Oddly, Stewie asks himself the same Ellen Cleghorne question later in the episode. Ellen Cleghorne was on TV's "Saturday Night Live for four years and she won an Emmy for her performances despite the fact she has never found a successful vehicle. Stewie's future self is only in San Francisco because he's on a vacation to a distant time. In fact, the previous summer he went back in time to visit Jesus Christ- whose powers were a bit over-exaggerated.

While at the Circuit Shack to buy a replacement for their VCR, Peter and Lois are persuaded to purchase a new TiVo for their television. Peter feels that the purchase is much better than the time that he was tricked into buying a pet tyrannosaurus. At the store, the family also experiences a Samuel Adams commercial on a plasma TV.

Asian Reporter Tricia Takanawa is reporting from San Francisco about a possible name change for the city when Brian and Stewie pause the TiVo to see a man who looks like he's related to Stewie. Stewie determines that this must be his real father.
