After launching the attack on the Chinese carrier, one of Cheng's men accessed a closed circuit camera in the vicinity of the Open Cell facility, and Cheng spotted Jack Bauer. He told his men they had to leave and were taking Chloe O'Brian with them because "what's in her head is extremely valuable". O'Brian dropped to the ground as she was being pushed, and she grabbed a cell phone that was lying on the floor. Cheng spotted it however and tossed it back on the ground but not before O'Brian was able to start the voice recorder.

When Bauer and Kate Morgan arrived at the facility, Morgan spotted the phone. When she played the recording, Bauer heard Cheng's voice: "You're trying my patience, Miss O'Brian. Do not cause any more trouble than you're worth". Bauer knew the voice instantly; Cheng had been the one who tortured him for over a year and a half.

Answer: Boudreau had called the CIA station and asked for the transmitter code.

Erik Ritter told CIA analyst Gavin Leonard (Kiefer Sutherland's real-life step-son-in-law) to track Cheng's vehicle, but the closed circuit cameras around the Open Cell facility had been scrambled for a two mile radius for several minutes. As Leonard was informing Jack Bauer of the situation, Ritter told Bauer that the CIA team had found the tablet and that it indicated that the Russians had been tracking Bauer via the transmitter code. Leonard told Bauer that only the CIA station and the White House had access to know the encrypted transmitter code.

When Bauer asked why the White House knew the code, Leonard replied that Mark Boudreau had requested it. Bauer immediately took off for the White House with Kate Morgan.

Answer: She smashed the men around with a pipe and jumped from the truck.

Cheng, his men and Chloe O'Brian were in the back of a truck/lorry. We realized that Cheng was in cahoots with the Russians (or at least, the Russian deputy minister) when Cheng talked with the deputy minister on the phone. As Cheng was having one of his men try to add the truck to the manifest for the port, O'Brian grabbed a pipe, smacked the men about with it and jumped from the truck.

She rolled down an embankment into a wooded area and was knocked out. Cheng's men were hunting for her when a convoy of military vehicles approached and told Cheng to move his truck.

He called off the search, leaving O'Brian in the forest.

Answer: Gain entry to the Russian deputy minister's home

Jack Bauer wanted to use Mark Boudreau to get access to the Russian deputy minister in the hopes that the minister would lead him to Cheng. Bauer fitted Boudreau with a camera hidden in a U.S. flag pin and told Boudreau to stand in front of the security system so that the CIA could determine which system it was in order to jam it. Boudreau did as he was told but when Bauer and Kate Morgan attacked the compound, the deputy minister and Boudreau tussled and fell through a glass door.

The Russian deputy minister ended up with a large shard of glass in his neck, and he died before Bauer was able to get any information from him.

Answer: Jiao Sim was killed.

Audrey Boudreau told her father, President Heller, that she wanted to talk with a contact she had at the Chinese embassy in London. She wanted to give the evidence about the override device to Jiao Sim in the hopes that Jiao could have her father present it to the Chinese president. Audrey and two secret service agents met with Jiao Sim at a London park. Somehow, Cheng knew about the meeting and had a sniper on site.

The sniper shot Jiao Sim in the neck and took out the two agents. Audrey then received a call from Cheng who told her to sit on the bench and stay there, or the sniper would kill her too.

Answer: Okinawa, Japan

In response to the U.S. blowing up one of their carriers, the Chinese were heading to attack the U.S. base in Okinawa, Japan. The amphibious group had breached the twelve mile perimeter around Okinawa, and President Heller gave permission for the U.S. Forces to engage them, but before the order was transmitted, Jack Bauer called in with proof that Cheng was still alive.

The Chinese president agreed to turn the ships around after seeing the video feed of Cheng.

Answer: Kate Morgan

After breaking into the Russian deputy minister's home, Jack Bauer used the dead deputy minister's fingerprint to access his phone. He found e-mails indicating that Cheng was leaving by sea that evening, but then a text message came in with a sniper's target picture of Audrey Boudreau sitting on a park bench.

Then the phone rang, and when Bauer answered it, Cheng told him that as soon as he (Cheng) was safely away, he would set Audrey free. Bauer wanted to go after Audrey, but Kate Morgan reminded him that the President had ordered him to go after Cheng, so Morgan agreed to go rescue Audrey.

Answer: Audrey Boudreau was dead.

Kate Morgan was successful in killing the sniper who had pinned Audrey Boudreau down on the park bench, but as they were walking away, another shooter appeared and shots rang out. Audrey was hit and died at the scene. For reasons that only make sense on "24", Morgan then called Bauer, while he was in the midst of a dangerous operation, to give him the news that, "We lost Audrey". Bauer looked distraught; he pulled out his handgun and appeared to be considering suicide, but then rage took hold of him. Bad news for the bad guys.

Answer: Decapitated him

Jack Bauer called into the CIA station where the President was and told the CIA staff to initiate facial recognition scanning on the badly-beaten Cheng. Bauer ordered Cheng to "tell them who you are" and then held a sword under Cheng's chin to convince him to do so. CIA agent Gavin Leonard confirmed the facial and voice recognition.

As soon as the video feed was terminated, Bauer told him, "This is for Audrey..." and sliced Cheng's head off.

Answer: To free Chloe O'Brian

After the operation on the ship to stop Cheng, Jack Bauer and Belcheck ran back to the communication shack were Chloe O'Brian had been working, but she wasn't there, and there were signs of a struggle. Bauer's phone rang, and we only heard his side of the conversation: "When?", "Where?", "I'll be there. Just set it up". Several hours later, Bauer and Belcheck arrived at an abandoned site outside of London where a helicopter had landed.

The exchange took place, with Bauer and O'Brian briefly meeting midway. Bauer told O'Brian that she was right when she said that she was his best fried. Aw! At least the Russians were able to get O'Brian to take off that ghastly make-up.
