Having "learned to sign", kept "in contact with his teachers", and volunteered at Reece's school, Roger certainly seemed to have the upper hand. Moreover Roger's self-employment and flexible hours seemed to cast Peter in a bad light, as he often needed help due to his demanding job.

After flirting for a while, Susan and Carter finally kissed in this episode. While up on the roof of the hospital, the pair chatted and drank coffee, before finally puckering up, bringing an end to the tension created by several episodes of beating around the bush.

Whilst on the stand she told the court that Peter was "completely devoted to Reece", and had "always focused on" what was "best for him."
