Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Some guy named Varre told me to go fight Godrick. I did, then went to tell him and he was gone! Where can I now find him?

Answer: Liurnia of the Lakes

Specifically, Whist Mask Varre can be found at the Rose Church once Godrick the Grafted has been defeated. Here, his formal questline can begin, which will give access to the Mohgwyn Palace considerably earlier than the player could otherwise get there.
2. Sorcerer Thops really wants to get back into the Raya Lucaria Academy. Gentleman that I am, I offered him the only key into the property I had in my possession, but he rejected it! It seems he will only accept my offer if I have a second key. Where can I go find one?

Answer: Raya Lucaria Academy

A bit of tricky parkour will be required, and the player will also need to defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon to gain access to the area this takes place. Once this is done, Thops will reward the player with the Erdution gesture. This gesture actually ends up being meaningful, as performing it at the Inverted Tower will be needed in order to break the seal and enter it.
3. I went into Leyndell because I keep hearing a lot about it, but I was denied entry. The game's reasoning is that "I need more Great Runes to proceed." How many Great Runes will I need?

Answer: Two

The player must acquire two Great Runes, then return to the Roundtable Hold and talk to the Two Fingers. Once done, Leyndell will become open.
4. I'll need Great Runes to get into Leyndell, but those are rare and hard to find. How do I get a Great Rune?

Answer: Kill a Demigod

In the early game, the player will have to choose two of Godrick the Grafted, Rennala Queen of the Full Moon, Rykard Lord of Blasphemy, Starscourge Radahn or, technically, Mohg, Lord of Blood. Mohg is an end game boss whose power is significantly greater than anything the player will have experienced at this point of the game, so while his Great Rune would indeed count, this is clearly not the way to go unless the player wants an extreme challenge.
5. I began to go through the Raya Lucaria Academy, and I got to the boss fight with Rennala. However, she's floating in this big yellow ball and none of my attacks are doing any damage to her at all. How do I make her vulnerable?

Answer: Kill three scholars with yellow rings around them

Rennala's room will be full of a small army of Juvenile Scholars. They will mostly sit idly, but will semi occasionally breathe a small line of fire or throw a book at the player. Three of them picked at random will have small yellow circles surrounding their body. Once these three specifically are killed, Rennala's yellow force field will temporarily shatter, allowing the player to finally damage her. If the player is having a tough time spotting the 'correct' scholar, they give auditory cues as well- a player listening closely who hears "sleep tight" being constantly sung can go to the source of this singing and find the correct scholar.
6. I went to the Volcano Manor and made my way to the end of the level. I entered the boss room, but before I could get too close, I found a Rare item drop. It's a weapon called the Serpent Hunter. It's un-upgraded and has fairly lowly stats. Should I use it?

Answer: Yes

Despite having poor stats due to it being un-upgraded and having absolutely no scaling whatsoever, the Serpent Hunter gains unique properties specifically during this fight that make it by far and away the best weapon for this fight. Between his two phases, Rykard has nearly 81,000 HP, by far the highest in the entire game.

The player's current weaponry will do very, very little damage to him, but the Serpent Hunter, even un-upgraded, will easily clear a thousand damage and, upgraded, even two thousand on harder hits.

This makes it the vastly superior option to any other weapon in existence for this specific fight.
7. I made my way down to the Redmane Castle. I keep hearing about this so-called Radahn Festival, but when I arrived, no such event was happening. There were a lot of enemies, and the boss fight here wasn't with Radahn. What do I need to do to get the festival to start?

Answer: Progress Ranni's questline

This, progressing Blaidd's questline or resting at a site of grace in the Altus Plateau will all trigger the Radahn Festival. Before and after the festival, Redmane Castle will be populated with enemies and a boss fight against the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight will be available, blocking off the Redmane Plaza until it is defeated.
8. I made it to a boss fight with Morgott the Omen King, and he's giving me a lot of trouble. Apparently I can summon two NPCs to help me, but I only see one. How do I get the other to show up?

Answer: Free Dung Eater from his cell

Fortunately, Dung Eater can be found locked away in a cell just underneath Leyndell, so the player won't have to go far from Morgott's boss room to get to him. It should be noted that, while Dung Eater's questline can be completed, fully completing it will cause his summon sign to be permanently unavailable for Morgott.

The player must simply free him from his cell, hold off on progressing any further, and his sign will be there to assist in fighting Morgott.
9. I went through the Mountaintop of the Giants, got to the Fire Giant boss, and managed to get through his first phase. For his second phase, however, his first phase weak spot on his body is gone since he ripped his leg off. Where is his new weak spot?

Answer: The eye on hits chest

It is very difficult to actually hit this weak spot. It's impossible if you don't have a ranged option, as the giant's massive size makes it so that his chest is well out of reach for a melee attack. Even if the player has a ranged option, the giant will be moving around a lot, forcing the player to dodge with his hard hitting attacks, and will be rolling around a lot to evade the player and maintain distance from them.

It is true that his hands and his head will take more damage from attacks than the rest of his body. However, only by attacking the eye on his chest can the player guard break the giant and gain the opportunity for a riposte, making this the weak spot.
10. I've been trying to make sure my weapons stay upgraded enough to be strong for late game. Unfortunately, I ran out of smithing stones and I've looted every one that can be found from caves across the game. What item can I find that can provide a permanent solution?

Answer: Bell bearings

Bell bearings allow the player to purchase infinite amounts of whatever item(s) are entailed within the bell bearing, with the exception of items which are specifically sold by their source in quantities, such as how Kale can only sell the player five Furl Calling Finger Remedies. Miner's Bell Bearings can allow the player to buy infinite amounts of a certain type and level of smithing stones, providing a permanent ability to get weapons up to a certain point.
