He is apparently most closely related to Hobbits, particularly those of the Stoor strain.

There were 13 Dwarves plus one hobbit. Bilbo was hired to be the burglar and to change the unlucky number. Gandalf did not take part on the entire journey so really shouldn't be included in the numbers.

Gandalf was known by many different names. His original name was Olorin, Denethor II called him the Grey Fool because he didn't like him, and the elves called him Mithrandir.

Bard the Bowman killed Smaug with a shot from his black bow. It found the only weakness in Smaug's thick armour.

Answer: say 'Friend'

Once the mines were sealed by magic, the only way to enter them was to 'speak friend and enter.'
