Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "The Christmas Invasion", the first full episode featuring the tenth Doctor, what species of alien does the doctor defeat?

Answer: Sycorax

The Sycorax come to Earth on a spaceship that looks much like a piece of their planet. The Doctor gives their leader a warning before defeating him, stating "No second chances, that's the kind of man I am." The Macra are featured in "Gridlock", they appear to be large crabs.

The Macra feed off of gasses that are poisonous to humans, such as exhaust fumes. The Sontarans are featured in "The Sontaran Strategem" and "The Poisonous Sky". They are known as the universe's best warriors. The Judoon are featured in "Smith and Jones" and "The Stolen Earth".

They are "Police for hire" or "Universal thugs".
2. In the episode "Tooth and Claw" we discover this person founded Torchwood Institute after an experience with the beloved Doctor.

Answer: Queen Victoria

After the Doctor saves Queen Victoria from a lupine wavelength haemovariform, or werewolf, she founds Torchwood Institute. What's with the name, you may ask? You see, the Scottish house this encounter occurred in was the Torchwood House. Her Majesty, Queen Victoria, formed Torchwood to protect the British Empire from aliens and the Doctor himself.
3. In "The Impossible Planet", what did "The Beast" call the Doctor?

Answer: The killer of his own kind

The tenth doctor has been referred to as "The Lonely Angel" and "The Lonely God" at some point during his life. "The Beast", or Satan, refers to him as "The killer of his own kind," during his taunting speech in the dark.
4. What are the last and extremely emotional words the Doctor says to Rose, before the walls between their worlds close "forever"?

Answer: Rose Tyler...

The last few lines the Doctor says to his true love are as follows.
Rose: "I love you!"
Doctor: "Well, I guess, since it's the last chance I have to say it, Rose Tyler..."

It is quite obvious to all of the viewers the next words were meant to be "I love you," but the supernova burnt up before he could say them aloud. The Doctor is reduced to tears when he realizes he can never tell her.
5. In "Gridlock", the Face of Boe reveals his last piece of wisdom to the Doctor. What does he say?

Answer: You are not alone

Martha incorrectly interprets this to mean that the Doctor has her, therefore he is not alone. At this point the Doctor reveals to Martha that he is thought to be the last of his kind, and the Face of Boe meant there is another time lord. This phrase comes in to play in "Utopia". Professor YANA, You Are Not Alone. Do you see the connection?
6. Why does the Doctor run from the Family of Blood?

Answer: He is being kind

In the words of the "Son", "He never raised his voice. That was the worst thing, the fury of the Time Lord, and then we discovered why. Why this Doctor who had fought gods and demons, why he had run away from us and hidden. He was being kind. He wrapped my father in unbreakable chains forged in the heart of a dwarf star.

He tripped my mother into the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy, to be imprisoned there, forever. He still visits my sister, once a year, every year. I wonder if one day he might forgive her, but there she is. Can you see? He trapped her inside a mirror. Every mirror. If ever you look at your reflection and see something move behind you, just for a second, that's her. That's always her.

As for me I was suspended in time and the Doctor put me to work standing over the fields of England, as their protector. We wanted to live forever, so the Doctor made sure that we did."
7. In "The Doctor's Daughter," what is the name of, you guessed it, the Doctor's daughter?

Answer: Jenny

When the Doctor and Donna arrive on a new planet, the Doctor is taken and the soldiers make a clone of him. The clone is a girl, and therefore "The Doctor's daughter". Because of her handsome father's time lord genes, Jenny has two hearts and, unknown to her father, the power of regeneration. Jenny gives her life to protect her father, and, thinking his new daughter dead, the Doctor leaves her on her home planet.

After the Doctor and Donna leave, Jenny regenerates and vows to travel the universe, fight bad guys, and run.
8. In "Silence in the Library" the Doctor meets Professor River Song. What does she whisper in the Doctor's ear to gain his trust?

Answer: His name

She whispers his name, his real name. The Doctor reveals later in the episode that there is only one time he could tell her his real name. There is much speculation as to when he could reveal his name. It is widely believed that he is referring to when he gets married, though it is also believed to mean at his death.
9. In "The Journey's End" the Doctor and Donna have a bio-metacrisis. There has never been a time lord/human bio-metacrisis before. What is the reason for this?

Answer: There can't be

When the Doctor asks Donna if she knows why, she simply states, "Because there can't be." A human's brain is simply not large enough to support the time lord intellect. The Doctor seems surprised that Donna lasted as long as she did, and he must remove her memory as quickly as possible to keep her brain from frying.

The pair shares a tearful farewell as Donna mentions that she would have stayed with the Doctor for the rest of her life, "The DoctorDonna". When the Doctor takes Donna home he reminds Donna's family that if she ever remembers, even for a moment, she will die.
10. In "The End of Time: Part Two" the tenth Doctor's life comes to an end, and he must regenerate. (Much to my objections!) Who causes the tenth Doctor's death?

Answer: Wilfred

"Your song will end soon." "Your song is endin' sir. He will knock four times." So many prophesies and plot twists regarding the Doctor's death. Will the Master kill him? Will Rasillon kill him? Russel T. Davies did an excellent job writing the last episode. Everyone, including the Doctor, is surprised that he makes it through his tumble from the plane, the fall of Gallifrey, and the death of the other time lords. And then, four knocks! Wilfred locked himself in the Vinvocchi glass case, and the noble Doctor sacrifices himself to save Wilfred.

But of course not before giving a long, heart breaking, goodbye speech.
