Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode 462: "Moe Letter Blues". In this episode, three members of Springfield receive a letter from Moe telling them that he is planning on running off with one of their wives. Which of these people does NOT receive such a letter?

Answer: Ned

In the end, it was a ploy devised by Moe to make the men appreciate their wives, and it works brilliantly. Homer doesn't know whether to kiss Moe or punch him, so he does both!
2. Episode 463: "The Bob Next Door". Despite seeing that Sideshow Bob remains locked up, the Simpsons' new next door neighbor in fact turns out to be Sideshow Bob.

Answer: True

In a plot taken from the film "Face/Off", Sideshow Bob transplants his face onto another man and moves in next door to the Simpson family. In a cliffhanger ending, Bob attempts to kill Bart (yes, again) at the "five corners" where five states meet, but he is arrested when surrounded by police from several states.
3. Episode 464: "Judge Me Tender". This Season 21 finale is full of guest appearances. Which "American Idol" judge was NOT among them?

Answer: Harry Connick Jr

This episode found itself in a tough timeslot, up against the final ever episode of "Lost". The writers accordingly added the following couch gag to the opening credits: '"End of "Lost": it was all the dog's dream. Watch us.'
4. Episode 465: "Elementary School Musical". This episode opens with which surprising announcement?

Answer: Krusty has won the Nobel Peace Prize

Krusty's prize turns out to be a ruse to get him to Oslo so he can be tried in the International Court of Justice for a number of crimes, including dropping a monkey from the Eiffel Tower. In a parallel plot, Lisa goes to performing arts camp and becomes obsessed (for a while) with making drama her life.
5. Episode 466: "Loan-a Lisa". Who does Lisa help to get his bicycle repair business started?

Answer: Nelson

Lisa's kindness backfires when Nelson's business is doing so well that he drops out of school. He's also convinced by the success of Mark Zuckerberg (who plays a guest role) that school is not necessary for success.
6. Episode 467: "MoneyBART". Which character coaches Bart's team, the Isotots, and finds great success in applying statistical models to win matches?

Answer: Lisa

Lisa learns 'sabermatics', a way to apply detailed statistics to baseball in order to make the most of each play. Bart eventually rebels against her approach, costing the Isotots the championship, but the siblings make up and agree that sometimes the game should just be enjoyed.
7. Episode 468: "Treehouse of Horror XXI". In the story "War and Pieces", Bart and Milhouse must win every board game in front of them in order to survive. Do they succeed?

Answer: No

Bart wins Scrabble, but Milhouse guesses the wrong letter in Hangman (he guesses '3' instead of a letter) and they are both hung. The other stories in this "Treehouse" installment were "Master and Cadaver" and "Tweenlight" (a parody of the vampire series, "Twilight").
8. Episode 469: "Lisa Simpson, This Isn't Your Life". Which cartoon has collectible figurines that Maggie becomes obsessed with?

Answer: "Happy little elves"

Homer tries to find the rare "Baby Must Have" toy for Maggie, and continually buys gas in order to increase his chances. Meanwhile, Lisa decides she needs to change to increase her chances of going to college, but hurts Marge's feelings in the process.
9. Episode 470: "The Fool Monty". When Mr Burns becomes angry at the town, he considers covering them with a dome. Why does he decide not to go ahead with it?

Answer: He is reminded he's done it before

This echoes the plot of the "Simpsons Movie". When Burns is told he has six weeks to live, he discovers that no-one in town likes him (except Smithers) and attempts suicide, which only leads to a bad case of amnesia. He ends up living well beyond the six weeks (of course!).
10. Episode 471: "How Munched is That Birdie in the Window?". Homer gets into a fight with which type of bird?

Answer: Ostrich

When a pigeon breaks its wing on Bart's window, Lisa also reveals that she has ornithophobia (a fear of birds) leaving Bart to care it back to health. However, Santa's Little Helper eats the bird, leaving Bart with (in his mind) needing to take the dog to an ostrich farm to live.
11. Episode 472: "The Fight Before Christmas". In the first of four stories, Bart travels to the North Pole. Why?

Answer: To kill Santa

Bart is angry that Santa didn't get him the dirt bike he asked for. But upon meeting Santa (played by Krusty), Bart feels pity as he realises Santa has run out of money.
12. Episode 473: "Donnie Fatso". Fat Tony dies in this episode.

Answer: True

Homer goes undercover to infiltrate the Springfield mob. Fat Tony has a heart attack and dies when he finds out Homer has betrayed him. But he is replaced by Fit Tony, who overeats and becomes the new Fat Tony!
13. Episode 474: "Moms I'd Like to Forget". When Bart was young, Marge was in a Moms group called what?

Answer: "The Cool Moms"

Bart discovers that he has a strange scar that's the same as one of his classmates. It turns out to be the result of a firework burn, caused by Comic Book Guy's sandwich and some naughty young boys.
14. Episode 475: "Flaming Moe". Mirroring the plot of several other episodes, Moe changes his bar to entice new customers. What is the theme of his new bar, Mo's?

Answer: A gay bar

Not to be confused with the Season 3 episode, "Flaming Moe's", this episode centers around Moe's attempt to attract a new clientele, namely the gay community. Eventually people assume Moe himself is gay and convince him to run as a councillor.
15. Episode 476: "Homer the Father". How does Bart decide to get the mini-bike he really wants?

Answer: Selling nuclear secrets to the Chinese

In the end Bart backs out of the deal out of guilt for betraying his country, but Homer goes through with it. However, the information is obviously poor, because the Chinese facility explodes on opening. In the end, father and son bond (not for the first time) in front of a TV show.
