Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mohg himself is very deceptive. He has kidnapped the demigod Miquella, the brother to Malenia, Goddess of Rot. It may seem that Mohg could be getting into trouble by angering Malenia, but he has actually managed to trick her into thinking someone else kidnapped Miquella. Who is the scapegoat here?

Answer: Starscourge Radahn

This simple act of deception caused an all out war between the Cleanrots and the Redmanes which resulted in the entirety of Caelid getting obliterated by Malenia. The fallout caused Radahn to be driven into permanent feral rage from Malenia's scarlet rot, while Malenia suffered wounds that caused her to lose one of her legs and go completely blind. Needless to say, Mohg would have a lot to answer for if his ruse ever were to be uncovered.
2. The player's first encounter with one of Mohg's many disciples comes very early in the game- immediately after finishing the tutorial. Who does the player interact with in this regard?

Answer: White Mask Varre

Varre is host to a moderate questline that can actually allow the player to access the fight with Mohg way, way earlier than they would otherwise be able to. His questline is quite simple- it's a couple of fetch quests as well as having the player invade other players' worlds three times.

His questline becomes open once the player defeats Godrick the Grafted and then locate the Rose Church where Varre will await them after doing so.
3. After the early going, it will be a little bit of time before the player can encounter another notable Mohgwyn face. This character is found at the Second Church of Marika, wields two dragon incantations along with a signature pole blade, and will use these tools to invade the player here. Who is it?

Answer: Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger

Despite wielding such impressive weaponry, Eleonora is a relative pushover due to having poor stats and being relatively passive in combat. When defeated, she drops the Eleonora's Poleblade, largely thought to be among the best weapons in the entire game due to having excellent stats, an amazing Ash of War and inflicting Bleed build-up on contact.
4. Around the middle of the game, the player will find themselves able to attend the Radahn Festival. If they do, one of their potential allies is a Mohgwyn disciple. This character will also invade the player later. Who is it?

Answer: Bloody Finger Okina

At the Radahn Festival, Okina is simply referred to as 'Okina' probably due to From Software wanting to conceal his allegiance at this stage of the game. He will later invade the player at the Mountaintop of Giants under his 'Bloody Finger' title. In both occurrences, he wears the Lands Reed armor while wielding the Rivers of Blood katana.

When defeated, he drops the aforementioned weapon, notable for being arguably the single best weapon in the entire game.
5. Apart from accessing it via a questline, the player will find accessing the Mohgwyn Palace to be quite difficult. This is mainly due to the fact that it can only otherwise be accessed by going through an enormous territory that sits right next to the palace grounds. What area is this?

Answer: Nokron, the Eternal City

If the player does not complete White Mask Varre's questline, it will then become mandatory to go through Nokron in order to reach the Mohgwyn Palace. In order to access Nokron, the player must defeat Starscourge Radahn, return to Limgrave and locate the Star Crater. By entering the crater, the player can access Nokron.

In terms of size, Nokron is smaller than Miquella's Haligtree and Crumbling Farum Azula, but is larger than every other area in the entire game.
6. Interestingly, when entering the Mohgwyn Palace, the player could potentially find themselves in the unique position of invading an NPC rather than the typical other way around. Who could they potentially end up invading?

Answer: White Mask Varre

If the player has finished Varre's questline, they will find a fairly random Duelist Furled Finger sign laying idly about just before the elevator that would take them up to face Mohg. By interacting with it, the player will appear in Varre's world with the simple objective of taking him down.
7. If the player wins their invasion, they will receive a cosmetic set as well as a bizarre weapon. What weapon is this?

Answer: Varre's Bouquet

Varre's Bouquet is exactly what it sounds like- a bouquet of flowers. Yeah, imagine slaying a dragon, killing a god or even just charging into battle with a bouquet of flowers. This concept is quite novel, and is unfortunately all this weapon has going for it due to its horrendously putrid stats, poor Ash of War and bad range. Still, if you like fooling around with something funny like this, invading Varre will prove worth your time.
8. The fight with the man himself, Mohg, is predictably a very difficult one. It can be made just a bit easier by exploiting one of his two weaknesses- Gravity Magic and what?

Answer: Blood Loss

If you find it ironic that the Lord of Blood is weak to his own element, you are certainly not alone. Yet, Mohg is indeed weak to Blood Loss- an affinity the player likely has in bulk by this point in the game.
9. At about half of his health, Mohg will unleash a powerful attack called Bloodboon Ritual. In addition to dealing a monstrous amount of damage, what else does this attack do?

Answer: Heal Mohg

Mohg will heal roughly 40% of his health bar after he finishes casting Bloodboon Ritual. The self-heal is consistent and not based on how much damage the attack itself does, meaning the number of combatants it hits does not influence how much Mohg will heal for.
10. Mohg himself is the sole reason that a no-hit playthrough of "Elden Ring" is impossible. Why is this?

Answer: Bloodboon Ritual cannot be dodged

Bloodboon Ritual is a massive AoE that covers the entirety of the battlefield. It also uniquely ignores invincibility frames, meaning it cannot be dodge rolled through. As a result, it is completely impossible to avoid taking damage from this attack, thereby rendering no-hit runs completely impossible without hacking the game.
11. Bloodboon Ritual is extremely deadly to the point where the game will warn the player of its arrival very early. This is done by Mohg giving auditory cues, as he will shout three different words before using the power. Which of the following is something he will shout to indicate he is casting Bloodboon Ritual?

Answer: "Unus!"

At 75% of his health, Mohg will swing his trident along with his off-hand as a small red circle briefly surrounds all combatants. He will do this again at 65% and then 50% of his health. In order, he will shout "Tres!", "Duo!" and "Unus!" at these respective timeframes. Once he shouts "Unus!", this is the cue that he is about to use Bloodboon Ritual, as he will then clasp his trident with both hands, hold it close to his face, and then cast.
12. Bloodboon Ritual's impact can be greatly mitigated if the player locates a particular flavor Tear for their Flask of Wondrous Physic, and then drinks their flask just before Mohg casts Bloodboon Ritual. What Tear does the player need for this?

Answer: Purifying Crystal Tear

This Tear has the sole and only purpose of greatly reducing the damage Bloodboon Ritual does. This is important, as without this Tear, the player will need to quickly consume multiple healing flasks just to survive Bloodboon Ritual even if they're at full health as it is cast.

In addition to greatly reducing the damage Bloodboon Ritual does, the Purifying Crystal Tear will also stop the player from being staggered when it is cast, meaning they can lay into Mohg with their strongest attacks for free as he casts Bloodboon Ritual and is immobile and defenseless.
13. When defeated, Mohg will, in his dying moments, claim that he can "see it very clearly, the coming of..." what does he claim to have such an outlook on?

Answer: His dynasty

Mohg's voice changes from being raspy and dark into oddly cheerful and excited as he is in his dying moments saying this line. No further context is provided to explain why he says this, and why he does so in this tone.
14. Upon defeating Mohg, his Remembrance can be brought to Finger Reader Enia and exchanged for one of two things. One of the rewards is a weapon. What is the weapon?

Answer: Mohgwyn Sacred Spear

This is just a smaller, player appropriate version of Mohg's trident. It mainly scales off of Strength and Arcane with a small scaling in Dexterity. It's Ash of War is Bloodboon Ritual, which is just a smaller, player appropriate version of Mohg's Bloodboon Ritual- however, even this is still extremely powerful and can effortlessly wipe out entire mobs of enemies despite its limited range and lack of self-healing.
15. One of the potential rewards from Mohg's Rememberance is an Incantation. What is it?

Answer: Bloodboon

This is a smaller, player appropriate version of Mohg's projectile bloodflame attack. One of the main differences are that the player can only throw it in a horizontal arc, and can't throw it vertically like Mohg. As well, the bloodflame environmental hazard doesn't last anywhere near as long, and it doesn't do anywhere near as much damage on direct impact as Mohg's version does.

However, as it still establishes an environmental hazard, inflicts Bleed build up, costs very little FP and has very small stat requirements, it is still a good choice for a spell slot.
