"Surfin' Safari" was the first album released by The Beach Boys on Capitol Records. The official date of release was October 3, 1961. "Surfin USA" followed in 1963. Al Jardine left the band prior to the release of "Surfin' Safari" and was replaced David Marks until he rejoined the band in 1963. Marks is featured on the cover of the "Surfin' Safari" album.

Although "Surfin' Safari" remained on the charts for 37 weeks, it only reached Number 32. Vee-Jay Records released "Introducing the Beatles" ten days before their American album debut on Capitol records, "Meet The Beatles". Capitol Records lists the release date for "Meet The Beatles!" as January 20, 1964.

Their "Wild Honey" LP was also released the same year.
"Pet Sounds" was issued on May 16, 1966. "Summer Days (and Summer Nights)" and "Beach Boys Party" were both 1965 releases.

Dennis began another album titled "Bambu" the following year but despite working on it for two years it remained unreleased when he passed away. "Pacific Ocean Blue" was also the first solo effort of any of the members of The Beach Boys.

It was not released in the US until April, 1964. "Please Please Me" followed on January 11, 1963, in the UK and was released February 7th of the same year in the US.

Dennis was the only member of the group who actually surfed and was buried at sea off the California shore. Carl Wilson was the youngest of the Wilson family and passed away in 1998.

He was survived by his brother, Brian, and his wife Gina, Dean Martin's daughter. George Harrison passed three years later.

His ashes were scattered in the Ganges River.
