This woke up Michael and he told Walt to look at the time and see that it was time to go back to sleep. Later, in the gazebo, Sun and Jin secretly reunite and he gives her a white orchid as a vow for his love. While this episode reveals the change in their personalities and relationship from Sun's perspective, the partner episode "In Translation" fills the gaps and explains from Jin's point of view.

Boone's less-than-grateful behavior left Jack facing the blame for being unable to save Joanna, though it was very clear that Boone would have been the drowned victim had Jack left him behind.

Notice that the Marshal's injuries are comparable to those which Boone later succumbed to, especially the perforated lung- Jack's reactions do not change much either.

This is part of a Michael/Walt flashback, occurring very early in the morning at their hotel, the day before boarding the plane. Walt spreads the wide curtains to reveal a twinkling skyline of the city, and then proceeds to wake up and agitate Michael by turning up the television. Michael proceeded to chase Walt (and Vincent) through the hotel, and told him he had to go on the plane (though Walt very clearly had other wishes.) A clear time difference is defined here, which shows how time has changed for the castaways since before the flight. In this case, Walt had told Michael that he was not his father in the flashback. In real life, however, Walt ironically wakes Michael up a second time and this time calls him "Dad".

After following a blonde-haired woman into a hotel room, we see her dye her hair and become a brunette (who we recognize to be Kate). Later Kate went to the guest service desk and receives a letter under the alias "Joan Hart". As the man behind the desk searched the envelope, the "Brown Shoe" logo could be read on the box's side. The "Brown Shoe" company operates many retail stores throughout the U.S. and Canada, including its largest as "Famous Footwear". After reading the letter given to her (which had money included), Kate is visibly devastated.

As Sayid was led by the CIA officials through the building, a large green sign on a wall they passed read, "Heathrow Express, The Faster Way To Central London". The Heathrow Express runs between the Heathrow Airport and London Paddington station. It is suggested that the three were at the Heathrow Airport and "snatched Sayid up" as a possible terrorist. When being interrogated, Sayid simply told the officials, "I am an Iraqi. I am not a terrorist." It was later revealed that the CIA wanted to work with him to catch a terrorist... and a former friend of Sayid.

The narration begins the journey through "Lost" where it began, on Oceanic Flight 815: "What if you are on a plane from Sydney to Los Angeles?". Charlie's hand (with a large, distinct ring pertaining to his band, which is later mentioned) was tapping and fidgeting nervously. The Marshal's face was also shown, along with others, as the narrator claimed the passengers as, "A plane full of strangers."

The screen opened on Michael's darting eyes as he searched the jungle for Walt, who seemed to have disappeared again. Jack approached them next, and Micheal asked if Jack had listened to his father at Walt's age. Jack replied yes, probably too well. Hurley came by announcing another golf tournament, but no one had seen Walt. (He was, of course, throwing knives with Locke.)

He then proceeds to call Shannon worthless which appears to really hurt Shannon's feelings.
