Ron is Harry's best friend and the youngest of his brothers. (The youngest member of the family is Ginny who is the only daughter). He wants to match up to his elder brothers and shine in something. He also does not like getting many of his brothers' second-hand things.

Tonks is the cousin of Sirius and can change her appearance at will. She gets married to the werewolf Remus Lupin later in the series and she likes to make her hair colour bubblegum pink.

Viktor Krum had to rescue Hermione from the Black Lake, and transfigured the top half of his body into that of a shark so that he could breathe underwater. He was the second one to reach the top and would have been second but since Harry reached first below and stayed to help the other contestants, Harry was awarded second place.

Quirrell was possessed by Voldemort and was providing him with energy to stay alive. Harry thought that Snape was the one out to steal the stone, but in the end it was Quirrell who did it and tried to kill Harry. Quirrell died in the end of the book but Voldemort's spirit was well and truly alive.

Hagrid gives Hedwig to Harry on his eleventh birthday, and Harry likes the snowy owl very much. Hedwig is killed in the 'Deathly Hallows' on the 'Night of the Seven Potters' by one of the Death Eaters, and Harry misses her very much after that.
