Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. On Wednesdays, what does Elizabeth generally cook?

Answer: hamburgers

Auntie V and Mary were preparing quiche lorraine on a Wednesday night. However, Wednesdays were generally Elizabeth's night to cook, and she usually made hamburgers. Tommy said that was the only thing Elizabeth knew how to cook.
2. Who was caught taking a bath when some prospective buyers toured the Bradford home?

Answer: Nancy

Elizabeth went to warn Nancy that the family would have visitors in ten minutes, but Nancy kept yelling at Elizabeth to leave her alone. Elizabeth gave Nancy what she wanted and left without telling Nancy about the buyers. One of the band members went into the bathroom and saw Nancy who, luckily, was covered in bubbles.
3. What does David tell Auntie V that Nicholas had broken?

Answer: Wheel off wagon

David and Auntie V were sitting at the kitchen table, David going through old objects and Auntie V going through old photos. David mentioned that Auntie V had sent David the wagon. Auntie V remembered, and added that she was living in New York at the time. David then mentioned that the wagon had gone on to be used by Tommy and then Nicholas, who broke a wheel off the wagon.
4. What object did someone NOT claim was broken/not working in this episode?

Answer: dining room chandelier

Joanie and Susan broke the garbage disposal, which David fixes. Tom mentions the furnace didn't work well and that the water pipes didn't quite work perfectly either. Tom also mentioned that the second step on the staircase creaked.
5. Who do we see swimming in the pool of the new house?

Answer: Elizabeth and Tommy

Elizabeth and Tommy swam in the pool while Nancy sunbathed. Susan had brought her tennis racket (as per Auntie V's instructions) and was most likely off playing tennis. Nicholas had been lost in the house and was on his way to go swimming.
6. How many buses did Nicholas tell his friend he'd have to take to get to his friend's house?

Answer: 3

Nicholas was on the phone while the family was trying to pack. Nicholas claimed he'd have to take 3 buses, with 2 changes, in order to get to his friend's house. And by the time he'd get there, Nicholas would have to turn around and go home so he wouldn't be late to dinner.

Vivian tried to tell Nicholas he'd make new friends, but Nicholas didn't believe they'd be as good as his old friends.
7. How was Vivian going to 'gift' the new house to Tom and Abby?

Answer: Pay the down payment, they get the rest of the money as a personal loan

Tom and Abby kept saying they couldn't accept such a generous gift. Vivian then said she'd put up the money for a substantial down payment and Tom and Abby would repay the rest of it to her, from a personal loan that was under terms favorable to them.
8. How did Vivian's husband get her to come back to him?

Answer: He fired her

Vivian's husband showed up on moving day. When she confronted him with her belief that he loved his cars more than her, he said he had sold them all. Then he said he had ought the cruise line she worked for and fired her, so she wouldn't be able to go on the cruise - she'd have to go home with him.

Nancy was upset when she found out she wouldn't be going on the cruise because she was so embarrassed about having gone out with a guy who had a fiancee. Vivian tried to comfort her by saying that she'd been through the same situation many times. This didn't comfort Nancy - she yelled at Vivian saying they were talking about [Nancy] not Vivian.

Nancy was still upset when the family started realising that they didn't want to move. Abby ended up comforting Nancy by saying she [Nancy] would get through it.
9. What was wrong with Morgan Ames?

Answer: he was engaged

Morgan was dropping off Nancy when he finally admitted that he was engaged. He claimed his fiancee had been out of town for a month and didn't think his relationship with Nancy would lead anywhere.

Nancy was (of course) upset and asked Vivian if they could leave for their cruise immediately, as she was so humiliated.
10. Who was the first person to pipe up to the rest of the family (as opposed to telling only one person) and say they didn't want to move?

Answer: Abby

When Vivian asked David why he wasn't as excited as everyone else about the move, he said he only felt that way for purely selfish reasons. When he went back to where everyone lived, he was going back home. but once they moved, it wouldn't be the same.

Nicholas told his friend on the phone (while Vivian overheard) that it wasn't his idea to move.

Tom and Abby said they thought the house knew the family was moving.

Nancy said that Abby and Vivian had fixed it so home wasn't where it used to be - but didn't specifically say she wanted to move.

However, once everyone was in the living room while the last boxes were being put on the truck, Abby was blamed as the reason everyone was moving. Abby then piped up and said she never said she wanted to move - the house was a part of the family and she liked that. That's when the rest of the family started admitting to everyone else that they didn't want to move either.

Vivian and her husband then worked things out so the Bradfords wouldn't move, although what they did with the 'new' house that Vivian bought was never revealed.
