Answer: President of the United States of America

George Washington became the first President of the United States of America when he took office on April 30, 1789. Some of the important jobs that the President is expected to perform include being the Chief Executive, the Commander in Chief, the Foreign Policy Director and the Legislative Leader of the country.
2. Q is for: The group of people that migrated to the United States in the 17th century.

Answer: Quakers

The Quakers moved to the United States from England to escape religious persecution. William Penn set up a land, which would later come to be known as the state of Pennsylvania, where the Quakers could come to live their lives and practice their religion in a safe environment.

Answer: Ronald Reagan

Reagan was a central figure in the dismantling of the Cold War era. On June 12, 1987, while speaking at the Berlin Wall, Reagan was quoted saying "General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Jockey Ron Turcotte became the first of three riders who won the Triple Crown during the 1970s. Secretariat had many victories during his career including wins at the Sanford Stakes, Hopeful Stakes, Futurity Stakes, Laurel Futurity, Garden State, Bay Shore Stakes, Gotham Stakes, Arlington Invitational, Marlboro Cup, Man o' War Stakes, Canadian International, Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes.

Answer: Tobacco

Tobacco was the main crop of the south until the invention of the cotton-gin by Eli Whitney in 1794. The farming of tobacco was also one of the reasons that the southern United States favored slavery. Tobacco has been cultivated in the Americas since about 3000 B.C.E. and has been used for smoking since about 2000 B.C.E.

Answer: Ulysses S. Grant

Ulysses was born April 27, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio. At the age of 17 Grant chose the direction that his life was going to take by enrolling at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Grant was also the top General for the Union during the United States Civil War and was the man who accepted Confederate General Robert E. Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House.

Answer: Valley Forge

Some of the struggles that the Army faced at Valley Forge included improper clothing, not enough food and lots of diseases floating around like typhus, typhoid, dysentery and pneumonia. George Washington still went on to win the American Revolutionary War and he became the first President of the United States of America.

Answer: Watergate

This attempted political sabotage is what eventually led to President Richard Nixon's dramatic resignation on August 9, 1974. Nixon was succeeded by Gerald Ford who didn't take long to issue a full pardon to Nixon on September 8, 1974 thus abolishing any crimes that he may have committed during his presidency.

Answer: Yankees

The American Civil War saw the two sides become known as the Yankees (men from the north) and the Rebels (men from the south). Just like we see all too many times in baseball when it comes to the World Series, the Yankees won the Civil War as well.
10. Z is for: The name of the first park you could go to and see animals in America.

Answer: Philadelphia Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo was chartered on March 21, 1859 but was delayed in opening to the public because of the American Civil War until July 1, 1874. The Philadelphia Zoo is now the home of over 1,500 animals and it attracts well over 1,000,000 people per year!
