No one knows why Coffee Pot Bayou has that name. Smacks and Papys Bayous are around Weedon Island.

There is a sign on Park Street in the Jungle Prada commemorating this landing. He landed in 1528. The account of his landing and encounter with the Indian princess Hirrihigua is remarkably similar to Captain Smith's account of his encounter with Pocahontas.
