Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which of these books is God's name NEVER mentioned?

Answer: Esther

Interesting, huh?
2. Who wrote the vast majority of the New Testament books?

Answer: Paul

Actually, they aren't books, but epistles, or letters.
3. Who is credited with writing the Book of Revelation?

Answer: John

Perhaps the most interpretively challenging book in the Bible, the study of which is part of Eschatology, or, 'study of the end times.'
4. Who was victorious at Jericho?

Answer: Joshua

Joshua was such a great leader that his men supported him even when his battle plan for Jericho defied all conventional military strategy.
5. What are the last words attributed to Jesus on the cross in the Gospel of Mark (New International Version)?

Answer: 'My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?'

Actually, He said (in Aramaic), 'Eloi, Eloi. La' ma sabachthani?' (Mark 15:34). The correct answer is the translation of that line.
6. In which book is 'The Day of the Lord' explicitly mentioned most frequently (New International Version)?

Answer: Joel

It is explicitly mentioned 5 times in the tiny book of Joel, which happens to have repentance as its theme. Coincidence? I don't think so!
7. How did Elijah die?

Answer: He didn't

He was one of only two characters in the Bible not to die. He was taken up in a whirlwind in II Kings 2:11.
8. Who cut Samson's hair?

Answer: An unknown man

Judges 16:19 says, 'She made him sleep upon her knees; and she called a man, and had him shave off the seven locks of his head.'
9. Who did Jesus claim was greater than all other men?

Answer: John

That was quite a compliment coming from One who was flawless!
10. What was Sarah's name before it became Sarah?

Answer: Sarai
