'X-Files' - Season 8 Trivia

1. How did the transit cop describe the suspect on the platform?

Answer: "White male, shaved head, 20s."

The undercover transit cop radioed in the description of the "fare-jumper" and waited for the train on the platform. When the train came, he sat down and didn't see the suspect board, so called in an "all clear." When the suspect stepped through the door from another car, though, the cop reached for his gun. Unfortunately, the train screeched to a sudden stop, throwing the cop from his seat and unarming him. When the cop was found, his face was eaten away by what seemed to be acid.

Marie was preparing to be eaten by the creature, but Mulder came to the house to save it by killing it as an act of mercy. He shot it three times and the people buried the creature, but it didn't really die. When Doggett came to town to look into the case, the Sheriff dug up the grave and found that the creature had indeed survived and escaped.

Unfortunately, that axe was on "permanent display in a Calcutta museum."

At the beginning of the episode, we see a burial service in a snow-covered cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is Mulder's burial service, and we see Scully, her mother, Skinner, The Lone Gunmen, Doggett, and Kersh, among others, gathered around a gravestone. After the usual "The X-Files" introduction with the theme music, the next scene we see is in Kersh's office. At the bottom left hand corner, we see the signature type that is characteristic of "The X-Files." It reads, "THREE MONTHS LATER." Also, later in the episode, Doggett is speaking to Skinner when he tells him that Mulder's body was too deteriorated to be alive when they found him. He says to Skinner that "the body was too far gone and that was three months ago." That night, Skinner and Doggett discover that Mulder was and is, indeed, alive.

Kersh made it clear that it was not a request. So, what happened? Mulder went back to working X cases, of course.
