Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Russell Crowe

Answer: Nana Glen, Australia

Russell Crowe has a 320 hectare farm in Nana Glen, Australia, about 30 kilometers northwest of Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. The Academy Award winning actor took Oprah Winfrey on a tour of the ranch in 2006, and Crowe was extremely proud to show off his large herd of cows.

Crowe's farm was severely damaged by the wildfires which ravaged Australia in late 2019 and early 2020. Fortunately heavy rains later in the year helped repair most of the damage.
2. Zayn Malik

Answer: New Hope, Pennsylvania

Former member of One Direction Zayn Malik owns a farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania, that is adjacent to land owned by Yolanda Hadid. Malik has been dating supermodel Gigi Hadid since 2015, and the couple had a daughter in September 2020.

Malik was raised in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. He likes the Pennsylvania countryside because it reminds him of Yorkshire. New Hope is located along the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border, on the Delaware River, about 16 miles northwest of Trenton.
3. Chip and Joanna Gaines

Answer: Crawford, Texas

Chip and Joanna Gaines of the HGTV series "Fixer Upper" own a 40 acre ranch in Crawford, Texas and raise cows there. They bought the property in 2012 and renovated a farmhouse built in 1895. Crawford is about 20 miles west of Waco, and is along Texas Highway 185.

Crawford gained a great deal of notoriety during the presidency of George W Bush, as he often visited Prairie Chapel Ranch, a few miles northwest of Crawford.
4. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

Answer: Bunya Hill, Australia

Academy Award winning actress Nicole Kidman has plenty of houses: New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and Sydney, but she and her husband spend much of their time on their farm in Bunya Hill, Australia. They have a variety of animals, including alpacas and black angus cattle.

Kidman was born in Honolulu, but spent much of her life in Sydney before becoming an international celebrity. Urban was born in New Zealand and grew up in Queensland.

Bunya Hill is about 140 kilometers southwest of Sydney, in New South Wales, just off Australia Highway M31.
5. Carey Mulligan

Answer: Devon, England

Academy Award winning actress Carey Mulligan and musician husband Marcus Mumford own a 16th century farmhouse in Devon that includes cows, among other animals. According to the Daily Mail, the property cost a cool 2 million pounds.

Devon is in southwestern England, home to the towns of Exeter and Plymouth as well as Dartmoor National Park.
6. Carrie Underwood

Answer: Franklin, Tennessee

County music superstar Carrie Underwood owns a 400 acre farm near Franklin, Tennessee, along with husband Mike Fisher. Franklin is about 20 miles south of Nashille, just off I-65. The farm includes cows and an orchard.

Underwood is used to being around cows. She grew up on a farm in Chechotah, Oklahoma, before hitting the big time on "American Idol".
7. Martha Stewart

Answer: Katonah, New York

I'll be nice and say Martha Stewart is famous for her work as a chef and decorator. Stewart lives on a 153 acre farm that she calls Cantitoe Corners near Katonah, Bedford, New York. The farm dates back to 1784 when it was known as Sycamore farm.

Katonah is in Westchester County, just off Interstate 87, about 45 miles north of New York City. There is a Metro North commuter railroad stop in Katonah.
8. Martina McBride

Answer: Sharon, Kansas

Before becoming a music superstar, Martina McBride grew up on a dairy farm in Sharon, Kansas. She moved to Nashville when she was 22. She now spends most of her time in Nashville when she is not touring, and as far as I can tell, does not own a farm.

Sharon is a very small town in Barber County, Kansas. It is about 75 miles southwest of Wichita, along US Highway 160. The town is very proud of Martina, and has named a local park after her.
9. Tom Wopat

Answer: Lodi, Wisconsin

Tom Wopat grew up on dairy farm in Lodi, Wisconsin. He picked up the acting bug during his time at the University of Wisconsin. Wopat became famous as Luke Duke on the "The Dukes of Hazzard" (1979-1985). He has acted off and on since, mostly in television.

Lodi is a fairly small town in Columbia County, around 25 miles northwest of Madison. It is located fairly close to Lake Wisconsin. Lodi can also claim athletes Joseph Detmer and Tracy Sachtjen among its notable residents.
10. Charlize Theron

Answer: Benoni, South Africa

Before becoming an Academy Award winning actress, Charlize Theron helped her parents on their cattle ranch in Benoni, South Africa. Since moving to the United States, she spends most of her time in Los Angeles when she is not working. Apparently she got enough of cows growing up.

Benoni is in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It is one of the eastern suburbs of Johannesburg, along Highway 12.
