Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first season of "The Traitors (AU)" had twenty-four contestants. How many played the game this time around?

Answer: Twenty

This time, twenty new contestants (most civilians, but some entertainers) were brought in to the ol' Southern Highlands hotel for the chance to win up to $250,000 AUD in silver bars. Upon arriving, they were brought almost immediately into the banishment room and the round table to meet Rodger and, with that, they kicked the game off, putting on blindfolds and waiting for Rodger's yea or nay.

This season, Rodger chose three Traitors: Blake, Ash, and Sam. With a touch of the shoulder, the game was afoot.

The Traitors would learn of each others' identities on Night 1 after an initial chat at which point they would make their first murder move.
2. For every Silver Mission, the contestants were required to wear which of these?

Answer: Tracksuits

The games kicked off on the very first day of the competition with a $40,000 AUD Silver Mission involving great physical strain (and massive trojan horses). Some of these, as they came up through the competition, would be team challenges (as in, a red team vs. a blue team) while some would simply be a combined effort. Nevertheless, all missions would end up involving a team pot, the contents of which would reach up to a quarter of a million dollars. For each of these, the competitors would need to don an Adidas tracksuit with their name on the back.

Some would be more active than others.
3. It took only a four days for the first Traitor to be exposed and banished from the game. Who was it?

Answer: Ash

Sam started planting the seeds for Ash (with Annabel) on Day 3, aiming for a brash move to frame himself as a Traitor Hunter and throw the suspicion off himself. With this in mind, the preemptive plan was to ingratiate himself with the Faithfuls, establishing himself as the 'Sheriff', capable of taking down anyone with his educated "guessing".

He helped push Gyton on Day 2, but by Day 3, he was able to get enough takers to push Ash out in the most scattered Banishment of the season. Ash was sent home in a vote of 8-2-2-1-1-1, securing the easy Traitor out and leaving Blake and Sam to vie for the endgame.
4. This season saw an unprecedented scenario in which every single banishment had a unanimous vote.

Answer: False

While there were no ties, there was a large handful of votes which didn't receive unanimous votes. This said, it took until only six contestants remained before the unanimous votes started coming out, partly because the numbers were as such that the group could be manipulated to that extreme.

The only player who was able to take more than ten votes was Gyton, during the second Banishment. In the show's first season, three people took more than ten votes in a single Banishment.
5. This season also saw the return of the Shield. How many different players obtained it?

Answer: Five

While the players had a few opportunities the previous season to claim a Shield of Protection (often in plain sight), this season introduced the hidden Armory, putting the device into effect from the very first Silver Mission. For most of the first seven Silver Missions, the winning team could head into the Armory and search amongst the boxes for one containing the Shield, and this would protect them from Murder for one night.

They would not be obligated to announce if they have the Shield, so in theory, the Traitors could attempt to get rid of them and fail.

As for recipients, Simone had it twice (in a row), Liam had it twice (also in a row), Blake and Sam had it once each, and finally Keith was banished with it in-hand.
6. Generally, a Shield is obtained from the Armory. How many of them were not?

Answer: Two

On two occasions-- the fourth and the seventh-- the winning competitors at the Silver Mission competed in a subsequent Shield mission instead of opening boxes. While the Armory offers the benefit of the participants not needing to reveal their possession of the Shield, a mission leaves this out in the open. On Day 5, this challenge involved flaming crossbow bolts and a demonstration of peoples' personal beliefs as to who was the Traitor. Liam won this one and retained a number of votes at the upcoming banishment (but was spared, fortunately for him). On Day 8, this challenge (involving all remaining players), involved tossing hatchets.
7. After four opportunities to recruit or murder a Faithful, the Traitors finally opted to recruit a player into their fold. Who did they choose?

Answer: Camille

Starting immediately after Ash's Banishment on Day 4, Sam and Blake received new instructions in the Traitor Tower which allowed them to choose between two options; they could either Murder a Faithful, as they'd been doing thus far, or they could add a Faithful to their ranks as a Traitor, recruiting them with an invitation (which could be declined, in theory).

The invitation wasn't extended until Day 8 when, during a pivotal moment (of argument), Rodger informed the Traitors that they would have only one final opportunity to recruit.

They elected to offer the invitation to Camille to avoid retaining suspicion. She accepted the offer.
8. This season, were any Banished/Murdered players were brought back into the game.

Answer: No

This is generally not something that happens on any of the versions of the show no matter where it is in the world-- Banishment and Murder have consequences for the game. As a result of this, this second Australian season was fast-paced with only nine episodes (there were twelve in the previous season, with only four more players). One item to note is that every Banishment prior to the finale was followed by a murder this season save for one-- the one in which Camille was recruited. Had the Traitors offered the letter of recruitment earlier, there is the possibility that the game would have been extended to compensate due to the lesser amount of Murders.
9. How many Faithfuls made it to the end of the game?

Answer: None

Against all odds, the Traitors managed to maneuver themselves to what would seem to be an ideal situation, obtaining the majority in the late stages of the game and systematically removing the remaining Faithfuls with a series of Banishments where they simply couldn't fight back.

The final days of the competition resulted in unanimous votes wherein Sam, Blake, and Camille removed Gloria, Liam, and Sarah-- all of whom pointed the finger at Sam in their final moments, too little too late.
10. How many people left the game with a portion of the final prize pot?

Answer: None

With three Traitors standing at the end of the game, there could be a few possible outcomes:
-If all three Traitors elected to share the prize, they would, splitting the $208,000 prize evenly three ways.
-If one or two of the Traitors elected to steal the prize, they would, claiming it alone or splitting it between the two of them (while the sharer walked away with nothing).
-If all three Traitors elected to steal the prize, no one would take any of the silver home.

When it came down to it, all three Traitors elected to steal, indicating that they'd played a game wherein, while they avoided Banishment, they could not maneuver their own internal politics to satisfy the win condition. Greed and malice allowed all the earned money to slip through the finalists' fingers, meaning not a single contestant won this season.
