Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. During Lisa's slumber party, the girls play a game in which they drop which of the following into a bowl of water?

Answer: Hot wax

While watching Eye on Springfield's coverage (part seven!) of the bikini, Homer asks Bart, who happens to be passing by, why he's not in bed at such an hour. As it turns out, he can't sleep; Lisa's five-girl slumber party is making too much noise in the room next door and plotting against him.

The truth is, they are talking about Bart shortly before playing a game involving water and hot wax. The point of the game is to drop the candle wax into the water, and whatever shape it takes will indicate the girls' future husband's job.

This, of course, has its issues.
2. During Lisa's slumber party, the girls play Truth or Dare. One of the girls is dared to kiss Bart. Does she succeed?

Answer: Yes

The girls soon move along to playing Truth or Dare and, in a moment of brilliance, one of Lisa's friends is dared to kiss Bart. Unfortunately for him, he's distracted when he opens the fridge door and is barely able to see the girls lurking in the doorway waiting to make a move.

She jumps on him and kisses him, further distracting him for long enough to let the other girls jinx him. After getting Homer to break the jinx (inadvertently getting punched in the process), Bart is pursued through the house by the girls as they try to give him a makeover.

He runs to his room to hide, but to no avail (they actually take the hinges off his door with a drill), and he's forced to leap from the second floor window. The girls make Maggie over instead.
3. Who, according to Moe, sucked the beer taps dry (and cut his gums up pretty bad)?

Answer: Barney

Homer, needing to escape, heads to Moe's Tavern but discovers that the failing bar business isn't doing many wonders for Moe's beer payments; the taps are dry and Barney's already sucked the remaining beer from them. Moe insists that he knows how to make other drinks from his bartending classes, but Homer already has an idea. One night, while needing to make a drink to cope with Patty and Selma's slideshow of their vacation to Czechoslovakia, he crafted something interesting in the kitchen, having discovered his sisters-in-law already drank all his beer.
4. Which of these, according to Homer, makes the Flaming Homer better?

Answer: Fire

When Homer had to whip something together he ended up mixing up the remaining drops of liquor from the bottles around the kitchen and, in his haste, he accidentally added some of the kid's cough syrup (Krusty's Non-Narkotic Kough Syrup, no less) and went along with it.

After blending it together, he survived the first sip and went back to the living room. When Patty's cigarette ashes fell into the drink, setting it ablaze, Homer was surprised to find that fire made the drink, the 'Flaming Homer', much better.

When Moe has a taste, he's shocked at how great it is. When he hands one to an angry customer, he ends up claiming it as his own (and calling it a 'Flaming Moe').
5. Which of these additions does Moe add to the tavern following his new successes?

Answer: A salad bar

Before long, Moe's Tavern is booming so much so that crowds fill the bar and he can afford a salad bar. At one point he even has to hire a waitress part-time to cover the rush. Homer, sitting at the bar, asks Moe if he thinks it's because of his delicious drink but Moe refuses to say.

He even has to block Homer from a conversation with Harv Bannister, a representative of Tipsy McStagger's Good Time Drinking and Eating Emporium, who wants to purchase the recipe. When Moe refuses, Bannister funnels the drink into his bag to bring to the lab for testing.
6. Moe's Tavern inevitably changes its name, but to which of these?

Answer: Flaming Moe's

It isn't long before Moe's name becomes synonymous with the drink; everyone, including Bart's friends at school, believe that Moe invented the famous beverage instead of Homer. Soon, Moe's Tavern gets a name change to 'Flaming Moe's', after the drink, and lines form around the block for entry.

A red carpet leads celebrities into the establishment and live music is performed while Moe makes the drinks en mass. Mayor Quimby even goes out of his way to make a holiday in honour of the Flaming Moe. Homer, frustrated with Moe's success, gets angry with the situation and Marge suggests he speak to his friend directly about some compensation.
7. Which band ends up performing onstage at Moe's?

Answer: Aerosmith

Homer forces his way into Moe's after he's blocked at the door by Moe's bodyguard, mainly by climbing in through the bathroom window. Inside, the place is insanely busy and, somehow, Moe's convinced Aerosmith to perform on the newly-built stage (for pickled eggs, no less).

At the bar, Homer asks Moe for a 'Flaming Homer' and Moe laughs it off. Unfortunately, the new waitress, overhears the conversation and directs her ire at Moe as well. Homer, trying to enforce his point, is drowned out by the crowd. None of this seems to deter the customers though.
8. Which of these drink ingredients are the Tipsy McStagger labs unable to pinpoint?

Answer: Cough syrup

Harv Bannister returns to the bar to make Moe a deal: Moe gives up the recipe and he gets one million dollars. Moe, knowing the success of his business, refuse the deal outright ad puts Harv in a rough spot. The lab, as he says, has figured out everything...except one ingredient (which they believe is 'love').

In truth, it's the cough syrup. Moe has to explain away several cases of the stuff as they come in, via delivery, through the front door. His excuse: he got hooked on it in the service.
9. Who convinces Moe to sell the recipe for the Flaming Moe?

Answer: His waitress

Homer decides to seek out a new watering hole since Moe's is obviously out of the question. What follows is a horrible encounter with a shotgun-toting barkeep in a basement in the seedy part of Springfield. Marge also tags along with Homer on a trip to Lionel Hutz's office, but he claims that drinks can't be copyrighted and there's no case. Marge later tries to get Homer to seek consolation in the happiness he's created by sharing the recipe. Homer refuses to take this though.

Moe's waitress later manages to convince him to sell the drink recipe for a million dollars and split it with Homer. All he has to do is sign it away.
10. Who reveals the final ingredient of the drink in the end of the episode?

Answer: Homer

Disheveled, Homer becomes so enraptured by the idea of Moe that he starts to snap, believing that everyone is simply repeating the name 'Moe'...and becoming Moe in the streets. Still clad in his bathrobe and slippers, he wanders Springfield until that evening, just as Aerosmith performs onstage again and Moe is handed the pen to sign off on the drink contract with Tipsy McStagger's. In a lapse of madness, Homer announces that the secret ingredient is nothing but over-the-counter cough syrup before falling on Aerosmith.

It takes no more than a week before the entire city is selling Flaming Moes. The bar now empty, Moe makes Homer a Flaming Homer.
