1.3 "The Dog" Trivia Quiz

Travis was trying to keep Chris calm, but Chris (as most young people) had adjusted. He wasn't where Tobias was, but he knew things might not ever get better. He felt the wall inside the shop and realized it was getting hot. Then, the wall started to smoke.

They had no choice but to run for their lives. The six of them exited the barber shop and saw apocalyptic chaos on the streets. Both living and undead people were killing. Rioters did get in the shop after Daniel opened the door, but not before they were forced to leave.

Maddie wanted to be the top hat, Alicia the car, and Nick the shoe. They were still waiting on Travis to return so they could leave for the desert to the east. That would be the Mojave Desert. It's not a huge one, but does go all the way into Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.

Despite being injured, she and the others made it to Travis' truck. Liza said she needed a doctor, but when they got the hospital, chaos reigned there as well. Daniel decided they'd all just go to Travis' house, and on the way there, they watched as the electrical grid failed in Los Angeles.

He found a dog, hence the episode title. After he let the dog inside, it began barking at an "infected" person outside. It reminded me of dogs barking at terminators in those movies. Nick, Maddie, and Alicia decided to use their back yard to inspect their neighbors' home.

He wanted a shotgun, and he found it. He had Maddie look for shells, and she found some. While there, Alicia saw someone inside their house. They watched and listened, as one of the undead attacked the dog. It had been barking and defending the house against the infected man, but did not know to stay far enough away from it. The man turned out to be Peter Dawson.

Travis returned and found Peter inside his house, eating the dog Nick had let inside earlier. Peter got up and attacked Travis. Maddie ran home with the shotgun and Daniel took it from her. Travis was trying to talk to Peter instead of trying to kill him. Travis was still in denial. Daniel did what had to be done, and saved Travis' life.

I understand a reluctance to accept an entirely new reality, but after days of seeing what they had, I did not understand the lack of self-preservation.

They had been discussing Griselda's foot, and the implications of what was to come. A crushed foot with dying tissues would cause an infection. The infection would most likely spread to deadly levels. Travis refused to accept that, or else he was just used to placating people. So, Liza said that quote to him.

He responded sarcastically he was relieved, he thought it would awkward having two wives in the house.

Maddie said, "don't make Travis do it, it'd break him". Liza nodded in agreement and walked away.

Answer: Military arrived

They were in the cars driving away, when Maddie spotted Patrick Tran returning home. She got out of her car, stopping their journey. She tried to warn Patrick about Susan, but he wouldn't listen. The military arrived right then and no one was leaving their community unless they said to go. Martial law had arrived.

Answer: Daniel

Daniel had just witnessed Travis stop Maddie from killing a dead Susan Tran. He saw that as weak, and I agree. Ofelia wanted to travel with Travis and Maddie, but Daniel knew they were too weak to be aligned with, at least to this point. He wanted to stay, let them all go, and then take care of things himself. Ofelia told him that these were good people, and the quote was his response.

Mercedes Mason played Ofelia Salazar. This is the type of quote we might hear from Carl Grimes, in later seasons of "The Walking Dead".
