Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many players competed in this inaugural Australian season of "The Traitors"?

Answer: Twenty-four

All twenty-four contestants were brought into the game on Day 1, checking in at a massive hotel in the Southern Highlands of Australia. After cocktails in the salon, all were brought, by host Rodger Corser, into the Banishment Room where they were sat at the Round Table and told that their only goal would be to make it to the end to collect a treasure of solid silver.

As Rodger informed, every night, they would gather in the Banishment Room to attempt to get rid of one Traitor while, at the same time, the Traitors would gather in the Traitor's Tower to murder one of the Faithfuls. With that, he instructed them all to put on their masks and he would be selecting the Traitors. He chose Nigel, Angus, Marielle, and Claire, all of whom met together in the Traitor's Tower that evening.

None of them would make it to the end of the game.
2. After the game's second Banishment, Chloe removed herself from the game. What was her profession?

Answer: Clairvoyant

After attempting to sway the other contestants to follow her suggestions which were, in turn, given to her by spirits from the other side, Chloe came into the Banishment Ceremony on Day 3 with an odd insistence that she didn't want to give up her thoughts quite yet. When pressed, however, she voted against the group to eliminate Teresa, stating that she believed she received word of four Traitors in the game, listing them off. She would leave the room before MK revealed his alignment, removing herself from the game completely when she didn't show for breakfast.

Interestingly, she was right about two of the Traitors' identities (Angus and Marielle), and her claim would get many of the Faithful thinking hard about their selections.
3. Did any Banishment votes culminate in a tie in this season?

Answer: Yes

As Chloe's clairvoyant guess started to sink into the Faithfuls' mind, the consideration caused chaos going into the game's third Banishment Ceremony, and when the group finally sat down at the Round Table, seven different names appeared amongst the eighteen remaining in the game. What finally sussed out was equal votes for Angus and Kashindi (both received four) in the only technical tie of the season.

As such, all of the contestants save for the two recast their votes for either Angus or Kashindi. Fortunately for the Traitors, the votes pushed Kashindi to banishment, knocking yet another Faithful out.
4. Which of these was introduced for the first time on Day 6, allowing protection from both the Banishment and Murder for one evening?

Answer: The Shield

Only three Shields were presented to the contestants over the course of the game, and in each case only one person would be eligible to claim it and use it to its full potential. If they could nab it, they would be safe not only from the next Banishment (forcing all to vote elsewhere), but they would not be able to be murdered by the Traitors on that evening. Nigel won the first one, blocking it from being used by any of the Faithful on Day 6; Kate won the next one; Lewis won the final one.
5. Which Traitor was the first to be banished from the game?

Answer: Angus

After narrowly missing elimination on Day 4's Banishment due to Chloe's call-out, Angus took in the majority of votes on Day 7, confirming suspicions that he was in fact on the Traitors' side. He would end up receiving votes from fellow Traitors Marielle and Nigel, blindsiding him to force him out the door. That night, no one would be murdered; the Traitors would receive a letter asking them to place three players up to complete a game for a massive gamble, potentially tripling the prize pot. They chose Lewis, Mark, and Nigel, who succeeded in a roulette game.

It wasn't enough to keep heat off Claire, however, and she was sent home as the second Traitor in a row to leave the game.
6. After seven Banishments, who became the first Faithful recruited to become a Traitor?

Answer: Alex

With only two Traitors remaining in the game following Claire's Banishment, it wasn't long before the remaining Traitors (Marielle and Nigel) had the opportunity to recruit someone new to their ranks. After Matt's Banishment, they attended their nightly meeting in the Traitor's Tower and received a note instructing them to send an invitation to a Faithful of their choice. If the chosen Faithful did not accept, they would be able to continue with the game as-is, but if they opted to accept the invite, they would head directly to the Tower and meet their new teammates.

The invite was sent to Alex and, despite concerns that she would not, she accepted the invite. No one was murdered on this occasion.
7. The final seven contestants were beset upon by a new twist which required that three of their group be analyzed by the Traitors. Per the game's terms, they were placed where?

Answer: On Death Row

Immediately after the elimination of Marielle, the third Traitor removed by Banishment, the remaining Traitors were told that they would not be committing their next Murder quite yet. Instead, they would have to put three of the remaining players up on 'Death Row', informing them via letter at breakfast that one of the three of them would definitively be Murdered on the next occasion.

The Traitors elected Lewis, Kate, and Paul to sit with this risk. Ultimately, none of the three of them were Banished on this occasion-- Nigel was, outing the final original Traitor-- and Paul was sent home the morning after.
8. Towards the end of the game, Kate was offered an invitation to become a Traitor. Did she accept the invite?

Answer: Yes

After Nigel's elimination, only Alex was left as a Traitor and, in addition to needing to send home a Faithful on Death Row, she was tasked with sending one more order of business-- another invitation to ensure the Traitors didn't die out completely. As with her recruitment, the recipient could choose to accept or refuse the invite.

She chose Kate, who joined her in the Traitor's Tower immediately. It meant taking Kate off Death Row and Murdering Paul leaving two Traitors and four Faithful in the running.
9. How many players featured in this season ended up playing the role of Traitor?

Answer: Six

Out of twenty-four initial contestants, four of these Traitors were chosen from the outset (Nigel, Marielle, Claire, and Angus) while two were recruited as their numbers winnowed down. Alex was recruited by Nigel and Marielle, accepting the first such invitation of the game; Kate received the second from Alex, alone, once Nigel, the last original Traitor, was eliminated from the game in a later banishment. Both Alex and Kate would reach the grand finals.
10. Which of these claimed the grand prize at the end of "The Traitors" season 1?

Answer: The Traitors

After one final Banishment to remove Lewis from the final four, the game could only have ended with a Traitor claiming the prize as both Alex and Kate were in the endgame with the sole remaining Faithful, Craig. The three were given a choice between voting to Banish one last time or going into the last gathering as a threesome if they felt everyone was Faithful. All three elected to vote, and with that, Alex and Craig removed Kate from the running.

It allowed Alex to claim the final prize-- a total of $250,000 AUD in silver bars-- as the sole Traitor standing.
