Steph's grandma was able to fill in for her that Uncle Sunny had spent many years romancing a woman named Rita Raguzzi. Connie provided the address for Rita, and Steph and Lula went to question her. Rita, a late middle-aged woman with a Mediterranean complexion and bright blonde hair, was not very forthcoming about Sunny's whereabouts.

She did offer that all she wanted was for him to marry her so she could inherit his fortune, as he was toting around a bad "ticker". In other words, the man could die from heart failure at any moment.

Stephanie and Lula followed the getaway car from Rita's house to a three story brownstone at the corner of Fifteenth Street and Freeman. Steph knew it was one of the many buildings owned by Uncle Sunny, and Lula knew it as the Chestnut Social Club from her days as a 'ho. Lula considered that it may have been so named after the elderly men's shriveled "parts".

Ranger engaged Steph in a little recon by attending the funeral of one of the victims. While there, she learned that the three women found in dumpsters had all been avid "Bingo" players. One lady in attendance knew it for a fact, because she herself played the game online on Mondays, but attended two different physical locations during the week. All three women had also attended games at at least one of those two locations. Shortly after this discovery, Ranger found out a fourth woman had been left in a dumpster that very night. So, he employed Steph to attend the next "Bingo" game and do some snooping on her own.

Yep, old Sunny landed right on top of her and she broke her middle finger. She did not get away with him, of course, as the noise had alerted some of his goons to her presence.

Mr. Newcomb had been her high school Algebra teacher, and he'd given her a C. He told Stephanie he'd taken a job at the liquor store part-time, on Friday evenings and Saturdays. He explained he preferred selling legal depressants to adults rather than teaching a bunch of teens on illegal ones.

He also confirmed that Lois Fratelli, Bitsy Muddle, Rose Walchek and Melvina Gillian (dumpster killer victims) had all been customers at his store.

Antwan was out for a serious crime when he decided to skip his court appearance. Stephanie was able to get info about him using local basketball courts from a hooker friend of Lula's, but other than "not in the morning", the hooker was not able to offer much of a time frame. So Antwan, the supposed streetwise gang banger, actually had a Twitter account that led Steph to the time he played basketball. Once she and Lula found him, they tracked him back to a graffiti-covered apartment building and did a short stakeout.

As usual, Stephanie had her gun and it was not loaded, because she never ever wanted to use it. Lula had her gun inside her fake designer purse, and that saved her from taking a bullet, but the purse was ruined. It was with Antwan's own very impressive hand gun, dropped in the struggle, that Steph had to defend herself.

She never meant to hit Antwan with a bullet, but he moved into its path. It grazed the side of his head, taking off a portion of his ear with it. The subsequent recoil hit her right in the face, breaking her nose.

The entire event caused her to quit her job the next day.

It was a job that Grandma Mazur had earlier called "a pip of a job". It was no secret that both Joe Morelli and Stephanie's mom would love for her to quit working for Vinnie at the bond office, and Ranger would probably breathe his own sigh of relief as well.

It seemed Randy had a bit of a crush on Steph as well (what non skip didn't) and hired her on the spot when she went in to see him. Her first task was to make sure a whole roasted pig stayed at the right temperature, but she fainted upon seeing it in the barbecue pit! Randy mistook her faint for a faint of pure bliss (as his own would be), and this caused her to begin to suspect him for the dumpster murders.

The next night she went home with him to spy on his place, and ended up setting fire to his apartment above the laundry mat.

Stephanie couldn't make a commitment to Joe because of her intense attraction to Ranger, not that Joe pressed her for complete exclusivity. But, over the book series Ranger has made it clear he was not the exclusive type. So, of course he did not ask for a commitment. Grandma did go on a date with the main skip, Uncle Sunny, and called Steph for help when he dropped dead of heart failure during her pole dance.

When Steph and Lula got to Uncle Sunny's, Lula took off after a Kevin sighting and Steph discovered Venetian blind cords. Those had been used to strangle the four old women left in dumpsters. Uncle Sunny was the killer! He used Moe and Shorty to dispose of his victims' bodies.

They arrived before Steph could get Grandma Mazur and Sunny out.

They decided to partially bury the ladies in cement, where they could then shoot them. Poor Rita Raguzzi was dead already and buried in cement as well. Lula came to their rescue, calling in all of the appropriate people for help. Kevin was Uncle Sunny's, to be used later in the sale of illegal game for food in his new restaurant venture.

He was sent on to a zoo in Naples, Florida where he'd been destined to go to all along. In the end, Steph decided to become a bounty hunter again, and she and Lula had their sights set on Antwan Brown.
