Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. For the first time, racers started their cross-country adventure in what central province?

Answer: Manitoba

On the edge of the Red River, ten new teams embarked on a race across Canada for a cash prize by crossing the Esplanade Riel into Downtown Winnipeg. Their time in this central province was short, only allowing them to complete a task searching through the comprehensive collection of Inuit art at the Winnipeg Art Gallery before picking up tickets on a flight to Calgary, Alberta.

These two provinces were encountered in the same day, leading teams to race from early on until sundown in Alberta.
2. Calgary, visited in the race's first leg, was home to how many Express Passes?

Answer: Three

While teams rushed through Calgary completing their first Road Block and Detour challenges, some pursued the Express Passes hiding in the pages of a specific book in the Calgary Central Library. Ty and Kat managed to claim all three, inevitably handing them out to Ben and Anwar and Tyler and Kayleen as the race went on.

The other teams, meanwhile, proceeded through a face-first rappel, drum circles, and pancake-making before heading to the Pit Stop at the Peace Bridge.
3. Teams raced through the mountains of British Columbia in Legs 2 and 3. Which of these locations, depicted, did they visit last?

Answer: Pemberton

The mountains of B.C. provided a backdrop through not one, but two early legs of the race as teams flew to the small town of Smithers in Leg 2 and then proceeded to Whistler and Pemberton in Leg 3. The Whistler-Pemberton leg proved to be a tough one, especially for Jermaine and Justin (who took two penalties and arrived at the Pit Stop to avoid elimination nonetheless).

In addition to a bungee jump Road Block in Whistler, racers had to set up wedding table settings on an expansive ranch and search their way through the Big Sky Golf Club to find Jon and the Pit Stop.
4. Chesterman Beach, on Vancouver Island's coast, contained both Leg 5's Detour and which other task?

Answer: Road Block

After a visit to Victoria, B.C. in Leg 4, teams drove up and along the west coast of Vancouver Island to the surf towns of Tofino and Ucluelet. In addition to a handful of challenges in and around the beaches, ports, and bodies of water throughout the region, racers encountered their first Pass of the race (and it was a Blind Double Pass).

This race mechanic ultimately led to the unexpected elimination of front-runners Gracie and Lily, who dropped to the back of the pack in time for the aerialist Road Block at the end of the day and checked in in last place.
5. Racers had to identify which of these during a brief visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Leg 6?

Answer: Wines

Southern Ontario is where teams headed as they crossed the race's halfway point in Leg 6, and after visiting the wineries and waterways of the St. Catharines/Welland area, they drove themselves to the border town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to indulge a bit with some smell-tests. If racers could correctly match wines to their ingredients at a local wine shop, they could get their clues and head to the next Pit Stop mat at Fort Mississauga. What they didn't realize was that they would keep on racing directly into Leg 7 as soon as they arrived at the mat, meaning no elimination when it was all said and done.
6. Racers completed tasks on the waterfront in Windsor in Leg 7, overlooking what U.S. city across the way?

Answer: Detroit

Teams took the train from the Niagara Region to the far southwest of Ontario, stopping in the border city of Windsor overlooking the Detroit River. While tasks took teams all over the region, one of the Blind Detour options had racers constructing complicated puzzles at the Windsor Sculpture Park, right on the water's edge at the Canada-U.S. border.

Other racers, unable to complete this limited space Detour option, had to learn a swing dance routine instead.
7. Point Pelee was Leg 7's Pit Stop location, and it marks what compass extreme for the country?

Answer: The southernmost point in Canada

When racers cleared their Face Off challenge (playing blackjack) in Windsor, they were required to drive deep into rural Southern Ontario to find the Port Alma Wind Farm for one last task before heading onward to the seventh Pit Stop mat of the race, right at the southern tip of Canada in Point Pelee National Park (where Derek and Jaspal were eliminated in sixth). Notably, this is the second time that "The Amazing Race Canada" reached a compass extreme, having ended the first season's penultimate leg at Cape Spear, Newfoundland.
8. Along a via ferrata in Saguenay, Quebec (in Leg 8), Road Blocked racers had to find which of these along a fjord?

Answer: A code

In this season's sole French region leg, five teams took the train to Montreal and flew to the Saguenay region, driving around completing mostly-outdoor activities (like carrying a tourtičre through an obstacle course and riding around a go-kart track).

In addition to encountering another Double Pass (which wasn't used), racers had to complete a Road Block that had one person climbing around the via ferrata at Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux. Finding the code there and solving the puzzle provided would send them to the Pit Stop at La Pulperie de Chicoutimi.
9. Team members climbed the OCAD building from below in what Canadian city in Leg 9?

Answer: Toronto

A lengthy leg through Ontario's capital and Canada's largest city awaited the final four teams as they prepared for the finale, and it began with ringing the bell at the Toronto Stock Exchange before they all ran off to the Ontario College of Art & Design University campus.

There, one racer from each team had to use a mechanical ascender to climb to the underside of the tabletop structure to get their clue. In this leg, teams also had to complete a tennis Face Off, learn a fake language to speak to aliens, and perform a complicated shopping trip across four of Toronto's west end neighbourhoods before checking in at the Pit Stop on the edge of Lake Ontario.
10. In the final leg of the race, the top three teams made their way around the harbour in what Maritime capital city?

Answer: Halifax

The final three performed a lengthy leg through the Nova Scotian capital to cap off the race and in addition to joining the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, they raced in and around the famous Halifax Harbour, completing their last Road Block on the water and their final memory task-- a massive crossword puzzle about the race-- on the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk.

When they had it all completed, they raced off to the finish line at the Bonaventure Anchor at Point Pleasant Park and Ty and Kat were declared the winners of the $250,000 CAD prize.
