In "The Addams Family", the Addamses are swindled out of their home by their lawyer Tully and loan shark Abigail Craven when the two claim that the man Ms. Craven found in the Bermuda Triangle is Fester, the rightful heir to the Addams estate. The Addamses relocate to a cheap motel, having no funds for anything else.

In order to make money, Morticia takes a position as a preschool teacher where she makes all of the children cry after reading them "Hansel & Gretel" where she took the side of the witch and asked the kids to think about the pain from being pushed into an oven.

In "The Addams Family Values", Uncle Fester marries Debbie, the Addamses' nanny. Debbie is actually a black widow who intends to kill Fester on their honeymoon and take his family fortune. Morticia states she admires Debbie for her plan and the fact that she was able to control Fester by promising him sex and keeping him away from his family.

However, she absolutely cannot forgive Debbie for decorating her home in bright pastel colors.

In both the musical and the 2019 animated film, Morticia struggles in her role as a mother, specifically to Wednesday. In the musical, Wednesday begins wearing bright colors in order to act normal to her boyfriend's family. Morticia is upset at this and believes she has failed Wednesday. In addition, Morticia overhears and misinterprets a conversation Wednesday has with her boyfriend which makes Morticia feel useless and old.

In the animated film, Wednesday begins exploring "normal" things with her new "normal" friends. She neglects to attend a séance with Morticia and wears a pink hairclip. Morticia struggles to turn Wednesday away from these "normal" influences and feels like a bad mother.

Like in most "Addams Family" video games, Morticia is the last family member to be rescued and can only be saved by defeating the final boss. In this game, she is being held captive by the lawyer Tully in the vault of the mansion which can only be accessed by collecting $1,000,000 and rescuing all of the other Addamses.

Morticia most frequently calls Gomez "mon cher", meaning my dear in French. The French-speaking really drives Gomez crazy. In the 1990s animated series, Morticia affectionately addressed her husband with "Oh, Gomez". All of the incorrect answers are Gomez' pet names for Morticia.

In "Wednesday in Missing" many of the actors from the original television series came back to voice their animated counterparts. Morticia and Gomez are largely absent from the action and the mystery because Gomez takes Morticia on a second honeymoon to the romantic Okefenokee Swamp, leaving the rest of the Addamses and the Scooby Gang to deal with a pterodactyl who threatens the Addams Mansion.
