Question 1 of 10
1. I'm still in bed, but it's the crossroads of my first questions and I don't want to get up. Which Grammy-winning rap group rhymed the lyrics:
"Wake up, wake up, wake up it's the first of the month
To get up, get up, get up so cash your checks and get up"?
Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. I have a raging headache as this group bids me "Wake Up!" with funky beats and lyrics that instruct:
"Whadda I gotta do, whadda I gotta do to wake ya up, to shake ya up, to break the structure up?"
Their structure broke up for a while and most of the group members became Audioslave for roughly six years before coming back together to tour in 2007.
Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. I was supposed to go on a 500-mile hike later, so its time to get inspired to get out of bed by this group with lyrics like:
"When I wake up
Yea I know I'm going to be
I'm going to be that man who wakes up next to you"
I don't think I would quite hike 500 miles though.
Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Too bad my name isn't Susie, because she has a song dedicated to getting her out of bed, bidding her:
"Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie
Well I told your mama that you'd be in by ten
Well Susie baby looks like we goofed again"
(Apparently these brothers fell asleep with Susie at the movies and she missed curfew.)
Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. It's one of those mornings my clock was rudely "tick-tocking" and a little hair of the dog might have proved helpful. This artist apparently agrees with me with lyrics like:
"Wake up in the morning
Feeling like P Diddy
Before I leave brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack."
Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Feeling a bit nostalgic for the sweet days of my youth as I woke up singing:
"Every morning there's a halo hangin' from the corner of my girlfriend's four post bed
I know it's not mine but I'll see if I can use it for the weekend or a one-night stand"
Not so much for ever having had a 'girlfriend,' but more so for the music video to this get-up gem by which artist?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Ever had one of those mornings go down where you wake up craving Chinese food? I do sometimes, laying in bed singing:
"Wake up (wake up)
Grab a brush and put a little makeup
Hide the scars to fade away the shake up
Why'd you leave the keys up on the table."
Which band penned those lines?
Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Another day in my life of not wanting to get out of bed (as usual), despite the cheery tune with the lyrics:
"Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late"
Story of my life, as sang by whom?
Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. This particular song is something I tell my husband NOT to do...(kiss me quietly honey, just let me sleep). But I'd be remiss to leave out lyrics like:
"Wake me up before you go-go
'Cos I'm not planning on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight."
With which band would I be unhappy?
Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. I probably have a bit in common with the last artist...you try and wake me up before I want to wake up and I might just smack you around a bit. Lyrics like:
"Too much light in this window, don't wake me up
Only coffee no sugar, inside my cup
If I wake and your here still, give me a kiss
I was in your dreaming, about your lips"
are right up my alley, as they are for this artist.
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I'm still in bed, but it's the crossroads of my first questions and I don't want to get up. Which Grammy-winning rap group rhymed the lyrics: "Wake up, wake up, wake up it's the first of the month To get up, get up, get up so cash your checks and get up"?

Answer: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

The Bone Thugs' song, "1st of the Month," was part of their 1995 album, "E. 1999 Eternal." The music video featured the group waking people up via a crystal ball as they move about in the midst of a creepy mansion. The song earned a Grammy nomination and refers to the first day of the month when Welfare checks are paid.
2. I have a raging headache as this group bids me "Wake Up!" with funky beats and lyrics that instruct: "Whadda I gotta do, whadda I gotta do to wake ya up, to shake ya up, to break the structure up?" Their structure broke up for a while and most of the group members became Audioslave for roughly six years before coming back together to tour in 2007.

Answer: Rage Against the Machine

Rage Against the Machine's "Wake Up!" was featured in the soundtrack to the 1999 movie "The Matrix". To my knowledge, there was not a music video done to this but there were quite a few nice user created tribute videos using this music on Youtube.
3. I was supposed to go on a 500-mile hike later, so its time to get inspired to get out of bed by this group with lyrics like: "When I wake up Yea I know I'm going to be I'm going to be that man who wakes up next to you" I don't think I would quite hike 500 miles though.

Answer: The Proclaimers

"I Would Walk 500 Miles," was featured in the 1993 film "Benny & Joon." The music video included the somewhat dorky twins singing the song interspersed with video clips from the movie (which starred the fantastic Johnny Depp).
4. Too bad my name isn't Susie, because she has a song dedicated to getting her out of bed, bidding her: "Wake up little Susie Wake up little Susie Well I told your mama that you'd be in by ten Well Susie baby looks like we goofed again" (Apparently these brothers fell asleep with Susie at the movies and she missed curfew.)

Answer: Everly Brothers

"Wake Up Little Susie" was recorded in 1957 by the Everly Brothers. The song reached number one on the Billboard Pop charts for that year. The Everly Brothers were among the first ten acts inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
5. It's one of those mornings my clock was rudely "tick-tocking" and a little hair of the dog might have proved helpful. This artist apparently agrees with me with lyrics like: "Wake up in the morning Feeling like P Diddy Before I leave brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack."

Answer: Kesha

"Tik Tok" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in October 2009, and steadily climbed to number one by the start of 2010. The music video for the song features the artist waking up and falling asleep in a bath tub. In between is a blur of glitter and debauchery that seems like good fun.
6. Feeling a bit nostalgic for the sweet days of my youth as I woke up singing: "Every morning there's a halo hangin' from the corner of my girlfriend's four post bed I know it's not mine but I'll see if I can use it for the weekend or a one-night stand" Not so much for ever having had a 'girlfriend,' but more so for the music video to this get-up gem by which artist?

Answer: Sugar Ray

"Every Morning" by Sugar Ray, peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock charts in 1999. The music video gave me cause for nostalgia as it features a party in the middle of a skating rink. I spent many an hour lapping a rink to the tunes of the 80s and 90s.
7. Ever had one of those mornings go down where you wake up craving Chinese food? I do sometimes, laying in bed singing: "Wake up (wake up) Grab a brush and put a little makeup Hide the scars to fade away the shake up Why'd you leave the keys up on the table." Which band penned those lines?

Answer: System of a Down

"Chop Suey" by System of a Down was a brilliant piece of rock. Unfortunately, it debuted on the charts in August 2001. Roughly a month later, the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States nixed the single's success as some stations refused to play the song due to its dark, violent tone.

It was added to the list of songs that were restricted from the airwaves at that time period as the country struggled to recover.
8. Another day in my life of not wanting to get out of bed (as usual), despite the cheery tune with the lyrics: "Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged a comb across my head Found my way downstairs and drank a cup And looking up, I noticed I was late" Story of my life, as sang by whom?

Answer: The Beatles

"A Day in the Life" was featured on The Beatles 1967 album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." The song was co-written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, allegedly inspired by things they had read in the newspaper. The song has been considered one of the greatest songs The Beatles ever recorded.
9. This particular song is something I tell my husband NOT to do...(kiss me quietly honey, just let me sleep). But I'd be remiss to leave out lyrics like: "Wake me up before you go-go 'Cos I'm not planning on going solo Wake me up before you go-go Take me dancing tonight." With which band would I be unhappy?

Answer: Wham!

"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," was released in 1984 and was Wham's first number one UK hit. The music video featured the band dancing around on a stage with the members and audience entirely dressed in white. George Micheal's white t-shirt said "Choose Life" and it was meant as a statement against suicide.
10. I probably have a bit in common with the last artist...you try and wake me up before I want to wake up and I might just smack you around a bit. Lyrics like: "Too much light in this window, don't wake me up Only coffee no sugar, inside my cup If I wake and your here still, give me a kiss I was in your dreaming, about your lips" are right up my alley, as they are for this artist.

Answer: Chris Brown

Released by Chris Brown as part of his 2012 album, "Fortune," the song "Don't Wake Me Up" has reached the Billboard Top 100's top ten. The music video for the song features Chris Brown chasing a beautiful woman through three different doors into various dream worlds.
