One of them was blocked by rubble made of Bendezium, but your new Power Bombs can blow that away, giving you access to the Bomb Slot that controls the upper portion of the pillar. By aligning the pillar so that a certain Spider Ball Track is correctly put together, you can scale it all the way up to the top of the room to find a door, with the Grapple Beam waiting right on the other side of it. The Spider Ball Tracks were color-coded for easy alignment, but what color was the Spider Ball Track you needed to put together to get to the top? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Although your Power Beam isn't all that powerful, you can amp up it's destructive force with the Charge Beam. There's only one question: Where is it?

Answer: Chozo Ruins, Watery Hall

The Charge Beam can be found in the Watery Hall in the Chozo Ruins, and to get it, you'll need the Missile Launcher and the Morph Ball. You can find a Missile Expansion in both the Frigate Crash Site and the Triclops Pit, and an Energy Tank in the Ruined Courtyard.
2. Morph Ball Bombs are excellent for bomb jumping and activating Bomb Slots (duh). To get them into your arsenal, you're going to have to beat this crazy boss and it's creepy helpers. Do you know what combination of boss and enemies that I'm talking about?

Answer: Incinerator Drone, Barbed War Wasps

You'll fight the Incinerator Drone in the Burn Dome in the Chozo Ruins. After you deal a little damage to this mechanical firestarter, it will shoot flames into the giant War Wasp Hive situated right above it, causing its inhabitants--a very irritated swarm of Barbed War Wasps--to join in on the fight. Watch it, since these overgrown pests can shoot their stingers right at you, inflicting damage and obscuring your view for a brief moment.

The defenseless Hive Mecha--which protects the Missile Launcher--sends out Ram War Wasps to attack you. Flaagra and its tentacles protect the Varia Suit, whereas the Plated Beetle and the swarm of Beetles that it precedes guard the Morph Ball.
3. After finding the Boost Ball, you'll be able to travel faster than you could by simply rolling or walking, and you'll be able to scale Half-pipes to progress further in the game. You can find it in Phendrana Drifts, but in which room is it in?

Answer: Phendrana Canyon

The Boost Ball can be found in Phendrana Canyon. Phendrana Canyon has two Missile Expansions, but not the Boost Ball. Quarantine Cave is where you can fight Thardus for the Spider Ball. As for Phendrana's Edge, it holds no upgrades, although you can find a Power Bomb Expansion and the Artifact of Spirit in rooms that are connected to it.
4. After finding the Thermal Visor, you can see sources of heat, making restoring power to certain devices and fighting cloaked enemies a breeze. The Thermal Visor is hidden within a Space Pirate facility known as the Research Core, but in which region is the Research Core?

Answer: Phendrana Drifts

Although you'd probably say that the Research Core would be in Phazon Mines, the Space Pirates main base on Tallon IV, they actually have a second base in Phendrana Drifts, and that is where the Research Core is. Although the Pirates have also set up shop in Magmoor Caverns, there is no research being done there.

As for the Chozo Ruins, the Space Pirates have not set up any sort of base there, mainly due to all of the Chozo Ghosts.
5. After your little underwater expedition through the Crashed Pirate Frigate, you'll end up on the other side of Tallon IV, where a elevator leading to Phazon Mines can be found. After arriving in the mines, you'll receive a message telling you to go to a room called the Main Dynamo. What new upgrade can be found there?

Answer: Power Bombs

The message was about a power surge, so if you remembered that, then you should have been able to figure it out. The Plasma Beam is found in Plasma Processing in Magmoor Caverns, and you already found the Super Missiles in the Observatory in Phendrana Drifts.

Unfortunately, the Screw Attack isn't found in this Metroid game, although Nintendo graciously put it in "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes".
6. So after fightin through hordes of Space Pirates, including ones that use cheap knock-offs of your beams and some Phazon-enhanced Elite Pirates, you've finally arrive at the Main Dynamo, ready to get the Power Bombs. Just waltz right in and...what? The doors are locked behind you? What's going on? Wait a minute...is something firing at you!? But you don't see a thing! What cloaked enemy is trying to turn you into worm food?

Answer: Sentry Drone

Only a Sentry Drone can lock doors, so remembering that fact can help you answer this one (Aqua Drones can too, but they are only found in the Crashed Frigate, and none of them are invisible). Although you can't see the cloaked mechanical pest, your trusty Wavebuster can still track it and reduce it to scrap.

There are invisible Shadow Pirates, as well as invisible Pulse Bombu, but neither of them are the ones attacking you here. As for the Chozo Ghosts, you can't even find them in this region.
7. Remember the Ore Processing room you went through earlier? The one with the giant pillar in the center made up of three rotating sections that are controlled by Bomb Slots? One of them was blocked by rubble made of Bendezium, but your new Power Bombs can blow that away, giving you access to the Bomb Slot that controls the upper portion of the pillar. By aligning the pillar so that a certain Spider Ball Track is correctly put together, you can scale it all the way up to the top of the room to find a door, with the Grapple Beam waiting right on the other side of it. The Spider Ball Tracks were color-coded for easy alignment, but what color was the Spider Ball Track you needed to put together to get to the top?

Answer: Yellow

By alignin the yellow Spider Ball Track, you can scale the central pillar to get to the room where your long-lost Grapple Beam is hidden. The blue Spider Ball Track will lead you to a ledge where you can access the Bomb Slot that controls the middle portion of the pillar, while the red Spider Ball Track will lead you to the ledge that has the door that will lead you to the second level of the mines and the Bomb Slot that controls the upper portion of the pillar.

There's no green Spider Ball Track on the central pillar.
8. Finally, you leave Phazon Mines and return to Tallon Overworld. Before you head back to Magmoor Caverns, however, you can find another upgrade, in the vincity. You can find it in the Life Grove, and you'll need the Power Boms to get there. What new toy can you get in this room?

Answer: X-Ray Visor

With the X-Ray Visor, you can see invisible platforms, identify fake walls that can be blown up with the Power Bombs, and even track those elusive Chozo Ghosts with ease. In fact, try using your new visor right when you get it; you'll find something interesting. The Gravity Suit was located in Phendrana Drifts, as was the Spider Ball. The Phazon Suit is located in Phazon Mines.
9. Back in Phazon Mines, there was a Plasma Beam Door blocked off by some sort of force field. With the Power Bombs, you can unblock the counsel that controls the force field. After you deactivate it, you can use your Plasma Beam to get through the door to find the Flamethrower, the Plasma Beam Charge Combo. However, what room is the force field and the Plasma Beam door in?

Answer: Mine Security Station

If you remember correctly, the Mine Security Station has the force field and the Plasma Beam door that the Flamethrower is behind. The Elite Quarters is where you'll fight the Omega Pirate for the Phazon Suit, while the Main Quarry and Metroid Quarantine A each has a Missile Expansion in them.
10. The core essence of Metroid Prime is the final boss of the game, located deep within the Impact Crater. However, none of your main weapons can even phase it. Before you push that reset button, you do have one weapon that can defeat Metroid Prime; you just don't know you have it until you carry out a specific action. What is the only weapon that can defeat Metroid Prime?

Answer: Phazon Beam

Technically, you'll get the Phazon Beam along with the Phazon Suit once you defeat the Omega Pirate. However, the Inventory Screen won't register that you have it until you step in one of the puddles of liquid Phazon that Metroid Prime creates to power the beam; once the puddle is all used up, you'll have to wait untill Prime creates another Phazon puddle to use the Phazon Beam again, and you may have to deal with a couple of Metroids while getting to the puddle.

There are Hyper Missiles and Hyper Grapple that are Phazon-based, but those don't appear until "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption", and they are not referred to as Phazon Missiles or Phazon Grapple. Phazon Bombs aren't a real weapon in "Meroid Prime".
