"Elden Ring" - Legendary Armaments Quiz

In "Demon's Souls", the 'Large Sword of Moonlight' mainly scaled with Faith. In every other From Software game up until "Elden Ring", the Moonlight Greatsword has mainly scaled with Intelligence, and this game is no exception.

The Eclipse Shotel is actually very easy to find as the player will simply come upon it in plain view inside of a small room via natural progression through the map. Unfortunately, the shotel can only inflict Deathblight build up after activating its Ash of War, Death Flare, which essentially buffs the blade with this effect. Still, the very fact that the player could get their hands on an insta death mechanic in itself was a very surprising indulgence provided by From Software after over thirty years of this not being the case.

Answer: Recusant Bernahl

Bernahl can be found at the Warmaster's Shack, and if the player doesn't want to wait until end game to get the scepter, they'll need to kill him right away. Their next chance to do so won't come until the very last area of the game, Crumbling Farum Azula. Bernahl will move if the player enters the Volcano Manor, so the player must kill him before entering Volcano Manor.

Answer: Caria Manor

This weapon is found on the manor's lower level, and can only be accessed if the player has advanced Ranni's questline beyond killing the Baleful Shadow. It is a straight sword with a standard moveset apart from its unique Ash of War.

Answer: Misbegotten Crusader

The simple act of having equipped this sword gives this particular Misbegotten a distinctly different moveset from its brethren. It attacks more quickly, frequently utilizes the sword's Ash of War, and its AI was designed to be intelligent enough to utilize its claws more if the player casts a spell or uses an item to boost their Holy resistance.

Answer: Grafted Greatsword

The Grafted Greatsword requires 40 strength to wield. Its Ash of War is unique, as the Oath of Vengeance will temporarily boost all of the player's stats by a small amount. Other than that, it is a very genetic greatsword.

Answer: Elemer of the Briar

Elemer of the Briar is the boss of the Shaded Castle, a secluded, hidden-away area in the Altus Plateau. His men, the Bell-Bearing Hunters, also wield this sword.

Answer: Burning the Erdtree

The force needed to burn the Erdtree is so great that it essentially annihilates Leyndell, which is sitting right underneath it. This is including the structure the Bolt of Gransaxx is found on. As such, if the player wants to gain an amazing Dexterity weapon and simultaneously progress towards 100%ing the game, they'll need to hold off on burning the Erdtree until they acquire the Bolt of Gransaxx.

Answer: Misbegotten Warrior & Crucible Knight

The fight starts off with the Misbegotten Warrior being the only enemy. Either once the fight has lasted for 30 seconds or the player gets the warrior's health to half, the Crucible Knight will jump into the fray. Once the Crucible Knight is alone, he will begin to respond very aggressively if the player tries to use a Crimson Healing Flask to heal, and will almost always be able to interrupt this endeavour. As such, the player will need to heal shortly after dodging one of his attacks, when he would be unable to interrupt their healing.

The Ruins Greatsword is unique for being one of few weapons in the game capable of attaining an S scaling without player input. It joins the Watchdog Greatsword as being the only two to achieve this for Strength. It deals split damage between Physical and Magic, and it boasts a unique Ash of War known as Wave of Destruction.

Answer: Nothing

There is no actual tangible difference between a 'legendary' weapon and a 'regular' one. It is likely that From Software wanted to make 'legendary' into a dynamic theme, one to attach a trophy/achievement to and give the player a goal to work towards.
