Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Twenty-two strangers were sent to the Scottish Highlands at the start of the series but two of them were removed from the game quickly...based on what question?

Answer: 'Who's least likely to win?'

As soon as the twenty-two contestants arrived at the castle to begin a game of deceit for up to £120,000, they were informed by host Claudia Winkleman that the game would begin quickly with the simple question of 'who's least likely to win?'. Having all contestants stand in a line with the most likely at one end and the least likely at the other, Claudia swiftly took Amos and Kieran at their words, asking them to leave immediately. They were subsequently returned to the game on Day 5.

What followed, after introducing the remaining contestants to their new home, was the first Round Table of the series where all participants were sat down and blindfolded and where Claudia selected the game's three Traitors. That evening, they would convene in the Traitor Tower and commit their first murder.
2. On Day 4, the Traitors placed three Faithful on trial. Who was not amongst them?

Answer: Tom

On Night 3, Claudia informed the Traitors that they would not be murdering anyone on that evening. Instead, they would need to choose three players to put 'on trial'. This means that one of those 'on trial' players would need to be murdered on Night 4 and the other players would be notified of such at breakfast (and it devolved into a shouting match pretty quickly!).

The Traitors elected to nominate Alex, Ivan, and John to be put under the microscope, and that evening, the group banished Ivan despite, believing that he could have put himself up on trial.

The Traitors murdered John the following night.
3. On Day 6, the Traitors received their first casualty. Who was banished and revealed their status as a Traitor?

Answer: Alyssa

Though seeds were planted in the group regarding Alyssa's potential status as a Traitor when Tom called her out on Day 4, Day 6 proved to be her reckoning when not only did a group of Faithfuls target her for banishment, but she received votes from her fellow Traitors.

After Wilfred made a concerted effort to deflect unwanted attention from himself, it sealed her fate. She was banished and forced to reveal herself as the first Traitor to be removed from the game. It left Wilfred and Amanda still fighting for the prize.
4. After the first Traitor was banished, Alex was offered the opportunity to join the Traitors. Did she accept the offer?

Answer: No

As the total number of Traitors had diminished to two with Alyssa's removal from the game, Wilfred and Amanda were given a choice on Night 6 as to whether or not they murdered someone, removing a Faithful from the game by morning, or attempted to recruit someone into the vacancy instead.

They opted to send their anonymous invitation to Alex, feeling that her stake in the game had changed with Tom's elimination. She rejected their offer, feeling that it would be too intense a route to pursue. The next morning, everyone returned to breakfast; she waited until the Round Table to bring it up.

The Traitors murdered her that night.
5. On Day 8, a dinner party is held in the castle. Who is given the opportunity to take money and leave the game?

Answer: Maddy

After a wet and wild challenge in the grounds' fishing huts, the players were invited to a glamorous dinner party in the castle and promised that there would be no Round Table that evening. Over pudding, Claudia asked all of the contestants to stand and for one to volunteer themselves; Amanda chose to start the proceedings. Beginning with Amanda, the selected player needed to choose who they trusted the most in the game before sitting down, and each successive person would need to make the same choice with the remaining players.

When this got to the end, Maddy was the last player standing and she was given the opportunity to take the £3,000 earned from the last challenge and leave with it, self-banishing. She elected to remain in the game, leaving the money to the prize pot.
6. During the party held on Day 8, the Traitors were told that they would need to 'murder in plain sight'. They did so by delivering which of these?

Answer: A kiss

During the dinner party, Claudia gave the Traitors a mission. There would be no meeting in the Traitor Tower, but they would still need to choose whether or not they attempted a murder in plain sight. After dinner, they would signify their one murder selection, if they could reach a consensus, by giving a 'kiss of death'.

The one person kissed would be removed from the game that evening. If they kissed more than one person or no one at all, there would be no murder that night. After a small conference in another room, Wilf and Amanda agreed to target Amos; Amanda delivered the kiss and no one was the wiser.
7. How many Armoury visits were held this season?

Answer: Five

Starting on Day 5, missions were presented to the contestants which included possibilities to access the castle's hidden armory. Inside, any visitors would have a chance of obtaining a shield, opening a chest at random with the hope of being immune to murder for a night. For five consecutive missions this was done with Tom, Amanda, Fay, Maddy, and Meryl receiving the shield in that order. Tom was eliminated with his in-hand, Amanda was a Traitor, and the other three managed to prolong their stays as a result.

After Day 9, the armory visits came to an end.
8. On Night 10, an ultimatum was presented to one of the remaining Faithful. They could meet the Traitor and join them or they could be murdered and removed from the game. Kieran received this offer. What was his decision?

Answer: Join the Traitors

With Amanda's banishment and the team's successful call that she was a Traitor, only Wilfred remained on the Traitor side going into Night 10. With this, Claudia met Wilf in the tower and gave him a new twist. Instead of performing a straightforward murder for the evening, he would be able to give one player an ultimatum; they could meet him in the tower and join him as a new Traitor or they could be murdered and removed from the game. Wilf elected to bring Kieran to the tower and he accepted the offer, becoming the first and only successful recruit of the series.

As Kieran accepted, he and Wilf continued with the final murder-- Andrea.
9. By the end of the competition, the contestants had accrued less than half the potential prize winnings for their final total.

Answer: False

As stated at the start of the competition, all participants in the game would have a shot at up to £120,000 in prize money by the end of their twelve days in Scotland, and with twelve separate challenges to face they fame in at a total of £101,050, maxing out their possibilities on only five separate occasions.

Despite the initial goal total, the players really only had the chance to earn £118,000.
10. The series was won by which of these?

Answer: The Faithful

The final five stood at the end of the game on Day 12 as two Traitors and three Faithful, and what followed was a tense but quick Round Table in which Kieran was unanimously voted for banishment, but not before he laid out some cryptic hints to the others implying further twists and turns. This led to one final elimination in front of the castle where the final four could elect to end the game and determine their fate or choose to banish again. As Aaron and Hannah voted for one more banishment, based on the doubts seeded by Kieran, another elimination occurred wherein they and Meryl were able to (at long last) banish Wilfred.

With the subsequent end game vote from the final three, Aaron, Hannah, and Meryl were able to conclude series 1 of "The Traitors" and emerge as Faithful victors, splitting the £101,050 final prize.
