2. Musical instruments that are upright, grand, electronic and digital, refer to types of _____________.

Answer: pianos

There are several types of pianos. First, an upright piano is a standard size piano and feasible to have and use in a home. Its strings are vertical but its parts can wear out sooner than the grand piano's structures. Next, the grand piano is larger and wider than the standard piano, with horizontal keys.

The grand piano produces a richer sound and is preferred for use in concerts. The electronic piano does not use strings or hammers and simulates the sound of a standard piano. The sounds are enhanced by attached speakers and amplifiers. Finally, the digital piano is similar to the electronic piano in that it does not have strings or hammers. It uses digital technology to resemble precisely the audio sound of each piano note.

It is attached to an amplifier and speaker. It can also come with a digital arrangement and built in amplifiers and speakers. An advantage of a digital piano is that a person can practice quietly with headphones without releasing the sound of the keys.

A digital piano can also come with keys and features that resemble a standard piano.

10. In the lovely old music hall song "Goodbye Little Yellow Bird", which two characters shared a doomed love?

Answer: A handsome yellow bird and a sparrow

Written by Clarence Murphy and William Hargreave in 1903, "Goodbye Little Yellow Bird" tells the sad tale of a handsome yellow bird that falls in love with a little sparrow that lands on his window sill one cold winter's day. He instantly falls in love with the little hen and invites her to share his cage and be his mate, but alas, she looks at his gilded cage, his "...his castle, with its ribbon and its tassle" and answers "I'd rather brave the cold on a leafless tree, than a prisoner be, in a cage of gold".

It's a heartbreaking tale indeed and done to perfection by skilled pathos-dripping music hall sopranos.
