Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many contestants participated in this series of "The Traitors"?

Answer: Twenty-two

As with the first series of the show, twenty-two people were brought to a castle in the Scottish Highlands for a game of deception and murder, and just as with the first group, Claudia Winkleman had them place themselves into a line, asking them to order themselves by most likely to win to least likely.

In the first series, she had the most and least likely leave the game for several days; this time she joked they wouldn't do the same thing again. it meant that twenty-two would head to the round table, the most thus far on the first day.
2. At the start of the game, Claudia selected how many Traitors?

Answer: Three

At the round table, Claudia hand-selected three Traitors who would subsequently meet each other in the Traitor Tower that first night. The catch, and she informed the group of this, was that her selections would not be done with their early deeds as they would need to recruit a final Traitor to add to their group, enlisting them to the cause against their will. Paul, Ash, and Harry were selected as the initial three Traitors while Miles would be enlisted, meeting them on Night 2 for the first Murder.
3. In this series, Shields were obtained via which means?

Answer: They were found in missions

While in Series 1, players had the chance to earn Shields, thereby protecting them from Murder for a night, Series 2 made things a bit trickier as Shields could be collected during missions contributing to the group's final prize pot. Players would need to make the effort, often in plain sight, to nab these items in nine of the twelve missions available. Three (each) would be collected in the first couple missions alone.

While they may have affected the Traitors' decisions, none of the Shields provided any surprises to them the morning after.
4. In the fourth mission, the Traitors had to select players who would be sent to the dungeon. What term was used to describe this?

Answer: Condemned

On the night of the third round table, Claudia interrupted the Traitors as they contemplated their next Murder, informing them that they would instead be Condemning four people to stay in the castle dungeon the next day. The rest of the players would have a chance to save one of those four people, but one of the other three would need to be a Murder victim the following day.

The Traitors elected to put Andrew and Meg into the dungeon alongside Traitors Ash and Paul. The Faithfuls then saved Andrew. All players were reunited at the round table at the end of the day.
5. Who was the first traitor to be banished from the game?

Answer: Ash

After narrowly avoiding elimination at the second round table, Ash attempted to throw the Faithfuls off the trail by having herself Condemned for the fourth mission. It didn't work, with most Faithfuls opting to believe that she intentionally placed herself into the dungeon with the sole purpose of dodging suspicion. That evening, because she was Banished from the game, it left the Traitors with no other choice but to Murder Meg the following morning.

The Traitors would last several more days before another elimination (Miles on the eighth day).
6. Diane was murdered under unexpected circumstances. Which of these was used to remove her from the game?

Answer: A Poisoned Chalice

After the fifth Banishment (in which Anthony was sent home as a Faithful), the Traitors were informed that their next Murder would need to be performed in plain sight. This secret mission was delivered to Harry, Miles, and Paul in private, but they needed to decide amongst themselves who to Murder and one of them needed to locate the chalice in the library and have a Faithful drink from it. Miles ended up convincing Diane to drink from the chalice, but to the Traitors' shock, everyone returned to breakfast in the morning.

During the next mission, the poisoned Faithful would be revealed and removed from the game. Most ended up realizing it was Diane throughout the day and it placed a target on Miles' back. He was Banished on that day.
7. After the first day of the competition, how many Faithfuls accepted offers to become Traitors?

Answer: Two

With Miles' Banishment at the sixth round table, the Traitors took the first opportunity to send a recruitment offer to a Faithful, adding their first name to the roster since Miles on Day 1. The offer went to Andrew and he accepted the call, lasting until the finale.

He wasn't the only one though. A day after Paul's elimination at the seventh round table, the remaining Traitors sent an offer to Ross who, too, accepted. He was banished the very next day.
8. In the penultimate mission, the players had to solve puzzles at 'The Traitors Monument'. The player who drew The Sacred Sword had a chance at which of these?

Answer: Cash

For this second-to-last mission, Claudia informed the six players that there would be no Shield on hand for this game because there would be no more Murders for the remainder. As soon as the group finished all of the puzzles for the mission, the Traitors Monument opened to reveal a stone containing numerous sword hilts.

The players then took turns pulling hilts from the stone to find The Sacred Sword. It was Harry who drew it, receiving the choice to take the £7,000 won in the mission for himself or place it into the prize pot.

He chose the latter.
9. Although the contestants had a chance to earn up to £120,000 for the final prize pot, did they manage to crack the £100,000 mark?

Answer: No

In twelve missions featured throughout the show, the contestants could earn between £6,000 and £20,000 per event, all culminating in a potential grand prize of £120,000. Managing to earn a good amount of money every mission, the players ended off the game with a full total of £95,150. Either this would all get handed to the Traitors at the end of the game, or it would be divided amongst the Faithfuls.

For comparison, in Series 1, the final prize pot ended off at £101,050.
10. Who won the prize money in the end?

Answer: The Traitors

As the final players headed into the last day of the competition, Evie was Banished and four went to the fire pit (in the round table room, due to a storm) to determine the End Game as two Faithfuls and two Traitors. After the group elected to banish Andrew, Harry tried to push for End Game while Jaz opted to Banish one more time, attempting to take a firing blow at the last Traitor in the game. Unfortunately for the latter, Mollie believed Harry to be honest, and it allowed Harry to survive the final vote and win the game, taking the £95,150 prize for himself.
