Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the start of the book, Betsy was in Hell to attend a meeting with her committee. When she got home from the meeting, how long had passed in the real world?

Answer: 2 weeks

She met George Washington's mother, Mary Bell Washington, while she was in Hell. The woman was none too pleased with her son, the "traitor" to England. She returned home when she received a message from Sinclair that read "I miss you. I want you. Come." After they'd "reconnected", he told her she'd been gone for two weeks. Marc, Tina, and Laura all recommended she use location clocks like the ones used at the NY Stock Exchange.

Then, she'd always know "when" it was back home. She ended up with a wrist watch instead.
2. Sinclair told Betsy that Laura planned to out vampires to the world.

Answer: True

When Betsy found Laura, worshiping inside Sinclair's church, Laura admitted she had been using Youtube to talk about some of their adventures. What her Great Idea was (yes it was capitalized), was that she wanted to prove the existence of God based on the existence of Satan (Laura's real mom), and convert the world to Christianity. What she wanted was to earn a figurative high-five from Jesus when she arrived in Heaven.
3. Which of her people became upset with Betsy because she would not allow that person to return to Hell?

Answer: Sinclair

Sinclair thought it was because she didn't trust him there. That was partially correct, but she really just needed more time to figure it all out. Tina and Marc accompanied her there regularly, and were on a committee to make changes in Hell. Laura had no interest in returning, but instead wanted to make herself look good by outing her sister as evil. Betsy did eventually allow Sinclair back into Hell, and he was able to see he was not needed there at all.
4. Which form of communication worked between Hell and the "real world"?

Answer: Texting

Betsy was surprised that texting worked in Hell. Her telepathic link with Sinclair did not work there, unless he was there with her. In truth, Hell bent to Betsy's will, and most likely she wanted that quick and easy form of communication, but did not want phone calls or telepathy interrupting her work.
5. Which of Betsy's gang found a new love interest in this book?

Answer: Marc

After Laura used Youtube and her blog to out the vampire world, the Summit Avenue house was flush with reporters. One of those was a man named Will Mason, who ran a blog called "The G-Spot". The G stood for "ghosts", as he was a ghost hunter who could also see ghosts.

He immediately fell for Marc when they bonded over John Cusack, and then Marc saved his life. Betsy accepted Will into their circle after she tested him. She brought Cathie home from Hell, and he could definitely see her.
6. What was the name of Sinclair's long time vampire friend, who was killed by a teenage vampire name Cindy?

Answer: Lawrence

Betsy had to kill Cindy after the teen attacked her and the other residents of Summit Avenue. Lawrence Taliaferro was friends with Sinclair, Tina, and Cindy's family. Her mother had died recently from cancer, and her father was lost in his grief, so Lawrence was looking out for Cindy. She wanted to be turned into a vampire, at age 17, to avoid her family's history of cancer. Betsy refused to allow it, because Cindy had no idea what she was in for being turned. So, Cindy found another vampire to do it. That resulted in Lawrence's final death, and the attack at Betsy's house. Cindy and Lawrence were able to reconcile that event in Hell.

As a human, Lawrence had served as a go between for the government and Native American Indians. They called him No-Sugar-in-Your-Mouth because he was always honest with them.
7. What did Jessica and Dick/Nick finally name the twins?

Answer: Elizabeth and Eric

It took them a few weeks to come up with names, and get the paperwork underway, but the twins were named after the queen and king of vampires. Dick and Jessica also decided to move into their own home. This was in part because of Laura's attempt to expose them all, and partly because they believed it would stop the twins from time traveling.
8. Father Markus turned out to be an impostor. Was this impostor Satan in disguise?

Answer: Yes

Betsy figured it all out by herself. There was too much attempt to undermine her work in Hell, which would be unlike the real Father Markus and much like the former ruler. Betsy exposed her in the food court of Hell (Hell looked like the Mall of America, Betsy's favorite place), and this was the time she allowed Sinclair to visit Hell again.

The Morningstar appeared as herself, like Lena Olin in an expensive black dress and Christian Louboutin pumps. Betsy made her look like a fool, and then cast her out using a spell from Stephen King's book "The Eyes of the Dragon".

She faded away in sight of many of Hell's occupants.
9. Betsy had Laura come to the house to explain what would be done about Laura's recent shenanigans. What did Betsy tell Laura she would do about her scheme?

Answer: She said they would not deny it to the world

Their father had financed some of the scheme to out vampires to the world. He'd earned his money in an insurance scam that left Antonia dead and him legally dead as well. He'd faked his own death, and then made a claim on the insurance. Betsy made it clear to Laura how pathetic she had been.

She told Laura that she hadn't outed vampires for the betterment of mankind, but so she would look good by comparison. Laura had bonded with "dad" over their mutual hatred of Betsy, and then when things heated up, he skipped town as usual. Betsy explained that maybe the reason Ancient Betsy had taken over the world was because Laura had outed vampires and forced her hand. Laura hadn't even considered that possibility.

She told Laura none of them would be denying that they were vampires.

Their strategy would be honesty. Laura tried to refuse believing what she heard, but Betsy made it very clear. She told Laura not to come back to her house, and to try actually doing good to prove she was good. She said it was time for Laura to help humanity instead of laying blame on vampires.
10. Who stood onstage and gave a press conference in the "Epilogue"?

Answer: Betsy

Tina organized the press conference for Betsy, who came onstage wearing sunglasses to bear the lights pointed at her.

Betsy: "Hi, my name is Betsy Taylor, and I'm queen of the vampires. Yes, vampires are real. Any questions?"
