Estimated time: 3 mins.
There are forty-two Galaxies that Mario can visit in "Super Mario Galaxy", some of which are vast and multi-faceted, and some of which are much smaller, providing unique trials wherein Mario must face different obstacles to collect Power Stars and Star Bits. in addition to a total of fifteen main hub Galaxies, there are twenty Mystery Galaxies (most of which only feature a single Power Star), six Bowser/Bowser Jr. stages, and a small handful of secret or alternative Galaxies. Mario connects to all of these from the Comet Observatory via its many Domes or helpful Lumas.
The twelve Galaxies listed as correct answers run the gamut, providing examples from each of these different categories of destinations. All Galaxies have Missions, the titles of which will indicate a general theme or hint towards how Mario will collect his goal item. There are one hundred twenty Power Stars to collect-- all via these Missions-- amongst all these Galaxies. The player can collect one hundred twenty more as Luigi if they do that, and then one more for each to cap off the game.
As for the incorrect answers, five of those are from the game's sequel, "Super Mario Galaxy 2" (Wii). These, specifically, are the Yoshi Star Galaxy, the Honeybloom Galaxy, the Throwback Galaxy, the Rolling Coaster Galaxy, and the Mario Squared Galaxy.
Three are completely made-up, specifically the generically-named Luigi Galaxy, Extra Super Galaxy, and Mario Kart Galaxy.
