Answer: The Persian Gulf War

Sayid was featured in this episode's flashbacks and they went into detail with his years as an officer with the Iraqi Republican Guard. In the first flashback, events from The Gulf War, where Iraq invaded Kuwait, were detailed and Sayid was in them. Several soldiers busted into the place where Sayid and other Iraqi Republican Guard members were and took them into custody.

When they asked Sayid who was in charge, Sayid remarked how there was no commanding officer.

Answer: Ana Lucia Cortez

Sayid was bathing right by the beach and Ana Lucia came up to him to ask him where Jack was. Sayid asked her where Jack was and, in the next scene, they wandered through the jungle. Ana Lucia pointed a mysterious person out to Sayid and asked him who it was but Sayid told her to go back to the beach and not tell anyone what she saw.

Answer: Danielle Rousseau

Sayid went up to the mysterious figure Ana pointed out to him and noticed it was Danielle Rousseau. Sayid asked her what she wanted and she claimed she was looking for him. Sayid reminded her how, the last time they interacted, she warned him The Others were coming but they did not. Danielle instructed Sayid to come with her, as she was taking him to a certain place.

Answer: James "Sawyer" Ford

In Sawyer's first scene, he was seen sleeping but the sound of a frog started to annoy him. When the frog would not stop, Sawyer decided to wake up and look for the frog to try and find it. He asked Jin if he wanted to help him find the frog but Jin just ran off. As Sawyer went looking for the frog, he encountered Hurley.

Sawyer sat down to talk with Hurley and noticed how he was dipping his hands into ranch dressing and he informed Sawyer how it had a shelf life of seven years. As Sawyer peered into Hurley's ranch dressing, he noticed a jar of peanut butter that was part of the food for the group and he inquired as to why he would steal it. Hurley begged Sawyer not to tell anyone he stole it but, before Sawyer could respond, he heard the frog again and went to look for it.

Answer: Ben Linus

As Sayid and Rousseau walked through the jungle, he heard someone screaming for help so he started to run towards the scream. Danielle warned him not to go running to help the person and Sayid came upon someone trapped in a net. Rousseau advised Sayid against cutting down the net but Sayid did not listen.

The man introduced himself as Henry Gale (also known as Ben Linus) and he claimed to be from Minnesota. Sayid cut the rope to the net and released Ben and Ben started to run but Rousseau shot an arrow into his back and he fell.

Answer: Clancy Brown

Brown, born on January 5th, 1959 in Urbana, Ohio portrayed Kelvin Inman in this episode. Kelvin appeared in flashbacks where he spoke to Sayid while Sayid served in the Iraqi National Guard. For the first five seasons of the show, Brown appeared in two episodes of "Lost." He has also had guest starring appearances on the TV series', "Law & Order", "Star Trek: Enterprise", and "The Practice."

Answer: John Locke

Sayid took Ben Linus back to the hatch and saw that John Locke was in the hatch when he brought him there. He asked Locke to have him look at Ben and see if they can find out who he was. Ben awoke and asked Locke and Sayid to remove the arrow which was stuck in his right shoulder. Sayid assured him they would but first he had some questions for him. Jack came to the hatch and asked both Sayid and Locke what was going on, to which Sayid replied how Rousseau claimed Ben was a member of The Others.

Answer: Sayid Jarrah

Midway through the episode, Jack treated Ben and managed to remove the arrow from his shoulder as well as stop the bleeding. He and Sayid began to talk about Ben and how best to approach him. When they were talking, Jack was in a room and Sayid managed to close the door and lock Jack inside. Sayid mentioned to himself that he was doing what need to be done. Locke happened to be in the same room and it was the one which had a lock on it. Locke informed Jack how he changed the combination since The Others were fast approaching them and they were at war.

Answer: Charlie Pace

Sayid locked Ben into a room and tortured him into giving out more information about who he was and more on The Others. After he was done interrogating and torturing Ben, he went back to the beach and ran into Charlie. He spoke to Charlie about how The Others are dangerous and he emphasized the point by telling Charlie how it was The Others who hung him from a tree.

He reiterated to Charlie to never underestimate what lengths The Others would go to in harming people.
