Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where is the main character working in the series opening scene?

Answer: Cinnabon

Actor Bob Odenkirk is barely recognizable in a mustache, glasses and paper hat as he performs the menial tasks of a fast food worker. Fans familiar with "Breaking Bad" will know that character development moves rather slowly in Vince Gilligan's world.
2. When an impatient judge in a packed courtroom sends a bailiff to find the defendants' lawyer, where is he located?

Answer: Bathroom

The defense attorney is practicing his jury argument in front of a row of bathroom urinals. Inasmuch as his clients go to jail, it did little good.
3. In the series premier episode, the character Saul Goodman does not yet exist. What is the name of the flamboyant lawyer character?

Answer: James McGill

The series takes place six years before we meet the character Saul Goodman in "Breaking Bad". In the first episode Jimmy is a struggling lawyer trying to do the right thing most of the time.
4. How much is James paid by the Public Defenders Office for representing three young defendants in a criminal trespass jury trial?

Answer: $700

James vainly argues with the court clerk that he should be paid $700 each for the three clients. To make matters worse he doesn't have money to pay the parking attendant who makes him go back and get more stamps on his parking ticket stub.
5. James sublets office space in what type of business establishment?

Answer: Nail salon

James' office is beyond terrible and he even has difficulty opening the warped door. Later, he meets potential clients in a coffee shop with the explanation that his office has been recently painted.
6. What does James do with a $26,000 check he receives in the mail?

Answer: Tears it up

For a man that relies on parking lot stamps to get his vehicle out of the lot, James surprisingly tears up a check payable to him. His reasons are revealed later to be an effort to help a sick friend.
7. What is Chuck?

Answer: A lawyer

Veteran actor Michael McKean portrays Chuck, an ill attorney on sabbatical from a big law firm. Many will recognize McKean as Lenny Kosnowski from the 1970s show "Laverne and Shirley".
8. After crashing a meeting at a big law firm, upon which inanimate object does James vent his anger?

Answer: Trash can

James repeatedly kicks a small metal waste basket severely denting it. He later shares a joint with an attractive female law firm employee.
9. While driving his car James hits a skateboarder, who he discovers is one of two con men who purposely run into cars and then attempt to extort money from the drivers. Instead of turning the young men into the police, James hires them to run into a woman whose husband is a potential client. What criminal charge is the woman's husband facing?

Answer: Embezzlement

James meets his potential clients at a coffee shop because his private office is so pathetic. The government employee may have stolen well over a million dollars and James can see a big potential fee.
10. In the closing scene James is pounding on the door of a suburban home. What is the first thing he sees when the door is finally opened?

Answer: Pistol

The not-too-intelligent skateboarders fake an accident with the wrong car which was driven by a little old lady. She fails to stop so the boys chase her to the home of her grandson where they curse her and call her names. The grandson invites the two hucksters into the home to resolve the situation. Something about the demeanor of the grandson indicates that the boys are in some big trouble.
