Answer: Charlie and Jack

Every episode seems to begin with the eyes, followed by a survivor's point of view. The screen opened on Michael's darting eyes as he searched the jungle for Walt, who seemed to have disappeared again. Michael first encountered Charlie, who was asking about Claire's luggage as Michael asked where his boy was. Jack approached them next, and Micheal asked if Jack had listened to his father at Walt's age. Jack replied yes, probably too well. Hurley came by announcing another golf tournament, but no one had seen Walt. (He was, of course, throwing knives with Locke.)

Answer: Lloyd

Susan, Walt's mother, revealed her name in the first flashback when she and (a very young) Michael were looking in the store for a crib for the child Susan was pregnant with. They agreed on the baby's name there, when Michael told her that he wanted to name his son "Walter" after his father. Susan smiled and said "Walter Lloyd" would be the baby's name, since she wanted Walt to have her last name. "Porter" was Brian's last name, and "Dawson" was Michael's (though Susan never took his name because they weren't married).

At the time, Michael was one of the only people on the island who knew that Sun spoke English. Michael was looking at his son, distressed as he flashed back to troubles in the past, when Sun came over and asked if he was alright. Michael said he was fine, and admitted that Walt could not grow up "here, on this place".

Sayid was able to discover that the maps connected in one area to form a "triangle", which they discovered was the "Black Rock" mentioned by the French woman. Jack asked where they were in relation to the Black Rock, but the map was not to scale and Sayid could not tell. Later Charlie found the Black Rock in Claire's diary, proving that it could be the key to the mystery of the French woman, their transmission, and maybe where Claire was taken as well.

Answer: "Green Lantern"

The front of Walt's "Flash" Spanish comic book read "Linterna Verde", which translates to "Green Lantern". (If you looked closely at the cover, you could see a bright green light on the side.) Walt enjoyed reading the comic book to see the pictures, and it seemed he may have brought the polar bear to life on the tropical island with his "mind's eye".

After his dad burned the book, the polar bear appeared.

Answer: 21 months

When Michael called and Susan told him that Walt was 21 months old and didn't use the phone, Michael told her that he just wanted his son to hear his voice. He then found out that Susan was seeing Brian, her boss. After the accident landed him in the hospital, Michael sketched himself in a cast with a birthday cake for Walt's second birthday. (The card reappeared many times later.)

The joke was, "What is black, white, and red all over? A penguin with a sunburn." The nurse told Michael that she was a mother of four and she was sure Walt would like the joke. At the end of the episode, Michael gave the box he had found on the island to Walt.

Inside was all of the cards and letters, which Susan had saved, that Michael had written to Walt over the years. Walt opened the birthday card and inside was the penguin joke.

Susan told Michael that she and Brian were getting married, and they were moving to Italy. She added that Brian wanted to adopt Walt. This step seemed to finally forced Michael out of his son's life for the following years, until Brian showed up and admitted that he never wanted to be a father.

Walt was complaining about having to study birds of Australia when they lived in Australia. He talked about choosing the Bronze Cuckoo because it had a funny name, and called to his mother and Brian to look at the picture. When no one paid attention, there was suddenly a crash as the glass door.

There, lying on the porch, was the dead cuckoo. Walt gazed at the bird for a moment, then turned and returned to his book while Brian stared after in disbelief.

When Michael went to get Walt, he told him that even though he was leaving Walt would still have his dog. Walt replied that Vincent was Brian's dog, and Michael lied and said Brian would let Walt take Vincent.
