The deputy tells the Chief someone left him a Valentine's gift on his desk. The Chief asks who left it there for him. The deputy does not know. The Chief fears it is yet another warning from Harry Warden, the killer. The Chief and the Mayor had opened a similar Valentine's box to find the first warning in it, along with a human heart. The Chief opens the box and finds just chocolates. He is relieved and opens the note. The notes is from Mabel and it says, "Be My Valentine". Chief Newby is upset by this because he had found Mabel dead earlier that day. The killer had placed her dead body in a dryer.

Don Francks plays the role of Chief Jack Newby. According to Wikipedia, Don is born in 1932 in Toronto, Canada. In one interesting note, Don is an honorary member of The Cree Indian Tribe. His name in the tribe is Iron Buffalo. Don is also a jazz musician, he plays the drums. He did the voice for Skunk in "My Dad the Rock Star". Don does not have a great deal of screen time in "My Bloody Valentine", but in my opinion, it is still an important part. He is the one who discovers Harry Warden died 5 years ago. He is also the one who tells us that Axel sees Harry kill his dad.

Answer: She is impaled on a shower head.

Johnny and Sylvia leave the party to go to the entrance of the mine shaft. They want to be alone. Johnny and Sylvia start to kiss. Sylvia asks Johnny for a beer. Johnny leaves to get them some beers. Sylvia lies back and stares at the miner's gear hanging from the ceiling. The gear is stored in the shaft's entrance by rope. The rope lowers and raises the gear for easy storage. The gear all of a sudden starts to fall around Sylvia. As the gear falls, Happy's dead body comes down. Sylvia screams and tries to run out of the mine entrance. The killer grabs and picks up Sylvia. The killer takes Sylvia to the showers. He then impales her head on a shower head. We don't see the actual event occur, but we see a shot of her head being pushed toward the shower head. Johnny returns to find Sylvia dangling from the shower head. He runs to the party and just can't speak, he is terribly upset. The kids finally get the news out of him that Sylvia is dead. Axel runs out from the kitchen and announces that Dave is dead too.

Helene Udy plays the role of Sylvia. She is not only an actor, but a producer as well. Her claim to fame, in my opinion, would have to be the her role of Myra on the television show "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman". In my opinion she is the best member of the cast. I actually believed she is afraid for her life. It reminds me of my favorite scene in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" when the girl gets put on the meat hook. Her performance is very believable in the film.

Answer: Mayor

Mr. Hanniger is the Mayor of the town. He is also the owner of the town mine. When we first see Mayor Hanniger he is talking to Mabel about the Valentine's Day dance. He really seems to want everyone to have a good time. Chief Newby joins Mayor Hanniger and Mabel outside of the social hall. The Chief and Mayor have an errand to run and start to go to get into the Chief's car. Howard runs toward them with a package for the Mayor. He hands the Mayor a Valentine's candy box. The Mayor is amused by this and starts to question Mabel and the Chief to see if they sent it to him. Neither say they gave it to him. The Chief and Mayor get in the car and head out of town. The Mayor opens the box and starts to scream. There is a human heart in the candy box along with a note. The note is a warning not to have another dance or more people will die. Both the Chief and Mayor believe Harry Warden has returned to town because Harry swore if the town ever held a dance again he would return and kill anyone involved.

Larry Reynolds plays Mayor Hanniger. Interestingly enough his first name is never mentioned. He is the father of Jessie in the movie.

Answer: hot dogs

While the kids party at the mine's break room, we see a girl walk by eating a hot dog. Dave enters the kitchen looking for something to eat. He sees a pot that contains hot dogs. As he is going for a hot dog, the killer comes up from behind. The killer forces Dave's head into the pot of boiling hot dogs.

It is unclear whether Dave dies from the burns or from drowning in the hot dog water. We later see some girls adding water into the pot of hot dogs. They find a human heart in the pot. They simply say gross and blame it on Howard, the practical joker. Johnny walks into the room to get some beers for him and Sylvia.

While he opens the door one of the girls distracts him and he doesn't see Dave's dead body in the refrigerator. He gets his beer and shuts the door.

Answer: Pool

Michael and Harriett play pool in the mine break room. She takes the cue from him and she shows him how to make a shot. After the fight between Axel and Jessie, they join the others on the trip to the mine. Mike and Harriett decide they want to be alone for awhile. So they tell Hollis they will catch up with the group later. They go into the mine engine room. Michael and Harriett start to make out. The next time we see them, they are both dead. They both have been run through with an enormous drill bit.

Hollis is the peacemaker of the group of friends. He tries to help Jessie with his problem with Sarah. When Jessie and Axel get into the fight at the party, Hollis breaks it up. Hollis takes Sarah, Patty, Howard, Michael, and Harriett on a tour of the mine. Michael and Harriett split from the main group and tell Hollis they will catch up with him later. Michael and Harriett go into the mine engine room. Hollis takes the girls and Howard on the tour of the mine. While they are in the mine Jessie finds them and tells them of the killings. He tells them Harry Warden is the killer. They are about to leave when Howard reminds them that Michael and Harriett are still there too. Jessie and Hollis split up to find them. Howard is told to watch the girls. Hollis goes to the engine room to find Michael and Harriett dead. The killer steps out from the shadows and shoots Hollis with a nail gun. He shoots him twice in the head. Hollis stumbles out of the engine room and collapses a few feet from Patty and Sarah.

Keith Knight plays the lovable oaf, Hollis. Keith recently passed away from brain cancer in 2007. Keith has also appears in "Meatballs" with Bill Murray. This was Keith's first acting gig; he plays the role of Larry Finkelstein.

Sarah and Jessie were dating until Jessie left town for the west coast. Sarah doesn't know if Jessie is ever going to return. While Jessie is gone, Sarah and Axel start to date. Sarah and Axel date for a few months and everything is going well for them. Just as suddenly as Jessie left town, he reappears. He also returns to his job at the mine. He finds out Axel and Sarah are a couple. He says that it doesn't bother him, but you can tell that he is lying. He tries to talk to Axel about the situation between the three of them. Axel tells Jessie he left town and now Sarah is his girlfriend. A few days later Jessie stops by Sarah's job and takes her to a secluded spot. He wants to talk to Sarah about their relationship. Sarah tells Jessie she had to move on because she never heard from him. Sarah and Jessie talk for a long time and decide to give it another go. Sarah does not want to hurt Axel, but she follows her heart.

We never find out why Jessie left town or why he didn't tell Sarah. Many of the scenes in the movie leave the audience grasping at straws. Paul Kelman plays the role of Jessie.

Answer: She doesn't die.

Sarah is the center of the love triangle between Jessie and Axel. Sarah, along with Jessie, are the only two that leave the mine alive. While they are in the mine, Sarah witnesses the death of her best friend, Pam. The killer chases Jessie and Sarah through the mines. The killer is then suddenly apparently killed by a cave-in. The Chief arrives to help Sarah and Jessie. The Chief tells them about Axel seeing his dad killed by Harry Warden. They find out Axel is alive. Sarah wants to confront Axel, but she is unable to see his face. The only visible parts of Axel are his legs, seen through a hole in the cave-in. He is walking backwards to leave the mine. He swears his revenge on everyone. This is how the movie ends.

Lori Hallier plays the role of Sarah. Lori was born in 1959. She is originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Lori has an extensive resume for television. She has guest starred on two of my favorite television programs, "Dukes of Hazzard" and "Friday the 13th, The Series". In my opinion, Sarah seems to enjoy the attention coming from both Axel and Jessie too much. In one scene she actually confirms it to Patty.

Axel does see Harry kill his dad. It is never said whether his mom is alive or dead. Axel's dad is one of the two supervisors who left his post to go to the Valentine's Day Dance. After Harry is released from the hospital, he gets his revenge on Axel's dad and the other supervisor. Axel is hidden under the bed while Harry kills his dad with a pick axe. This messes up Axel badly. So when he finds out that another dance is being planned, he takes up on Harry's promise and starts to kill all involved with the dance. He kills the first victim on February 12th. He places her heart in a Valentine's candy box along with a warning note.

Neil Affleck plays the part of Axel Palmer. He has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1999. He was nominated for his work on "The Simpsons". He didn't win the Emmy however. He has been involved with "Family Guy", one of my personal favorites. He is currently the director for "Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends". Another "My Bloody Valentine" actor, Keith Knight, also did some voice work for "Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends".

Answer: George Mihalka

According to IMBD this is George's second job as a director. His first was in 1980. Stephen Miller is the producer on the film. He has also produced episodes of "All in the Family". John Beaird is the writer on the film. He has also written the horror film "Happy Birthday to Me". Jack Van Evera plays Happy, the bartender. Jack is the brother to comedian, Billy Van Evera.

Answer: The Cage

The Cage is the hot spot in town. All the kids hang out there after work and on weekends. Happy is a former miner turned bartender. The first Valentine's Dance in twenty years has the whole town excited and talking. Happy is only too glad to tell the story of Harry Warden.

The kids think the story is just a myth. Happy tells them he was the one to pull Harry Warden out of the mine. He tells them the whole story of the incident that started the killings. It was 20 years ago and the town was having their annual Valentine's day dance.

There were six miners still in the mine when the supervisors decided to leave early. They failed to check the methane gas levels and there was an explosion. All the men are thought to be dead. Happy, as member of a search and rescue crew, found Harry Warden still alive.

He was living off the remains of the other five miners. Harry took his revenge on the supervisors. He swore if the town had another dance, he would return and make them pay. Everyone thinks Happy is a fool for believing in Harry Warden.

In an attempt to scare the kids, Happy breaks into the mine. He sets up an elaborate trick. He rigs a door so when it opens a dummy pops out with a pick axe. The dummy is dressed as a miner, Harry Warden of course. Happy tests the trick several times and it works. The last time he tests the trick, the real killer is there and kills Happy with the axe.

Answer: She takes a pick axe to the stomach.

Patty is the girlfriend of Hollis. She begs Hollis to take her and Sarah down to the mine. Sarah has just been in a fight with Jessie and Axel. Both of the guys are trying to get with Sarah. In order to try to cheer her up, Hollis agrees. While they are in the mine, Hollis is killed. Patty sees Hollis stumble out of the shadows and collapse. She becomes hysterical and tries to run to him, but Sarah sees the killer right behind Hollis. She stops Patty from running to Hollis' dead body. Patty will not calm down so Sarah slaps her across the face. This brings Patty to her senses and she hugs Sarah and starts to cry. Both girls then realize the killer is still coming and start to run. The killer disappears back into the mine. Jessie catches back up to the girls and attempts to lead them out of the mine. While they are walking towards the surface, the killer jumps out of the shadows. He kills Patty with a pick axe.


Cynthia Dale plays the role of Patty. I also felt Patty was way too hot for Hollis. Cynthia was born in 1961 in Canada. Though she has had a great many parts, the one I know her from is "Moonstruck".

Answer: laundromat

Madame Mabel's is the name of her shop. We see Mabel putting some of the fabric decorations in her machines to clean them. Howard decides to play a prank on Mabel and Mayor Hanniger. He runs at them from the social hall, he has a fake wound on his head dripping blood. He scares Mabel and the Mayor badly. Howard starts to laugh and then apologizes to Mabel. He has gotten the fake blood on her decorations. While Mabel cleans the decorations, the killer is watching her from outside. Mabel leaves the room for a beverage, she comes back in and sees a Valentine's candy box. She opens the box and sees the note inside. The note says she is next to die. The killer then enters the room and chases Mabel to the back. The killer slits Mabel's throat in the backroom and then puts her body in a dryer.

Patricia Hamilton plays the role of Mabel Osborn. She is the one who gets the town in the spirit for the dance. She also unfortunately is the one who brings the killer back to Valentines Bluff.

Answer: pick axe

In the beginning of the film, we see two people dressed as miners. The one miner starts to undress and is a female. She is starting to unzip the second miner but is stopped by him. The miner takes a pick axe and kills the woman. Her heart is the one in the box that Chief Newby and Mayor Hanniger open.

Her heart was the first of many warnings given tot he town people not to hold the Valentine's Day dance.

Answer: Valentine Bluffs

As the guys race into town to see who has to buy the beer, they pass the town sign. The sign reads "Welcome To Valentine Bluffs, The Little Town With The Big Heart". There is also a big bright pink neon heart on the sign. The town is where Harry Warden killed 20 years ago.

It now is going through the same thing only there are more killings this time. "My Bloody Valentine" is made a year after "Friday the 13th". The movie made so much money that a whole slew of knock offs came out. "Friday" was released in 1980 and "My Bloody Valentine" was released in 1981.
