Released in 1982, 'A Night to Remember' reached number five in the UK singles chart. This was arguably Shalamar's finest period with three UK top ten singles in that year.
2. 'Town Called Malice' and 'Beat Surrender' were both huge hits for The Jam in 1982. But who was their bass player?

1982 saw The Jam release their final music, before splitting up in December.

Yazoo hit the dizzy heights of number two in the UK singles chart in 1982 with their debut single 'Only You'.
It was written by Vince Clarke, who had left electronic band Depeche Mode the previous year. Singer Alison Moyet would later have numerous solo hits including the hit songs, 'Love Resurrection', 'Is This Love?' and 'That Ole Devil Called Love' originally recorded by Billie Holiday.
