Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The novel opens to an interview with a taxi driver named Robert Harris. Who is interviewing Robert?

Answer: Nick Berry

Robert was a witness to Betsy playing hero. Though the story sounded like a tall tale, 52 year old Robert passed the breathalyzer test. He recited to Nick a story of a tall blonde woman who was able to flip his cab back onto its wheels. He also explained a weird attraction to Betsy, though she was young enough to be his daughter.

His own daughter was nineteen and attended the University of Minnesota's Duluth campus.
2. Betsy goes to the local unemployment agency to find a job.

Answer: False

The man at the agency stressed that it was a re-employment agency, and not an unemployment agency. Betsy went there not to find a job, but to get unemployment insurance. Once there she was not only corrected on the name of the place, but informed that they do not handle unemployment benefits in the office.

She could call a hotline or use the internet, but she could not use their phone. She left there very irritated, and headed to her favorite place- the Mall of America!
3. When Betsy gets to 'Heaven on Earth', or the Mall of America, for the first time, where does she park her car?

Answer: Texas

The parking area for the Mall of America is divided into state names. She had to cross a small side street to enter Macy's, where she was going to shoe shop. Betsy commented on how cool it was that store (Macy*s) used the asterisk instead of an apostrophe.
Later in the book she parks in the Georgia parking lot.
4. Who is Betsy's new boss at Macy's?

Answer: John Mason

She arrived at the store wanting to see the new Etienne Aigner shoes. The sales lady she encountered, Brigid, lied and said that Macy's did not have them yet. Betsy knew that these shoes had come out six days prior, and we then found out that Brigid hadn't done her job.

She had not set up the display in a timely manner, and tried to cover this fact. Her boss, John Mason, fired her and hired Betsy at $9 an hour. When I searched their website, I could not find this brand at Macy's.
5. What hospital is Betsy's roommate, Marc Spangler, a resident at?

Answer: Children's Hospital in Minneapolis

When Betsy first met him, Marc was ready to jump off of a building. He was tired of seeing the suffering of children. But, feeding from Betsy saved his life. He became her roommate in Apple Valley, and moved with her to St. Paul in this story.
6. Pick the choice that does NOT apply to Betsy's new home at 607 Summit Avenue in St. Paul.

Answer: it costs $5000 a week to rent

It was actually $3,000 a week to rent the home. Jessica wanted to buy it straight out, but Betsy did not want to commit to such luxury. She changed her mind later, and Jessica purchased the house. To further describe their new home, it is three stories high, has eleven bedrooms and fourteen fireplaces!
7. Who does Betsy meet while she is vacuuming her bedroom closet for the third time?

Answer: Marie

Marie is a ghost. She is a young girl with blonde curls and blue eyes. Betsy did not realize she was a ghost for a long time. She thought she was the daughter of one of the many new employees hired by Jessica. Once she knew Marie was a ghost, she was able to make the other vampires to see her as well. She simply commanded them to "see" Marie, and they could.
8. What did the team of teenage vampire hunters call themselves?

Answer: Blade Warriors

The Blade Warriors were lead by a priest named Father Markus. He'd been initiated via emails and private funding to fight evil. So, he brought in the teenage hunters from his parish. They were all kids (Jon, Bill, Drake and a female named Ani) from shaky backgrounds. Drake was killed right off, so Betsy never met him. Later, we found out that the money came from another vampire, Monique Silver.
9. What is the name of Monique Silver's club?

Answer: Scratch

Monique was very wealthy, and Scratch was the club she owned locally. Betsy's boss, John Mason, was one of her "sheep". Sheep are humans that offered their blood freely and were kept alive. John hired Betsy to keep an eye on her for Monique. Monique hired Father Markus and the Blade Warriors to kill Betsy, all because she wanted Eric Sinclair, Betsy's King.
It is at Scratch that Monique staked Betsy. But, Betsy awoke when Marc pulled the stake out! She proved once again that she was no ordinary vampire!
10. Who killed Monique to avenge her attack on Betsy?

Answer: Betsy

Betsy marched over to Monique and staked her with the same stake she'd used on Betsy! Since she killed Monique, Betsy became the new owner of all of Monique's properties. She owned two cars, Scratch, a spa in Switzerland, an English private school, and a restaurant in France.
Tina and Eric moved into the new mansion with Betsy, Jessica, and Marc. They brought the "Book of the Dead" with them to station in the library. The book will become its own character in the next book, "Undead and Unappreciated". I hope you enjoyed the quiz. Look for one on the third 'Undead' title next!
