Answer: Beyond the Sea

Bobby Darin was left with a weakened heart, after a childhood encounter with Rheumatic Fever. His whole approach to life after that was hurried, as if he were trying to cram an entire lifetime into a few years, because of his stated fear that he would die young. Sadly he did do exactly that, dying at the age of 37 while receiving surgery for a faulty heart valve. Darin also experienced the shock of learning, in adulthood, that his elder sister was really his mother.
"Beyond the Sea" was written by Charles Trenet and Jack Lawrence.
