You can imagine my surprise and amusement when I found that "Libra" a brand of feminine hygiene products here in Australia started printing trivial "Odd Spots" on the wrapping of their product. These questions have been generated from this information.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Odd Spot Number 153 - The human body contains enough iron to make a nail how long?

Answer: 7.62cm

I found the following blurb printed on the side of the pack. "For fun, games and information for teens, go to www.libragirl.com"
2. What was the first man-made item to exceed the speed of sound?

Answer: leather whip

Courtesy of "Odd Spot #113", I now know that the leather bullwhip was the first man-made item to break the sound barrier. I can be totally honest and say that I did not know that before reading it on the wrapper.
3. What is the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth?

Answer: Arachibutyrophobia

"Odd Spot #122" gave me this information, although there are certainly a number of high-quality quizzes on this site where you can find information about phobias.
4. What is the most common non-contagious disease in the world?

Answer: Tooth decay

Thank you to "Odd Spot #4" for this information. I'm sure that a wealth of dentists and oral hygienists would agree on this one.
5. Who help popularize the modern flushing toilet?

Answer: Thomas Crapper

Courtesy of "Odd Spot #49". Did you know that "Dunny" is an Australian colloquial term for the toilet? It's a word commonly heard here, along with "The Loo".
6. After what age do humans begin to shrink?

Answer: 30

"Odd Spot #20". This particular piece of information worries me a bit since I turned 30 a couple of years ago now. Maybe it is not just that my children are growing taller, I'm also shrinking!
7. What does the poisonous copperhead snake smell like?

Answer: Fresh cut cucumbers

Now that I know this from reading "Odd Spot #19", I won't have to go out and smell one for myself. I'm not sure that it is a wise idea to test this particular fact for yourself. I would suggest just taking the word of the wrapper.
8. According to the Libra wrappers, what are the only birds with penises?

Answer: Swans

"Odd Spot #54" states that swans are the only birds with penises. This is NOT true - some ducks and ostriches apparently have them too. An interesting article can be found at http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/enviro/EnviroRepublish_366856.htm
9. You can hear the tick of a watch from 6 metres away in very quiet conditions?

Answer: True

"Odd Spot #97" states that this is true. I have a watch that I keep in my sock drawer overnight because the tick is so loud.
10. In medieval England, beer was often served as a part of breakfast.

Answer: True

"Odd Spot #50". Beer for breakfast? Something I haven't had since my college days! I have heard an old wives tale that recommends nursing mothers drink Guiness, or other brands of stout beers, but I'm not sure about the breakfast bit!
