this G'Kar. How you've put up with him this long, I've no idea."

Answer: Brakiri

Lethke: "The other League worlds are worried about your decision to attack Z'ha'dum. They believe in doing so you will only provoke a deadly response."

Delenn: "Response is coming either way. The Shadows will strike again soon. We have nothing more to lose."

Lethke: "Unfortunately, people never believe they have nothing else to lose until they've already lost it. They're afraid!"

Delenn: "We're all afraid."

Lethke: "But their fear may cause them to act against you. They asked if I would attend an open rally to protest your actions. They hope to stir up popular support to cause the few worlds that have sided with you to withdraw their ships."

Delenn: "Do you know when?"

Lethke: "Later today. That's all I know. When I declined to participate, they kept the rest of the information from me. How do you plan to stop them?"

Answer: "All Alone in the Night"

Sheridan's dream in "All Alone in the Night" included a flash of Sheridan gripping the railing of the catwalk looking determined.

Answer: now thousand forever

Drazi ambassador: "Captain... We're sorry. We thought you were dead!"

Sheridan: "I was. I'm better now. The ambassador is correct. I went to Z'ha'dum. I've seen the face of the enemy. They're not gods, and they're not indestructible! I've fought them, and I've killed many of them. And I've survived. There is a way out of this, a way to stop this insanity once and for all. Now, Delenn's fleet is a start. Now we have to build on it. Together we will form the largest fleet in history. Not just for a battle, but to change the shape of the galaxy. Not just for ourselves, but for our children. And our children's children! You tell your governments that the only man to survive Z'ha'dum sends this message: We can end this. Not just for now, not just for the next thousand years, but forever. I stand before you as proof that it can be done. We can fight, and we can win, but only if we do it together. Can I count on you? Can I count on you? Will you stand together?"

Lennier accompanied Delenn right into the middle of the mob. After Sheridan arrives on the station, Garibaldi and Zack follow him to the Central Corridor where the rally is taking place. Ivanova did not attend, she was probably trying to deal with the new information about the Vorlon fleet.

Answer: Vorlons

Sheridan: "When most of the First Ones left, two of them, the Shadows and the Vorlons, stayed behind. Their job was to keep an eye on the younger races, help them along, but they couldn't decide or agree on what had to be done. The Vorlons believe that strength comes through order and discipline. The Shadows believe in promoting evolution through conflict, starting wars."

Lennier: "Those are diametrically opposite positions."

Sheridan: "Exactly. Now at first, there was a balance between the two sides. They abided by rules of engagement, respected each other's positions. But that changed over time."

Answer: Garibaldi

Garibaldi: "I just want to know who our new best friend is, over here."

Sheridan: "His name is Lorien. That's all you need to know for now."

Garibaldi: "Yeah? Who decided that?"

Sheridan: "He did."

Garibaldi: "Well, isn't that convenient?"

Sheridan: "Michael, what the hell is that? I told you I trust him."

Garibaldi: "I know, I know, secrets on top of secrets, right? I'm getting too old for this stuff! What, that's funny to you [Lorien]?"

Sheridan: "Lorien is older than he looks."

Answer: Arcata 7

Coriana 6 is the location of the last battle of the Shadow War. Arisia Colony is where Marcus grew up. Greater Krindar was a planet listed as accepting refugees from the Shadows/Vorlons.

Ivanova: "When Marcus and I were out looking for the First Ones, we came across a Vorlon fleet hiding in hyperspace."

Marcus: "Not dozens, not hundreds, but thousands of ships. A couple of them were three, four miles across. We tried to track them, but we lost them somewhere around Sector 70."

Delenn: "There's a Shadow base not far from there."

Ivanova: "Exactly. So as soon as we got back, I had C&C monitor that area for any transmissions, anything unusual. The Shadow base was located on a planet called Arcata 7. It's not there anymore."

Lennier: "The base?"

Lyta: "No. The planet. They destroyed an entire planet!"

Franklin: "Lyta, there are over four million people on Arcata 7."
