Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The episode is named "Hit and Run" because of a car accident.

Answer: False

Although a car and reckless driving are involved, no one is hit. And it's certainly not an accident. Jimmy and Kim's plan to discredit Howard Hamlin is going well. They have already spread rumours about him being addicted to cocaine. Plus planted a bag (actually baby-powder) in his locker. Now Jimmy "borrows" Howard's jaguar. Kim arranges to meet Cliff Main at a certain outdoor restaurant at a certain time. On schedule, Jimmy/Howard drives the stolen car erratically, abruptly stops in front of Cliff, and pushes a poor screaming call-girl out onto the road. Cliff cannot believe it! Was that HOWARD?????
2. Jimmy/Saul nicknames a friend who works the courthouse "Hannah Montana".

Answer: False

He actually calls the bubbly girl "Hannah Banana". For years they've had a pleasant relationship. She'd smile and say "Hey, Jimmy." when they meet. But today, for some reason, she abruptly turns away from him. But why?
3. Why are the court staff so hostile toward Jimmy/Saul?

Answer: He let Lalo escape custody

Saul cannot understand. He goes to the Court House, like he's done hundreds of times. But today, guards insist on searching him more thoroughly, clerks hardly speak to him, and no one will sit with him at lunchtime. Saul asks Bill Oakley why. Oakley reveals it's now common knowledge Saul "scammed the court" to set a "murdering cartel psychopath" free. Saul makes matters worse by shouting "Prove it - Bill!", instead of denying it.
From this moment on, nobody will remember this man as Jimmy McGill "the big-mouth lawyer with a bigger heart". Only Saul Goodman, the criminal Criminal Lawyer. Sad.
4. The mysterious men tailing Kim and Saul are undercover cops.

Answer: False

Actually they turn out to be Mike and Gus' men. Kim tells Jimmy one night she is sure she is being followed. But by whom? Shortly after, Kim confronts the two men parked nearby. But they quickly drive away. Leaving her none the wiser.
5. What character from "Breaking Bad" Season 2 appears in this episode?

Answer: Spooge

Jimmy/Saul returns to his Nail-Saloon office one afternoon to a surprising scene. His landlady is even more annoyed with him than usual. About a dozen dodgy-looking people have turned up and won't go away. But Saul is pleased - new paying clients! They all heard about how he set Lalo free, and now want to hire him. The nearest one "Spooge" introduces himself. He becomes a regular client of Saul's...
...until four years later, when Spooge's wife crushes his head under a stolen ATM machine.
6. This is the first episode Mike and Kim ever meet face-to-face.

Answer: True

For the first five seasons, these two main characters never meet. Many fans assumed the show's legal characters and the ILLEGAL characters would never cross paths - two different worlds, etc. Well...for the most part that is true. But sadly that's no longer the case (but that's another story - future episode). Mike informs Kim the men who've been following her and Jimmy work for him. Kim realises Mike is the mysterious man who saved her husband in the desert (plus once a parking attendant at the courthouse). Mike explains Lalo Salamanca is still alive, and Mike's boss wants everyone to be safe. Kim decides not to tell Jimmy.

It's a one-in-a-million chance Lalo would go anywhere near either lawyer, for one thing.
7. How are the husband and wife cycling at the episode's opening connected to Gus?

Answer: His Neighbours

They actually live in the house across the road from Gus. One day, they are out cycling, gossiping about other neighbours, etc. A typical suburban couple's day. But when they walk into their home, there are armed men present. But the couple don't seem to notice; just carry on talking. It turns out years ago Gus built a tunnel underneath his home to his neighbours' basement (the husband and wife are on his payroll). Gus is now staying with them, while a look-a-like stays in the other house.

The armed security detail have cameras and video monitors - in both homes. All under the orders of Mike.

These improvisations are necessary until Lalo is found.
8. Who is Howard visiting when Jimmy "borrows" his car?

Answer: His shrink

Jimmy has dyed his hair and changed his suit to look like Howard. He did so two years ago (Season 1) when trying to drum up business (long story!). With Kim meeting Cliff soon, he has to hurry. He follows Howard to the shrink's office, "borrows" Howard's car, and leaves an orange traffic cone in its place. Howard is telling the shrink about marital problems and odd dreams - no idea his precious jaguar is gone.
But when Jimmy/Howard/Saul returns, someone has parked in the same spot, removing the traffic cone. Oh oh! Now what?
Jimmy panics. But then he parks in a Disabled spot next to the new car. Thinking quickly - and using superhuman strength - Saul pulls out the "Patients Only" sign from the ground, and plants it in front of the jaguar's new parking spot. So (hopefully!) Howard won't realise his car is now parked in a different spot.
Just in time! Howard's leaving the shrink's office and Jimmy takes off. Howard doesn't spot his look-a-like, nor that his car has moved. PHEW!
9. What character from "Breaking Bad" do Jimmy and Kim hire in this episode?

Answer: Wendy - The Call Girl

To continue fooling Cliff about Howard's "double-life", they need to hire an escort. Wendy - whose teeth will look just as awful in 2008! - meets Saul in Howard's "borrowed" car. As agreed, he "pushes" Wendy out onto the road in front of Cliff. She screams abuse as "Howard" drives off and leaves her.
Fans of both shows believe Wendy's theme song in "Breaking Bad" Season 3 is "Wendy" by Association. But it turns out of the 1967 song is actually named "WINDY"! Who knew?
10. What's significant about the building Kim's husband shows her at the end of the episode?

Answer: It's his new office

After all these years, Jimmy/Saul is kicked out of the Nail Saloon. Mrs. Nguyen has had enough of her tenant. Helping himself to the cucumber water, keeping cellphones in the place, etc. But all these dodgy and disgusting people turning up is the last straw!
The new office is part of a strip-mall. That night when the two lawyer look through the window, all they see is a toilet. The place is empty, otherwise.
No idea this will be a permanent arrangement, Jimmy assures Kim "It's temporary."
Well...in a way it was. He didn't stay there for good; he disappeared in 2010 when the police were after him.
