At a big tree on the edge of the Mekong River in Luang Prabang, teams found the first Double U-Turn of the race with little fanfare, and in the hustle of the leg, some teams were very quickly compelled to use it. Rachel and Elissa, arriving there first, U-Turned Becca and Floyd who, in an attempt to stave off another strong team, subsequently used the U-Turn on Tyler and Korey. It meant that both teams needed to complete either 'ABC', a task which involved learning the Laotian alphabet in a local school, or 'BBQ', which involved properly skewering duck and fish for cooking in a local marketplace.

Answer: Split

Leaving Brienz, Switzerland, teams hopped on a train to Zurich and headed to the airport to nab tickets on the first flight southeast to Split, Croatia on the edge of the Aegean Sea. Upon landing, teams would need to have a taxi driver bring them to Bacvice Beach to pick up the Travelocity Roaming Gnome, their traveling companion for this leg of the race. To get him, however, teams had to deliver six drinks to beach-goers and return to the nearby bar to get their clue.

Answer: Zurich

Teams left Africa at the start of Leg 7 and flew 3,500 miles north to the city of Zurich, Switzerland, the nearest major city to what would be the proceeding two legs of the race. What this meant was that teams needed to head to the travel agency in Kampala and then join their competitors on the same flight into the Alps. Upon landing, they could hop aboard a train to the town of Grindelwald and collect their next clue (and a number) at the entrance of the Gletscherschlucht Glacier Gorge.

Answer: United Arab Emirates

It was off to Dubai at the start of Leg 5 as teams left the race's fourth Pit Stop and flew from Ho Chi Minh City and travelled more than four thousand five hundred miles west to the largest city of the United Arab Emirates. Upon their arrival, teams needed to take a taxi out to a party in the Al Faqa Desert. If they could find the supercars waiting for them there, they would be treated to tea and dates and their next clue.

Answer: Laos

To begin their third leg of the race, teams were given a clue envelope containing a phone which they could use to purchase tickets via the Travelocity mobile app. Their destination: the city of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Arriving in the evening, teams had to pick up a packet of herbal remedies from a doctor at the House of Vietnamese Medicine; it would be their next clue.

Answer: Elephants

Racing in and around the Laotian capital city of Luang Prabang, teams visited an elephant village supported by local ecotourism and one member of each had to ride an elephant, taking it across the Nam Khan River. If team members could get across and hunt for someone playing a musical instrument in the woods on the other side, they could bring their elephants back, reunite with their partners, and head to the next Pit Stop. Jamal, Nicole, Elissa, Corinne, Christy, Britney, Becca, Chris, Tyler, and Rupert opted to complete this task.

Answer: Seven & 7

Once teams pulled a number at the gorge (after a three kilometre run!), they could open up their Road Block clue and choose the participant for the task at hand. Here, one member of each team took the scenic route through the gorge, taking a terrifying swing four hundred feet above the glacial river below. Once they completed the drop, they could search the gorge for their next clue. Korey, Becca, Leo, Christie, Nicole, Elissa, and Chris completed this task.

Answer: Leo and Jamal

Collecting their herbal remedies, teams also obtained their Detour options. In 'Reel It In', teams needed to make their way to Thanh Da Restaurant where, using rods, nets, and their hands, they needed to catch dinner the same way as locals do (at least at this particular restaurant), buy casting a line into a pool next to their seat. If they could collectively catch eight live prawns, they could trade them for their next clue. Tyler and Korey, Corinne and Eliza, and Chris and Bret were the teams who caught on.

Answer: Japan

Leaving the United States behind, teams needed to fly over the Pacific, five thousand miles west to the Japanese capital city, Tokyo. Upon their arrival, they would be able to board a charter double-decker bus that would take them directly into the heart of the busy metropolis, Shibuya. As soon as they disembarked they would be handed their next clue, and this allowed them to search for one of two locations in the busy streets surrounding the Shibuya Scramble crossing-- ACB Lock & Security or Tokyo Tokyo Restaurant. Both stations had limited amount of clues waiting, so teams needed to find them fast to make sure they could carry on.

Answer: Vietnamese

Teams raced through Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in Legs 3 and 4, and the last task of Leg 3 sent teams to face the judgemental crowd of Karaoke Kingdom. Here, one member of each team had to learn a verse of a Vietnamese song, "That Bat Ngo", in the original language. When they felt like they got the pronunciation down, they could take their skills to the karaoke room and perform their part and, if they got it all correct, they would get their next clue. Floyd, Colin, Victor, Eliza, Tyler, Rachel, Janelle, Bret, and Leo joined this task.

Answer: Irritation

The pair of tasks that teams encountered on a humid day in Ho Chi Minh City were 'Irritation' and 'Irrigation'. In the former, teams had to paddle their way down a local stream in a basket boat while dodging other boats and crossing low bridges. If they could collect fish from downstream and bring them to their destination 200 yards from their starting point, they would get their clue. In the latter, teams created an irrigation wheel out of bamboo, assisting local farmers in filling a bucket with river water if they could succeed in constructing the structure.

Answer: Colin and Christie

Once teams reached Masthouse Terrace Pier they could take a speedboat down the Thames to the Savoy Pier and then proceed on foot to their next clue in the hands of the Golden Queen at Piccadilly Circus. This allowed teams to embark on one of two Detour tasks, 'Know' or 'Row'. In 'Know', teams joined the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers and took a defined route through the confusing streets of London. If they could memorize the whole route without taking notes-- seven points of interest, fifteen streets, and all the turns taken-- then they could recite it to the cab master and get their next clue. In 'Row', teams visited Hyde Park and hopped into a double scull to complete a 200m rowing race on The Serpentine in under sixty seconds. Only Colin and Christie finished this latter task; all other teams completed 'Know'.

Answer: Nicole and Victor

Leaving the Road Block, teams were told to take a helicopter ride from the site of their Road Block up into the Alps to Grimsel Pass and, there, they would find their Detour options waiting for them. Only Leo and Jamal and Nicole and Victor ended up completing the 'Water Power' task for which they had to take a ride on the funicular at Gelmerbahn searching for eight signs listing water reservoirs and water volumes associated with them. If they could memorize all eight and identify them on a provided map on the nearby dam, they could continue racing.

Answer: Chocolate

Teams would instructed to head on foot to the EDGEof Shibuya Building and to head to the fifth floor to start their first Road Block of the race. For this task, participating team members (Jamal, Christie, Janelle, Victor, Elissa, Tyler, Floyd, Chris, Laura, Eliza, and JJ) needed to participate in a Japanese game show-style challenge, entering a room and picking out a sweet new pair of shoes by selecting geta sandals, one at a time, and biting into them. Only twelve in the room would be made of chocolate. If they got one, they would be able to eat a portion of it with their partner and get their next clue from a hostess.

Answer: Nicole and Victor

If teams finished the mad dash around Camden Market they would finally be able to get their placement for this second-to-last leg and, possibly, secure their spot in the finals. Leo and Jamal, who were eliminated on the eleventh leg in their previous two seasons ("The Amazing Race 23 and 24") found their redemption when they checked in first, taking their third victory of the race. In a final footrace, Colin and Christie managed to finish the last task just before Nicole and Victor, knocking out the last "Big Brother" team and clinching an all-"Amazing Race" finale.

Answer: Chris and Bret

To wrap up their ninth leg of the race, teams had to get across Croatia's oldest port by grabbing a dinghy from St. Nicholas Pier across the water to Matejuska Pier. Tyler and Korey stayed ahead of Nicole and Victor long enough to land on the mat in first and win their fourth consecutive leg, beating their three consecutive win streak from their original season. Travelocity provided the trip again, awarding the pair a trip for two to the Riviera Maya. Chris and Bret struggled on both sides of the Detour and, though they arrived at the task in first, they fell to the back of the pack and were eliminated, leaving only one team in the race that wasn't originally from "The Amazing Race".

Answer: Nicole and Victor

After their Detour tasks, teams were told to drive themselves to the seventh Pit Stop of the race waiting on the lawn in front of the 600-year-old Michaelskirche in the Swiss town of Meiringen. This leg of the race was won by Tyler and Korey who, after leading for the whole leg, took their second consecutive victory. Instead of receiving cash or a trip, they won themselves a spa experience at the Pit Stop, allowing them to rest and relax in advance of the upcoming leg. The end of the leg proved to be a tight one with the last three teams hitting the mat within minutes of each other. Nicole and Victor ended up being the last to step on the mat but they were saved by the race's final non-elimination Pit Stop.

Answer: Rachel and Elissa

Once teams finished their Road Block they could make their way to the last task of the leg by navigating their cabs to Amwaj Tower 4. There, they needed to find their way to the roof and, though it would mark the end of the leg, they would need to take the world's longest urban zipline over Dubai Marina to check in at the Pit Stop mat. Becca and Floyd checked in first, passing teams at the Road Block to take their second win of the race and $5,000 USD each. Rachel and Elissa, who switched Detour tasks, fell to the back of the pack but survived the leg since it was a non-elimination Pit Stop.

Answer: Chris and Bret

Leg three ended after teams wrapped their karaoke Road Block task, but first they needed to make their way to Ho Thi Ky, a Flower Marker in Ho Chi Minh City. There, Becca and Floyd checked into the Pit Stop in first place, taking the win after placing second-to-last in Leg 2. The pair won a trip for two to The Bahamas courtesy of Travelocity. The leg ended with "Survivor" pair Chris and Bret landing on the mat in last place, partly due to poor taxis and partly due to switching Detours. Fortunately, they weren't eliminated.

Answer: Art and JJ

Ending their first leg of the race, teams needed to go to the top of the highest hill in Central Tokyo to check in at the race's first Pit Stop in front of the shrine at Atago Jinja. Taking redemption in Tokyo, Leo and Jamal led the leg and checked in in first place (after being eliminated in Japan in "The Amazing Race 23"). The cousins won themselves a seven-day cruise in Tahiti courtesy of Travelocity for their efforts. Although Art and JJ arrived at the second Road Block in tenth, Art was unable to finish his task, incurring a four hour penalty. It allowed Rupert and Laura to check into the Pit Stop in tenth, knocking the friends out of the race.

Answer: Water

In 'Water Power', teams took a ride on the steepest funicular in the world, the Gelmerbahn, keeping their eyes peeled for blue signs bearing the names of eight local water reservoirs and the amounts of water they could contain. When they had them memorized, they could make their way across the dam at Gelmersee and place those names with their respective locations on a map to collect their next clue. In 'Water Down', teams instead took a canyoning course through Grimsel Canyon.

Answer: Detroit

Leaving from Camden Market, the final three teams were told to cross the Atlantic and make their way to the city of Detroit, Michigan, the last city they would need to reach in their trip around the world. All three boarded the same flight and touched down for a sprint around the Motor City, heading out to collect their first clue in front of the Spirit of Detroit statue in the Downtown core.

Answer: Amsterdam

Off again! Teams ripped open clues in Split, Croatia's picturesque port to find that they needed to fly to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Upon touching down at Schiphol Airport, they could hop into a train and make their way to the town of Kampen. At 9:00am, they would be able to grab a tandem bicycle for use throughout the leg and head to Jachthaven to search on foot for their next clue.

Answer: Two & 2

Starting Leg 8 early, all teams were directed to the Ballenberg Community Hall to celebrate one of the world's oldest democracies in Switzerland, and there they united to cast their votes-- out loud-- for two teams to be U-Turned. Colin and Christie, considered one of the toughest teams in the race, received votes from Rachel and Elissa, Leo and Jamal, and Becca and Floyd, while Rachel and Elissa received votes from Colin and Christie and Chris and Bret. It meant that they would be forced to complete both sides of the upcoming Detour. Nicole and Victor cast their vote for Leo and Jamal while Tyler and Korey voted for Nicole and Victor, but since both received fewer votes than other teams, they survived the vote.

Answer: Kampala

With eight teams still in the race, the course diverted away from Dubai and sent competitors to the city of Kampala, Uganda, two thousand miles to the southwest. Upon landing, teams could take a cab to the Uganda National Mosque and dress in traditional garb to perform their first task, a challenge that sent them climbing the mosque's minaret counting the stairs inside. If they could count 272 total steps (correctly), they could get their next clue at the top.

Visiting the Ballenberg Community Hall in Hofstetten bei Brienz, Switzerland at the start of Leg 8, the seven teams remaining in the race were informed that they would be voting, then and there, for two teams to be U-Turned for the upcoming Detour. It's because of this that both Colin and Christie and Rachel and Elissa were forced to complete both the 'Haymaking' and 'Cow Dressing' options while the others only completed one or the other. Colin and Christie managed to excel, checking into the Pit Stop in third place despite the setback; Rachel and Elissa were eliminated.

Answer: Eat it

Teams continued racing to the Soweto Restaurant in Kampala's Owino Market for their Road Block clue, and for this one, team members had to serve up a rolex, an egg omelette. First, they needed to search the market and purchase the necessary ingredients, then they had to cook it to the approval of a local chef to get their next clue. Victor, Korey, Colin, Jamal, Chris, Floyd, Janelle, and Elissa completed this task. Before the Road Block, Rachel and Elissa also contended with a Speed Bump in the market. For this, they had to wash and hang a load of laundry before joining the other teams.

Finishing the Road Block, teams had to take a cab to the Detroit-adjacent town of Hamtramck to find a designated fowling warehouse. There, they would have to play the bowling-football hybrid through two games, knocking down the pins to get their next clue. This would direct them to Third Man Records back in Detroit where, if they could create five two-tone red and yellow vinyl records, they would be given their next clue and be allowed to keep racing.

Answer: Colin and Christie

When teams finished their Detour tasks they were shocked by the announcement of another unforeseen Double U-Turn. Tandem biking to IJsselkade, they could get their next clue and make a choice as to whether or not they used the race mechanic to hinder other teams. Leo and Jamal decided to use the U-Turn to send Nicole and Victor (in response to their using the U-Turn vote on them in Switzerland) while Nicole and Victor used theirs on Becca and Floyd, sending them to complete 'Dry'. After this, teams could take their tandem bikes back to the Kampen Train Station.

Answer: Rachel and Elissa

Rushing out from their Road Block, teams had to take their cabs to the Ggaba Landing Site at Lake Victoria. There, when they found the local boat builders, they would be able to choose between their Detour options-- 'Salty Roll' and 'Move the Pole'. 'Salty Roll' was only completed by Rachel and Elissa and Janelle and Britney and it required that they take a wheelbarrow filled to the brim with Nile perch, bring it to a workstation, and follow a process used to preserve and prepare their caught fish. In 'Move the Pole', the six other teams used bikes to transport firewood through the village to stack high enough to receive their next clue.
